@ get back up, dust yourself off and try again. I've taken the LSAT 3 times, 1st I got a 146, 2nd 149 and 3rd 157 (June 2018). Regardless, this is just a stepping stone in your journey. Now you know what its like and can adjust your studying accordingly.

Bombed LR section

I've been doing pretty good with LR getting 4/5 correct consistently. However I took prep test 36 and completely bombed section 1 with 7/26 with 3 min remaining. Obviously I was going too fast, but this is pretty discouraging. Any ideas?

7Sage approved tutors?

I am in need of a tutor to improve my RC score. I simply cannot seem to get a good grasp on RC.

Does anyone offer tutoring? I'm doing great on all other sections, but RC is kicking my ass!! Taking the Sept test in a little over 2 weeks.

Someone please help!

I am doing great on the other sections, but RC is killing my score. I am constantly missing 15+/- on RC.

I have tried underlining, making short summaries/ LSAT Trainer method... and nothing seems to be working.

What strategies do you use? I'm just not getting it.

So I've been admitted and got my financial aid award letter and it was shocking to say the least. They are going to let me take the LSAT again and if I score higher I can report that score and have my scholarship increased with the possibility of a full ride.

I took the LSAT in sept and got a 149. I prepped hard and totally bombed my best section LR. I went -3/5 on the other sections and averaged a 156 on prep tests.

my question is:

Where do I even begin?

I would absolutely report it. When the times comes for your character & fitness check it will come up and negatively affect you. You will be glad you did, even though its petty, they take everything into consideration.

Analysis of recorded PT.

Okay so I scored a 162 on PT 71 and 178 on BR.

Stats:

-6 S1

-0 BR S1

After recording, I noticed something alarming. On LR Section one I spent:

13:47 on just 4 of the hardest questions (I got all right)

6:15 on the 6 questions I got wrong.

All of the questions I got wrong I spent around a minute on each. I spent very little time on the questions I got wrong that I didn't think were hard and much more time on the perceived hard questions.

You guys need to record yourself taking PT's to see where you're sinking time and maybe not spending enough time.

Does anyone have any more tips for recording? What to look for? How to tweak my strategy?

Really needing some guidance

I've finished the CC and have taken a few exams averaging 155. I BR in the mid 160's. I'm stuck at a plateau. I need some guidance on some hardcore prep for scoring at least a 160 on the sept LSAT. Currently making flash cards to review some core concepts and starting to practice reading comp. (Yeah, haven't given it much attention).

Logic games: averaging -5 (simple mistakes that are currently being fixed)

Logical reasoning: averaging -8 currently hung up on flaw and parallel method of reasoning questions)

Reading comp: 90% of my problem is time. -3 on BR

QUESTIONS:

What are your post CC techniques or tips?

What's the best way to really break through a 155 plateau?

Best course of action to really destroy Reading comp?

Rest made my score jump

So I just realized that the highest score I've ever gotten on a PT was directly after a weekend camping trip in which I did not think about the LSAT once.

Then this week I've prepped a solid 12+ hours and took 2 PT's and scored 3/5 points lower. There might be a correlation between completely forgetting about the LSAT for a few days and coming back with a fresh mind.

I think I'm approaching complete burn out.

Getting progressively worse on RC

I've been really hitting RC hard. I'm averaging -4 all other sections, but RC I've been doing worse and worse the more I practice.

I got a 10 out of 27 on PT 72.

and a 14 out of 27 on PT 63.

I'm not sure what Im doing wrong. I'm getting super discouraged.

Any RC tips?

Yes it is worth it. Just a few more points on the LSAT could mean thousands in scholarships or even the difference in getting in or not getting into a school.

Barbri one L prep is $500 and Kaplan is $100.

Okay so I did the 7Sage LSAT course and got fairly close to the score I wanted on the LSAT. I had 2 addenda (yes I made mistakes) but got the call a few months ago that I GOT IN!!!

anyways, do you think a 1L prep course is worth it? Should we learn a little background before we start this fall?

I would def recommend 7 sage ultimate+. The question bundles have made a huge difference in my score. I would treat it like a full time job for the most part. If you want a high score you have to make sure you're devoting enough time to it.

So....Where do I go from here?

I am currently PT'ing around 161-162 and BR'ing 172-174. I'm aiming for 165+ on the June test.

by section I'm missing:

LR: 8-10 total

LG:3-4

RC:8-12

I know the fundamentals. Worked with an excellent tutor for RC. I seem to be choosing the attractor choice over the correct answer in LR and running out of time in LG. RC is about the best its going to get.

