Hey guys just wanted to update, since my post I've drilled flaw and went back to read the Trainer and Manhattan LR book right after my BR, and today I finally got a 170!!! Might be a little luck but I realized I really needed to focus on drilling my weak points and going back to the basics of identifying the gaps in the arguments, looking for key points in RC, and skipping skipping skipping (most important thing) hard questions and passages to not waste time (previously went in order). I saw a bunch of threads about what to do in the last 2weeks, definitely keep working on it, hopefully it keeps working for me too!

Good luck

Losing Hope - found a solution!

Hi All,

I've been studying for almost a year now on and off with a full time job and have finally reached the mid - high 160s. The past 10+ PTs (60s) I've been scoring around 165 - I am STILL having trouble finishing the last passage on RC (mainly guessing after reading) and miss at least 2-3 questions on LR (NA, PSA, and FLAW). BR is consistently in the 170s.

For the Oct LSAT, Should I be drilling LR / RC before completing the last 4 PTs (68-71)? Or just go straight in to the exams and BR? I wish there was more time. I am a splitter and really need the 170. I'm really losing hope after plateauing and not being able to finish all the questions in time.

Looking for some feedback on anyone who has been / or is in the same situation. I've booked off work until the exam so I'm hoping to squeeze as many points out of the last 2 weeks of prep that I can.

Thanks,

Mike

Wondering what your strategy is regarding RC review and JYs video that breaks down the passage. I understand the passage, but usually dont watch his video that reads through the passage. RC is my worst section and I wonder if I'm missing out by not watching the video. Thanks!

Try using spreeder and reading the economist, New York Times opinions, wall street journal, American lawyer and scientific American. I use the 7 sage method when reading those articles

Hello,

I'm currently in the mid 160s with 170+ BRs up to PT 61. I find I am usually -6 to -4 on LR for each section (total -8 to -12 on LR) and -8 to -10 on RC. Most of the time, I am getting 0 on LG. What should I focus more on for a 170+ in Oct? LR or RC? I'm BRing consistently and haven't had much time for anything other than reading articles, PTing, BRing, and evaluation of incorrect answers.

Thanks for the help and good luck to all

+ everyone above's advice, I started in 140s in Nov 2014 with a full time job 60+ hours/week, i'm now in the mid 160 and consistent 170+ BR range having been out of school for 3+ years. You can do it don't give up! From what i've heard many people break the mid 160 pleateau in their final month / 2 weeks before the exam. I found that my score starting improving the most after doing 2+ PTs a week and 35min sections where I was weak whenever I could. BR is also key. Good luck all
