1) My name is Hakeem Muhammad, i'm from the South Side of Chicago, where I witnessed numerous social ills emanating from gang-violence, the drug economy, and poverty. This inspired for me the desire to change my community and be an advocate of social justice and activism. I have worked in the African-American Male Initiative, taught public speaking and debate at U.C Berkeley/Michigan State debate Camps, and recently delivered a lecture on protest rhetoric at Harvard Debate Council.

2) My LSAT Score, my GPA is solid and I have solid extracurricular activities, just need the lsat score to match.

Thanks. Sure thing, i'll make sure I finish the core before I take anymore tests

I began studying for the LSAT using 7sage late July. My diagnostic score was 150. Since then, I have scored 152, then 157, then 154, then 157 again. I have not finished the core curriculum though. I am consistently my lowest score in Logic Games, getting about ten questions right. I was thinking about doing a logic game intensive and just focusing the month of September on Logic Games and foolproofing. Do you think that will be beneficial?

I am taking the test in December and am aiming for a 165. Based on current trends, do you think that score is possible within the timefram?

I am really thankful for all the helpful advice and wanted to give an update. UCLA at the last minute offered to interview me and I did the interview and it went well. However, I just received an email saying they wanted to do another interview with a professor of their public-policy/public interest program which is after the the May1st, deposit deadline at the other schools. IN fact, I believe it is after the deposit deadline at UCLA school but I still have not received any official offer from them as to whether I have been "waitlisted" or officially accepted. Any idea as to what could be going on? I guess I am not going to have any other choice but to submit the deposit to Northeastern for safety.

A Good warmup for test day

What is a good warmup for the day of the test? I noticed when I do logic games shortly after I wake up in the morning, the first time I make some sloopy mistakes and miss questions I could have easily answered correctly. However, the second time around I am much more sharper in mind and less likely to make careless mistakes. Any tips to warmup my mind to perform at optimal level for test day?

Other Games similar to virus game

Hey,

I recently ordered practice 79 but it doesn't look like its going to ship in time for me to receive it by the December 3rd LSAT DATE. Are there any games similar to the virus game that I can use to prepare for a game like that?

Great. Thanks for the feedback. I'll aim for 12 games per day.

I'm taking off from working in order to store for the lsat. I am aiming to score a 165, the last time I took a practice test I scored 157. Logic games are my weakest sections and logical reasoning is my strongest section, im averaging 20+ right. On my last logic game test I got only nine correct. I have a learning disability known as "dysgraphia" that results in me making all sorts of typographical errors on the game unless I really really slow down and concentrate. I see myself making all sorts of careless mistakes and am going to have to work much harder than the average person to master logic games. I see myself doing silly stuff like writing a rule that something occurs on "Tuesday" and I misread it as it occurring on thursday, and my ability to use space properly on the games I find challenging. I write big and run out of room. Unfortunately, i doubt i would be accepted for any accomdations because throughout my academic career i've always been able to work through my dysgraphia and excel without much accomdations other than being able to use my labtop to take notes in class. In order to get through this, I planned on doing 30 logic games a day fool proofing previous games. Do you think this is a good method to improve?

I was accepted At northeastern on a full ride and was selected for the public interest fellowship. I was waitlisted at Georgetown(preferred waitlist), Duke, Northwesten and UPENN. I am having hard time deciding is it worth fighting to get into a t-16 with More name recognition but eventually getting deep in debt because I likely wouldn't be receiving scholarship I assume even if I got in since I've been waitlisted. I am a URM from very humble background. Graduating from law school debt free would mean a lot to me.

Figting to get into higher ranked school + plus accumulate debt verses lower ranked school and fill ride.

I want to go into public interest law and northeastern fits that model perfectly.

Thanks. Update, since taking this original test and scoring 152, my score since then has been 160 and then 159. I planned on taking the December lsat and my original score goal was 163. However, I only have a month left of prep and I know they tell you to score above your intended goal score multiple times before your ready to take the test. I'm going to keep prepping but at this point I planned on also taking the Feb LSAT.