My questions are:

Where should I go from here?

Any strategies I could play around with to speed up?

No I wouldn't. I tried the trainer and didn't get much from it. I use velocity LSAT prep as well and it has been a huge help. You could get through all the videos in a month too. I would definitely recommend it.

@ thank you so much for your inspiring words

Hey all! Hope all is well. I'm starting to take full tests in preparation for the June LSAT. I'm averaging 161 thus far and would like to be around 165.

Any tips?

Also, with a 2 week old baby, working a job (quit my 2nd to study more), family life, and household obligations... how do you guys find a balance?

RC score highest EVER

okay here is what I did. I scored the lowest I've ever scored on an RC section a week ago. I thought well damn the test is a week away I'm fucked. So I thought.. Zack you know how to read what the hell is your issue. Basically beat myself up for a solid day. Then I decided that I'm going to take my time up front reading the passages and have a SOLID grasp on the questions.

I scored the highest I have ever gotten simply by slowing down and fully comprehending the passages, rather than trying to read faster than I was comprehending.

me trying to read....

I absolutely agree 100%. I took the Dec test last year and this Sept test and only scored 3 points higher. I studied my ass off, well over 30 hours a week taking 25 prep tests. I psyched myself out and preformed poorly.

I agree with you 100% about having the right mindset!

I'm in the exact same position as you. I have found that doing the LG and LR bundles from 1-59 have been a tremendous help. I also bought Velocity LSAT prep course and it has been super helpful. I'm up 12-14 points from my Sept 2017 score.

Wanted to say Thank you.

Over the course of 2 years I took the LSAT 3 times and studied my ass off. I spent countless hours learning, reading this forum and taking PT's... I had an excellent tutor @Sami (even though I'm a bad student). I wanted to say thank you to everyone who contributes to this forum, Sami and 7Sage as a whole.

End result: I got about $450 a semester shy of a full ride to my choice law school and couldn't have done it without you guys.

Any tips for RC?

Hey there I'm averaging -11 on RC. (156) I have done the CC method of RC and my score went up a little, but does anyone have any tips to further increase my score?

Particularly tips for speed. If I skip a passage I get -0 on the passage in which I take a little more time.

Any and every bit of info will be appreciated. Thanks :D

Needing help with LR

So I'm going -2 to -6 per section on LR.

I am missing a wide range of questions it's not just a specific question type. Does anyone have some advice or what has helped them for prepping?

I'm using all the time allotted.

BR'ing to -1 or -2.

What have you guys done to get LR down to -0?

I took the DEC lsat and scored 146 (Used Blueprint LSAT course), Now I'm scoring around 155-160 on the practice exams. The questions I'm missing are stupid mistakes however. I always have it narrowed to two possible choices on LR and I'm choosing the incorrect one. My goal is to score 160+ on the Sept test. Any ideas on how I could resolve this issue?

Bit of advice for everyone

So we've all been working hard to get to our desired LSAT score...Countless hours of learning new things only to make small improvements in hopes of getting into our desired school. At the end of the day, you own the LSAT, it does not own you. No matter your score, at the end of the day, this is a very small step within the bigger picture called life.

The LSAT does not determine your self worth. Whether you get a 180 or a 140, you're still on the right track. Pick yourself up and go into battle.

Parallel Questions

I am having some real difficulty with parallel questions. Could anyone explain how to do these in their own words? How do you guys attack them?

I would print out the LR problem sets by type and work on those and really figure out where your weaknesses are. I started doing this and immediately improved quite a bit. I'm taking it in June again as well and was already accepted into law school but more scholarship money is in the horizon.

Keep at it!! you got this

Okay so I bought The LSAT Trainer book and read just the RC section and did the practice drills. Well, I took my first full length timed RC section (PT 47) and scored absolutely horrible! missing 6/8 more than normal. Is PT 47 just unusually hard or did I screw up my RC strategies?

I can assure you100% that a prep course is necessary. I've taken the LSAT twice and will be taking it for a 3rd time in June and am still learning things.

You without a doubt should do some sort of prep course.

This is a bullshit question.

I'd like to really hammer down and improve my RC score. What are the best things to read to improve RC score? My problem is reading speed/comprehension and just a general lack of reading. I have the LSAT Trainer on the way so hoping that'll help as well. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
