Another fellow Badger here! I got a 157 as well and I will be retaking. Your softs are strong, but those are only 5% of your application. I would take the June or Oct LSAT and apply next cycle to get your score up to 165+ in order to get into some of the higher ranked schools (Northwestern, WUSTL) or get into strong regionals (Wisconsin, Minnesota) with good scholarship $.

It sounds like you are basically where you were in Dec as far as your PT's go. Taking the Feb LSAT seems like a waste if you aren't scoring significantly higher. You could save a lot of money by getting that score up. It was hard for me to stomach taking a year off, but it's your future your talking about.

Yes the June test is on a Monday for some weird reason

I was PTing in low 160s with the occasional 165-166 and got a 157. I went -1 on games so clearly, I need to improve fundamentals in both LR and RC.

When do you recommend I buy the starter kit? (I basically just want the lessons, as I already have 30 most recent pts plus superprep)

June or Oct LSAT?

Hello all,

I am planing on taking the LSAT for the 3rd and final time. Currently, I'm not sure which test date to sign up for. June is appealing because I can apply the first day apps are open, but I have to study during my final semester of UG and I am jaded with studying during school. I also feel like I will always wonder what I've could've done with those extra 3 months of prep.

Sept/Oct sounds more appealing because I'll have the whole summer to go hard studying and can take it light during this next semester. However, I can't apply as early, but it seems to me there's not much of a difference in admissions decisions/$$$ that early in the cycle.

Any input is appreciated. This also applies to when I'm going to buy the 7sage starter kit, as it only lasts 3 months.

I don't know what to do

Hello all,

I was disappointed to say the least with my December LSAT score of 157. I was PTing at 161 average and had scored a 165 a few days before the test. With my 3.2 GPA, I needed a higher score.

My plan was to always go straight through to law school from undergrad, but with these numbers, I might get into some schools, but with no scholarship. I really want to attend the University of Wisconsin law school (currently undergrad there) and think I may have a shot (probably will get waitlisted).

Should I retake and apply next cycle or apply to UW and attend if I get in? I have been distressed the last 24 hours and have a thousand thoughts running through my head. Your input is appreciated.

My favorite LSAT related moment was when I got my first PT over 165 (166). I got this 2 months after I was PTing in the mid to high 140s. It was so fulfilling for me to know that I came this far after having a diagnostic of 141. It showed me that my hard work was paying off and I was not going to let a supremely low diagnostic play into me increasing my score as much as possible. Don't listen to people who say "you can only expect to improve your score 'X' amount of points" because it's BS. The only limits you have to scoring high is the limits you put on yourself.

LSAT ticket printer question

I printed my ticket and the yellow ink was low...the top left corner that says "LSAC" turned a pink color. Does this matter? Everything else turned out fine.

I really thought about doing one section today, but I asked myself if it really was gonna benefit me in any way. Is this going to make me do better on Saturday? I thought the answer to that is no. But Megan, I think You should just relax until the test. I was feeling like I hit rock bottom yesterday with that 154, but I emotionally feel more confident just by relaxing and shaking it off. I feel like confidence is alot of the battle. I'm going into Saturday feeling ready to kick the LSAT's ass.

Burnout during last week

I really think I am burned out. All I am thinking about is the LSAT, and took 3 tests in 3 days, with review after. My average is about 160 and my scores have been 165, 152, and 154. I know I didn't suddenly get dumber, but I don't think studying anymore can benefit me at all. I've read so many stories about how people did well after taking a few days off before the test, so I think at this point that's what I'm going to do.

Discouraged

I just tried to take PT 72 and got so frustrated and thrown off that I quit during section 2. I printed it off from everylsat.com and screwed up in RC (section 1) bc I had to keep flipping back and forth looking at the passage for questions that were on the back side of the page. I had only 3 minutes to get through the last passage and got murdered by it. I started doing section 2 and was just so mad about the last section that I got through 5 LR questions in 8 minutes and nothing was making sense. I thought that it was just best if I stopped, bc I had had a long day (usually don't do PTs at night) and knew I was going to do horrible on this test.

It is especially discouraging because I scored a 165 yesterday on PT 71 and was feeling so confident. Should I still take 73 tomorrow?

"Everyone wanna be a bodybuilder but nobody wanna lift no heavy ass weight" lol in all seriousness I agree with jdawg. Take it easy for a day. You put in the work, and will not do yourself any benefit by studying and worrying nonstop. You got this!

Drill RC passages or sections?

Hello all, yes this is another RC discussion topic. I was wondering if I should drill RC sections or just the passages. I have been doing both and feel like I should be completely getting these passages right and understand them before I do timed sections.

Major time suck, no benefit whatsoever. Use the time to read and understand the passage