Scholarship essay.

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone could take a look at my personal statement for a public interest law program. I plan on going into civil rights law and the personal essay discusses this ambition.

Hey,

I've been put on the preferred waitlist at two t-14 school and wont know if I got off the waitlist until after May. However, one of the non- t-14 but still really solid school gave me until May,1st to accept the full scholarship public interest fellowship and if I don't accept it by then, I won't receive the full ride. However accepting the fellowship means that I have to withdraw my application from all other schools. Honestly, I want to be a public interest lawyer and the school which I received a full ride to is a very strong program for that. However, the two t-14 schools I was waitlisted at have more name recognition but since I was waitlisted I assume I wont be receiving much if any scholarships to go into those schools even if accepted, is that a correct assumption? Is getting the risk of the waitlist at a t-14 worth passing up a full ride scholarship?

Update: I appreciate all of the great feedback. I practiced the time loop drilling for logical reasoning and it really helped me to develop a flow when answering questions. Before, even when I am fairly certain a question is 99% correct I still spent time thinking about it to make sure it was 100% correct. So I've learned to move on.

I only completed two logic games sections and one of the easy "acceptable situation" questions from a third question. All of the questions that I answered I got correct, but I left the other ones blanks instead of filling it in. On the logical reasoning section, I missed "Two" questions in the first one and three questions in the second one. I skipped an entire reading comp passage and missed a couple questions of the questions that I did answer but still managed to score a "160" which is my highest score yet. I've spent a lot of time drilling for logic games(despite my poor performance) and logical reasoning. I'm thinking of spending some time drilling for Reading Comp since I haven't focused on that section as much. Advice?

My goal is to score 160, I scored just a few points shy of that in December but during practice tests before then I was scoring 160 back to back on practice test with my highest score being 161. I am retaking in February with that goal score in mind again. Any tips/study plans from now until Feb,4th? Do I have to begin averaging 165 on practice test to meet this score?

THanks, actually for the most part I have sequencing games done but need to improve with grouping/ in and out. I was just asking because game 3 on lsat 10 seems very abnormal.

Do you recommend drilling those weird games in the early 1-35 practice tests that are not known to appear on modern lsats?

I submitted an old photo I took at walgreens. It meets qualifications but I no longer have access to the physical photo and only a digital copy. Will they ask for a physical copy of that photo on the test date?

I took the LSAT last December with the attention of going to Law School in Fall. I was extremely busy when I originally took the test and barley studied. Unfortunately, I scored in the 150's. I decided I was going to retake the test when I had more time to study and not apply to last school until the next year. However, several schools sent me application waivers. Out of the schools that sent me application waivers one was Northeastern which is a school that I am interested in attending. They have an excellent public interest law program which is my area of interest. I'm now studying for the LSAT full-time to retake in December with way more time on my hands than I had last year. My goal is to score to score "165" but whatever my score im likely to score way better than the first test I took in December based upon my performance on practice test. Should I wait to submit my northeastern law application until my new lsat score comes in in December or should I submit it with the old one?

Thanks, for me the issue is speed. I've scored between 0 to -2 when TIME is not a factor and I do it untimed. But when I do it timed, its a whole other story. So I am gong to flooproof and focus on speed. thanks.

" Before you take another PT, try to learn everything you can from this one. Identify the weaknesses it exposed, and then study based on that information."

How do I make sure that I've learned everything there is to learn from the practice test? After blind reviewing, watching the explainations, then what? For logic games, I intend to redo the entire section until I can do it under 35

Mins with 100% accuracy. How do you review reading comp and logical reasoning?

People who struggled at logic games, how long did it take you to get good? I've been doing three plus months of solid drilling just to be at 14.

You're right, just calculated and 8 points more on logic games would mean 165. Believe me, on my first diagnostic I only got nine questions correct on the logic game portion. I have honestly been drilling like crazy doing several games multiple times with very minimal improvement. But I am going to keep at it. And as far as holding off until next cycle, I can't do that. I've already come to agreement with my family that I would be going to law school next year.

