For the question that asks "are you a first generation college student' or "are you the first one in your family to get a bachelors degree", I am confused if it asking in America or anywhere overall? Might be a dumb question but I thought it was important to check as colleges in the country I am from are not comparable to colleges or even fancy high schools here lmao.

I think it can be applicable for everywhere, no matter where your parents are from. The question is about whether they have attended a university or not and if you are the first one in your family to do so. My mom attended university but my dad never finished elementary school, so even if it is half applicable in my case, I have to say that I am not a first generation student
