If you didn't score where you wanted to, it means you've some work to do and there are points to gain. I would try to focus on a one or two of QT's at a time and try to drill them. I would start with MC because most of everything on this LSAT is about conclusion and premises. If you can narrow those down, then move on to MSS, because then the conclusion is removed and tugged away in the AC's. Take it one step at a time and you will get there.

I usually do 10 hard MC untimed and 10 medium level difficulty timed. And then 5 hard timed but that’s in a time frame of 1.5 hours.

Study buddy?

Hi,

I am looking to take June 2024 LSAT. I work FT. I am a nontraditional student with little ones. I have flexibility on a weekend, Mon and Fri. I am looking for preferably a female buddy or buddies. I would like to meet once or twice a week to go over possibly a section or two and go over how we both would approach a question type. Or we can do a RC passage together or/and can try to explain it to the other what we just read . I believe if you can explain what you just read, you are one step ahead. We can work on games together, too. I guess just someone to share this miserable journey with and be each other biggest supporter. We can brainstorm together. Please let me know if you're interested!

There will be 2 LR's and 1 RC scored BUT the fourth section can either be RC or LR. So there is a high chance you may have 3 LR's.

CAS... confused!

I am new to this and can't seem to find the answer I am looking for. I went through old discussions and it is not helping. I contacted LSAC as well but they have god forsaken respond time.

So you guys are my last resort ...

I recently paid $200 and took the LSAT. It sucked and I have to retake.

Here is the thing, though... I want to get CAS but only for two law schools. The only option LSAC has is for one or six law schools. I do not want six! Is there a way (maybe I have not figured this out) that I can purchase CAS but only for two law schools? Is there even such a thing? HELP!

It is a learnable test. It is a different skill that we don't utilize on daily which is why it does not come natural to us. But it is learnable. I can go on and on how this test is just arg!... but I have come to accept it. Nothing good in life comes easy... I am sure you are well aware of that. All in all, you CAN do it. I wouldn't give up especially given your background.

You shouldn’t take this test until you feel ready to take it. Don’t work against a deadline because you’re putting extra pressure on to yourself and this test is stressful as is. Keep learning and then take PT to see where you’re averaging before you sign up for June. A good score means more scholarship and less debt you’re taking out. Your future self will thank you. I wish you the best in your journey.

Offers and total enrolled ... ?

The school that I’m interested in released their 509 aba.

I don’t understand what the below stats means. Does it mean that out of the ones that were offered admission, only 433 actually enrolled? Also if this is the case. why are they offering admissions to so many when their school can only handle a certain amount of first year students?

Completed Applications 3055

Offers of Admission 1330

Total in First-year class 433

is this for me?

My first diagnostic, I scored a 134. I signed up with 7Sage and only had two months to study prior to taking the Feb 20, 2020 LSAT. My second dignostic few days before the big day was 142. I thought about not going in for the LSAT because I just did not feel prepared (for obvious reasons). But alas, my over zealousness kicked in. I sat for the LSAT. I did not feel good walking out of it because I was ill prepared. I knew that going in but like I said, I just wanted to give it a go. YOLO. Anyway, I received my score few days ago, and let me just say LMAO. I saw it coming a mile away. I scored a 143. I am looking at it this way, I improved by 9 points just studying off and on for two months. I now want to register for November 2020 and give myself solid seven months to study.

But here is the dilemma, this voice in my head is saying to drop this and work towards masters in Social Work. My end goal is to help people who feel helpless. I also want to help neglected children. I know I can achieve this goal by being a social worker but I am not a quitter. I had Loophole delivered to my house today. I want to pick it up and fix the errors and get better. I know I can get better but why am I feeling this way?

I started at -14 at LG to -4. They’re fun to learn. And so repetitive. Love them and sad to see them go.

You’re a good candidate. The point is, you didn’t stop. You completed your undergraduate degree. If your goal is top 100, then a score of 158-160 is what to aim for. You got this. This won’t be easy and will take a lot of hard work but hey, you can do it.

You’ve to look for language that restricts how many people can be selected, or in at a certain time. For example, there are five players but exactly four have to be in. The other way you can familiarize yourself is by going through the drill section and selecting in and out games. Read the rules and take note of the language used. You can also drill just doing set up drills without doing the questions. The more you expose yourself to these set ups / language, you will be able to identify them quicker.

Pencil, eraser, blank pieces of paper, snack in a see through bag, and water bottle was all that was allowed.

Your score is pretty good but if you are looking to improve then defintely invest into a tutor. They can walk through your process and tweak it a bit. It generally does makes a difference. I believe 7Sage offers 2.5 hours of tutoring with one of its packages so definitely look into it.