I will be going to law school next year with whatever score I get to a school within my range. Just my goal for December is 160, and my goal for Feb is 165. I think if I get a good score in Feb though enough for a t-14, I could convince my family to allow me to wait until next cycle.

My logic games section is my worst, I am averaging 14+ correct. Within the given time period, I am normally only able to do two sections. Of the sections I do complete, I get them all right usually but then I guess on the other two. Honestly, I have tried drilling several times with minimal improvement but I am going to try to keep at it.

Hey yall,

I've been consistently drilling, practice examining and blind reviewing. My latest scores have been 160,161, 158, and 159. On the actual exam that I will be taking I would like to score 165, but realistically not sure if I can reach that score by December fourth. I would at least like to score "160" and not in the 150's range. Any tips from now to December to achieve that goal? I also plan on taking the exam on February.

any other thoughts?

I had been doing practice tests consistently prior to finishing the core curriculum. My diagnostic was "150". Since then, I have scored 155, 157, 154, and 157. Today, after finally finishing the core curriculum I took my first practice test and scored a measly 152. However, my blind review score was 163. While Logical reasoning is typically my strongest section(-4/-5), this time I performed very weakly as there was a bunch of questions in which the timer went off before I was able to answer. I personally think its because for a couple of weeks I hadn't been looking at any of the logical reasoning stuff as I was focusing on logic games which is typically my weakest section. I actually performed better on logical games that I usually do missing ten questions. While this is overall very low, it is an improvement for me. Is this a case of working to improve on my strength which is logical reasoning? I have roughly two months until I take the lsat in december. I have access to every lsat prep test ever made. What study routine do you think could help me achieve optimal performance?

Hello,

I took the December LSAT. For the top school that I want to attend, my LSAT score is within the range of scores admitted to their school and my GPA is above their MEDIAN. During my practice test, I had an obnoxious proctor(https://classic.7sage.com/forums/discussion/9671/my-nerves-got-to-me-for-the-first-section#latest) which resulted in me having a nervous break down during the first section. For like ten minutes, I was on the same question over and over again. Fortunately, I recovered and the other four sections I did well on. I was hoping the first section was the experimental but it was not, in fact, had the first section been the experimental and the third section been real, my score would have been astronomically better. Due to this, I have registered to take the Feb LSAT. I am continuing to practice and am confident my score this time around will be better than in December. However, my top choice sent me an email saying that put my application on hold since i am retaking the lsat in February. Feb LSAT scores wont be returned into March and I am afraid that if I wait to long, it will be harder to get in. Should i take the application off hold and have them evaluate me now? My score is below their median but within range and my GPA is above their median.

How soon should I began studying for the Feb LSAT? I have finished the core curriculum, taking multiple tests and going into the test I was averaging 160. My highest score ever was 162.

On a bright note, 7Sage has helped me signicantly improve on logic games though I am still not perfecf(goal for feb). I remember first starting and thinking I was totally hopeless at logic games. With more prep and work, I think I can grt way better at that section.

@ LOL, the test hadn't be even started yet! We were bubbling in our names, social security number...etc. Anyways, I'm going to try to stop stressing over this and get ready for February but I seriously dislike that proctor. During the remaining of the tests, she kept walking and hovering of me.

Yes. There is that possibility. I hope so.

Before the test was handed out, the lady to the right of me was sneezing. The lady to the left of me had some tissue and was reaching over me to hand to her. I simply took it from her and gave it to the lady to the right of me and the next thing you know a proctor comes up to me saying"There can be no communication between test takers. This is your final warning. If it happens again, you will be dismissed." I told her that I didn't say anything and just gave her tissue. Then she asks,"Do you want to be dismissed?" I didn't respond and the test was handed out. My nerves from that incident were wracking during the first section and I believe i totally bombed section one. Anyways, as the test progressed I began to calm down and believe that I did well for the remaning 4 sections. Still, I believed I significantly underperformed for section one. I will be retesting I February and wanted tips for best controlling nerves. I normally don't get anxiety on standardized test but something different happened today.

Confirm action

Are you sure?
