About the instructors
Alex Jacobs holds a bachelor's in theatre from Northwestern University and a master's in social work (with a focus on adult mental health) from the University of Southern California. He has many years of experience in test prep and has tutored a variety of standardized tests. Previously, Alex served as a staff writer at MasterClass, where he contributed to courses taught by Martin Scorsese, Stephen King, Serena Williams, and Doris Kearns Goodwin, among others. He also worked as an actor, screenwriter, and mental health counselor. Drawing on his diverse background, Alex brings an engaging, empathetic, and holistic approach to teaching.
In his free time he loves playing tennis, singing karaoke, and revising his bio for the 7Sage website.
Katie graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and is starting at Penn Carey Law this fall. She has taught standardized tests for six years, including the LSAT for the past two.
Katie believes the best way to improve is to approach the test methodically: develop structured strategies for each question type, recognize common patterns, and find efficient shortcuts along the way. As a visual learner, she both teaches with and recommends visual tools, such as diagramming or drawing pictures, to organize and understand information—methods she used to succeed on her own test.
In her free time, Katie enjoys playing soccer, trying new restaurants, and playing video games.