Hello all,

I was initially going to wait until after taking Nov LSAT but I just couldn’t wait... so I did it. I applied. It was really exciting and now the anticipation begins. I do have questions. I will go ahead and take the Nov lsat regardless. But will the updated score get sent to the schools I applied to before the decision is rendered? What if the decision is rendered after I take the lsat? I’m guessing I will have to go through the application process again for all of the law schools with the updated score?

Why not get an internship or a part time work in the legal field to get some experience in? I think it would be beneficial.

You have to make it fun for yourself. I read each line, and make a comment to myself about what is said or what I think about it. I learned this from an online class I attended with John Aldy. So if you read a line that says that, "some critics say... xyz..." Depending on how much you have been studying for the LSAT, you would know that when author is talking about some critics, he will refute it... so when I read about some critics, I say to myself, "yeah, don't care..." And then you go on to read the next sentence. I hope this makes sense? I just talk to myself throughout the entire passage. Or if I see that the author did not agree with what is being stated, I usually say, "hmm...author isn't happy about this, or, this is our author finally telling me what he doesn't like..." I went from -16 to -4. It really works!

TL:DR - After each sentence make a comment on the sentence you read and make it fun for yourself and try to anticipate where the author is going.

Memorize the words that triggers sufficient and necessary. Do not move forward until you know how to draw logic because that's kind of the core of any argument. Give yourself time since this is like a new language. I will leave some examples here for you.

I will not go to school if it is raining. IF triggers sufficient which always goes on the left side and necessary goes on the right. So whatever follows IF goes with it; they hang out together. My sentence will look like this, If raining then not go to school. "Not go to school" is necessary, which always goes to the right side of the sentence.

Now to draw a contrapositive, just switch it and negate it.

Original sentence: If raining then not go to school.

Contrapositive: If go to school, then not raining.

As I said before, there so much more to this, and it builds up to more advanced. You can do this. Keep at it and it will click.

What to do when waiting for scores?

I am sitting for February 2023 shortly but when the scores release come March 1st and it’s not the score I am aiming for, I would like to take the June 2023. My question is what to do during those 14 days after taking the test because I have a studying momentum right now and don’t want to lose it in case I have to get back into studying again. Should I take the necessary 14 days off and start after the score release, if need be?

I work full time and have little ones. I do 10 drill question types a day or even a passage a day. If I have to, I’ll wake up at 4:30 a.m. and work until 5:30 am. You’ve to do something. Make it work for yourself. I know you can do it. It is not quantity but quality for me. I also listen to 7sage podcast on my drive to or from work. Immerse yourself even for 10 or 20 mins. It does wonders.

Do a drill where you go through a passage and pick an answer choice where you’re 90% sure, and move on. Don’t change it. That’s the drill. And see how that works. You definitely need confidence when taking this test.

You will need for SA and MBT question types specifically. And sometimes it also does show up on other question types. It’s a very useful skill to have.

Negation would be the opposite of what the statement says.

John says he likes to eat out.

Negate: John says he does not like to eat out.

Maria is sick of eating broccoli.

Maria is not sick of eating broccoli.

No one likes to fish.

Some do like to fish.

All animals are furry.

Some animals are not furry.

Some chickens are cute when they talks.

No chickens are cute when they talk.

The only tricky thing would be when it’s some, all, most, none, etc, dealing with quantifiers. But other than that, you only negate an answer choice that you think might be the answer. You don’t negate every AC. I know you asked if there were any drills you could do but I just wanted to show you that negation can be a natural thing. I hope this helped!

I really love the new site! It's incredibly user-friendly and offers a refreshing experience that doesn't feel overwhelming at all. The overall design has a great vibe. I especially love the drilling pre-set by QT, it's a fantastic feature, and the recommendations add even more value. If this could be made a permanent feature, it would be amazing! I understand that the mobile site isn’t active yet, but having this functionality available on the go would be a game changer!

I hear you. This test makes you question yourself but it’s really about how well you can break down an argument which is a skill set some may have naturally but most need it through studying. If you have tutor a then do share your own self assessment with them and they can guide you better. They can also tailor the lessons to iron out your weak points.

Also, you might have to change your strategy if the current one isn’t working. I might start with taking five, 5 level questions and identify the conclusion and then see why the premises don’t support the conclusion or what you can add to the stimulus to make it better. But don’t solve the question. Just drill the stimulus this way. This has helped me.

You got this.

Study partner? [CLOSED]

I am looking for a study partner to go over maybe some material in 2-3 sessions a week. I think someone to touch base and to toss around ideas with. I also think talking it out and explaining questions to others on how you will approach a problem is also helpful. We can do RC together because RC is usually dry as hell. Or, do one game together. I mean, whatever works. I am a non-traditional student and work full time. I am just trying to get comfortable with the language of LSAT as much as possible.
