7sage (for grammar) and LSAT Trainer (for strategies). Thank me later.
Literally THIS.
At the very least, i think everyone (yes, EVERYONE) should take a look at the LSAT trainer's RC chapters even if it is just those chapters that someone reads.
I used to while drilling but not during PTs :)
Lawschoolnumbers, the ABA 509s, employment stats through the ABA, and generally just google and you can find some stuff.
you could also head to like lawschool.life and reddit to see if you can find anything on what students/alum say about a school you are interested for some insight!

I am worried about taking it again as opposed to someone who only took it once. I'm not looking to go to a tier one school, tier 2 or even tier 3 is fine with me so I'm trying to not to stress myself too much
Your highest score is what matters, trust me, 2 or 3 takes won't raise eyebrows. Take it again if you think you can do better.
Btw, i am going to PM you about my cycle and hopefully it makes you feel better! :)
GW is a good school, but it depends how you define 'good'. I will most likely be attending GW in the fall and my take on it is if you want biglaw then GW probably isn't the best choice. However, I think GW can be a good choice (dependent on debt level though) if you want to do PI work, go to a small firm or do government work.
Biglaw is possible from GW, but if you are biglaw or bust then i think it may not be the best option since you will need to be at the very least in the top 1/3 of your class to even have a shot (although this may vary depending on URM status or if you are a patent bro).
What is your end goal in the type of career that you want?
Good luck everyone!
You guys are gonna kill it. We all know how stressful this day can be, but just remember that you've done the hard part of the study grind and this is just you showing off your awesomeness!
Full tuition at WUSTL is a great outcome. However, if you personally think you can do better on the LSAT and raise your score then I say go for it. 170 is great but only you know if you can do better. Big law is possible from WUSTL but from the people i have spoken to, they all say you have to be above median for it which obviously is never guaranteed.
Do you like WUSTL? I think with a full tuition scholarship it can be worth it but you have to go in knowing that big law is not guaranteed.
Anecdotal, but I know someone who someone who goes to WUSTL with a full ride + stipend, ended up doing well and got big law. However, she says she regrets not going to a T14 because it would've made things a lot easier. So yeah, it's possible and WUSTL has good BL numbers but you need the grades.
Best of luck!! :)
You're amazing, man! Congrats again!!! :)
I wouldn't worry too much about it to be honest.
Just know the basics of it and you will be fine which are:
there will be a small story
there will be 2 different sides/outcomes for the story
choose 1 of the outcomes/sides and argue why you chose it
I do, however, think that knowing basic structure of what to do is good. Someone told me once to just do a very basic structure of: [Paragraph 1: explain in a general way that you are choosing X side instead of Y side. Paragraph 2: explain in detail why you chose X side. Paragraph 3: do some type of comparing/contrasting between both sides and explain more about why your side is "better" than the other one. Paragraph 4: a small conclusion].
The above always seemed to work for me, but of course it's just one way of doing it, I suppose. You can mix it up and do it a bit different, of course, but something like that works, imo. It's very simple and doesn't really require much prep, tbh. Most people I know (myself included, as well as observing the room the 4 times I took the LSAT lol) finish it in about 15 mins or so.
When I was fool proofing LG I just used normal notebook paper and did all my work on there and had a cheesy thing on the side of the page that was numbered and had ABCDE, lol. Some people say not to do this since you should practice on a real LG page, but it worked for me and as long as you do practice on a proper LG page you should be fine. Yes, you are using paper but not printer ink ;) haha.
They can appear anywhere. Most of the time they are after like Q10 or so, I'd say, but can certainly appear before that.
I agree with Return in that you should implement a skipping strategy. When I was studying and used an effective skipping strategy, it helped me go faster and finish all of the questions I knew I would get right then go back later to the ones that stumped me on the first go.
Look at some skipping strategies and see what you can do with that.
This is awesome! :)
Although your outcome at Georgetown isn't bad, I think it is not the best you could get with your numbers. 3.97/172 can get you good money at other T14's and I know you're debt averse but those numbers are possibly HYS territory (obv keep in mind they do need-based aid!). I think even without a retake, reapplying in September will probably get you much better options than GULC, but if you really want to go now, GULC at 90k COA is a good option.
Academia is really hard to get into, and I've heard many mixed things about it from "go to HYS" to "take the large scholarship at a T14 to lower debt". So I'm not too informed about academia except that it's extremely tough to get into, so maybe someone else can chime in on that.
Big city, for sure.
Been in NYC my whole life and plan on being here for my career.
the riddled basins of attraction passage SUCKED for me
Apply early and update schools on your GPA improvement.
Some schools may ask for an updated transcript around January anyway.
Although I think it's good to take the money at a school that gives you a great shot at being a lawyer where you want to practice, I am always iffy on taking every piece of advice older lawyers give, as the legal field is so so so much more different now than when they attend school and graduated.

Long time no see. Hows your cycle been??
what's up!
my cycle has been.. uh.. pretty bad lol. majority of my decisions are waitlists/dings with very few acceptances.. :( this is a really tough cycle. I do have an offer I like, but most of my decisions have been very upsetting and some very surprising honestly. I still have about 5 schools to hear back from though, but I'm not hopeful lol
how about you?
Brooklyn is better than Emory for NYC, it is their home market and you will be there all year so you will form connections during the semesters. Brooklyn isn't the best for biglaw, but could be an option if you kill it there. Given Brooklyn is cheaper and you want NYC, it beats emory by a long shot honestly.
Good luck!
Nah, I personally wouldn't. No matter how hardworking and smart I may think I am, there's always the unpredictability of law school grades leading me to have a 25% chance of losing the scholarship. It's definitely more generous than top 40%, of course, but it's still a big gamble when you think of it as a 1/4 chance of losing all that money.
if the July test is anything like every other administration, then roughly like a month or less, maybe 3 weeks. So no, you wouldn't be applying to schools before you find out your LSAT score, because most apps open up in September.
Schools receive your feb score, why don't you want to know the new score they will be basing a large chunk of your application on? At the end of the day, it's your decision, and I respect it, but I think it would be good to know your new score in case you should be aiming for better schools than you applied to, possibly?
Also, don't go to Golden Gate. Honestly, their employment stats are not very good. (https://www.lstreports.com/schools/goldengate/)
Hope everything works out for you, though. Best of luck!
