Whoops I think I meant to delete this. I did have a specific question, but I've managed to start hitting 170 on PTs. It took a while to get there from 166-169. Good luck to all!

Agreed, don't worry TOO much about timing just yet. Give yourself a fair buffer at first, but knowing how long it's taking you is good. If you start setting the harsh constraints too early you risk compromising the basic skills you need to get better and as a result get faster, because you might start rushing yourself without realizing it and therefore throw what you learned up to that point out...and then you end up with wasted questions.

Indication of how unorganized it was. Maybe it's cause I've taken it before but they didn't even actually check us in, people were drinking coffee during the test. They fudged timing. We were about to begin the actual test and they noticed someone didn't have a photo attached to their ticket. (And he sat through the entire test so if he doesn't get score that sucks for him, even if it his his fault) Just the fact that they didn't know what was up makes me worried they'll mix up our tests or something and it'll take longer to get scores. I could just be weird about sticking to rules but really I've heard of people getting turned around before so it all just put me off.

So my testing center ended up making me more stressed than the test itself..they let in someone without a photo! But agreed, not entirely sure how I did, but looking back I don't think I could predict how well I did even on my best practice test. I'm sure you all did great, you all prepared well!

Omg, had a cockroach land ON MY DESK during the test. Guess this was the LSAT of cockroaches but so glad it's done.

Yeah I've seen people with like juice boxes in their bag so if you're fine with cold coffee, maybe consider one of the boxed or bottled ones as well. Also saw people with refillable water bottles so again, might wanna just check with your test center.

Harper Lee!

Not sure about you all but reading that book as a kid confirmed my "naive"/"idealist" goals. So excited for her sequel, the announcement legitimately made me pumped for Saturday. Good luck everyone, getting one step closer to your goals!

Wow! Yeah, I definitely notice the tips for reading faster are helpful, and you'd think it would make retention harder but it actually makes it easier because you only make necessary marks, etc., less distracting

I consistently get 2 questions at the end of each section on LR and RC incorrect, even if I end up with a couple minutes to spare to check answers, I end up being confident about those answers and don't bother checking. Anyone notice anything similar or have tips to overcome this? It seems like it would have something to do with proper pacing or maybe loss of concentration by the end of the section but it happens on consecutive sections, two sections of LR back to back and all I miss is 2 questions at the end of each (last 5 problems).

Meaning I was working 100 hours and had to study on top of that, didn't work out well! Now I've taken time off and devoted most of my time to studying. But, I have concentrated it quite a bit and devoted a lot of my hours over a shorter span of time. Thanks all! You can do it!!

I took a three month course from a big company, and also working 100-hour weeks for the last month of it and by the end, I scored the exact same as I had on my first diagnostic. While the techniques were good they weren't the best for me, I think it is important to stress quality over quantity for PTs as you should be reviewing, but for me I had to shift that to quality and quantity. I don't want to speak too soon but I saw results quickly when I started taking ~2 full tests a day. That way you start to really see the patterns and put everything into work to build up the timing and endurance. I know that doesn't work for everyone because everyone's schedule always so I think studying while you're able to devote to it like a full time job makes a difference not just because you put the time in, but you're able to devote yourself mentally as well. Mindset has made a huge difference!

To get from 160s to 170s, the quickest thing that's made a difference for me is first, I used 7sage methods on LG (way simpler than some books out there!) but recently, I've remembered to trust myself. I spent extra seconds before deciding on writing out sub game boards and now if I don't see it immediately I just get to the questions, saves a lot of time for me and I miss ~2 questions. Also, especially on LR, I'll turn the section time down to 30 minutes. Again, forces me to trust myself.

Confirm action

Are you sure?
