When I studied for my nursing boards I would use NCLEX books as I went along and go over my week points. I never did a full test until I went to Kaplan. Should I take the same approach with the LSAT since I am not taking them until June 2018. I bought the Kaplan book and have a few others hoping if I learn the concepts then I can start taking the practice tests later on.

My studying is going slow. I work full time as an RN so I get studying in when I can. I bought the Kaplan book so it's very helpful. The course helped me pass my NCLEX the first time.
I am a NTS also. I was also a NTS when it came to my current profession by getting a second degree BSN. I have always wanted to be a lawyer though ever since my first bachelors. I would love to meld my work in nursing with mental health patients, experience working in corrections as and find an area of law to practice from there. I was thinking working with mental health court, Veterans or even be a prosecutor. Fortunately and unfortunately you learn a lot working in a county jail. I am grateful for my experience.
Should I take a practice test too see where my weaknesses are and then start to focus on them or follow how my Kaplan goes and then take practice test?
Yes I plan to take them in June of 2018. I have to slowly change how I think from medical to legal which is difficult. There are a lot of commonalities though.
