Mickey argument :
the premises in the mickey argument claim that Walt has a pass, that there are ONLY two ways to get a pass (1st way OR 2nd way) and that Walt did not receive his pass the 1st way. If we assume all those premises (claims) are true, then the conclusion that Walt received his pass the 2nd way is true.
strong argument, conclusion is well supported by the premises
Trash bin argument : less strong, not certain because the premises don’t guarantee the conclusion is true.
The premises claim the bin is toppled, the cat is on the counter and that the cat likely ate from the bin (because of his expression). The conclusion is that Mr. Fat Cat knocked over the trash in order to eat it. This is still an argument but it isn’t very strong because even if we assume all the premises are true it doesn’t guarantee the conclusion. Based on those claims it’s not guaranteed that the cat did it, or that it was intentional, just that he was there. (He could have found it already spilt, knocked it over by accident, knocked it over without knowing there was food in it, etc.)
does anyone know if its possible/how to print these examples to keep a wrong answers diary ?
