Any 170+ takers in Chi grinding the 170-175 curve before the August exam in Chicago?
Meet ups in Cook county law library downtown.
I'd like to join as well, started studying at the start of the year, scored in the mid 160s in every PT, trying to break 170 before june
I started in the in the low 150s back in Jan and am scoring in the high 160s now, trying to break 170. Keep a wrong answer journal and really focus on understanding the common modes of reasoning in LR and author POV in RC. It's a long process, so don't rush it. Take it a day at a time.

Try taking a week off, no bs, no lsat, just vibes. Also stop drinking if you haven't done that
You think that would help? Im a very every day long gym and ling study guy. Everyday this summer Ive lifted and then studied, i have been feeling very burnt out recently, making more ‘stupid’ mistakes in the lower difficulty questions, and losing the edge I was getting on the hard questions
Yes! After a very mid June LSAT score I took a whole month off to travel and hike, when I came back and did my first PT my score went up by 5 points. I'm a big advocate for having time off the LSAT. Like the gym you grind for a couple hours a day, then say after 7 PM you should stop thinking about the LSAT and do other things until your routine resets the next day. Also take one day a week completely off. You can't force gains in one day, same with LSAT. Attitude and mental clarity is probably the most important factors during a long study summer. Your brain needs time off the LSAT to comprehend the things it learned.

I used to struggle really bad with RC too, getting like (I remember getting -8,-9 this Feburary). Today I hit a -1 (-0 BR) on an RC section on my PT for the first time. I wouldn't focus on the star system because it's highly dependent on the individual. Focus on low-level summaries and reading. Don't worry about timing for now and try to get the author's POV and other's POVs down first. Good luck!
Try breaking a full RC section down to the passages, aim to spend 8-9 minutes per passage. Take a break after each passage but don't BR until you finish the whole thing. Pay attention to author POV.
I broke 170 for the first time yesterday after taking 2 weeks completely off after the June exam, which I got an 167 on. (I was scoring in the mid-high 160s before the June exam so that was exactly as I expected). I'd say take some time off and approach the LSAT with a new lens.
yes, get the score review. Considering the time you have I think you will definiitly score higher in Aug if you lock in. (I'm in the same position, recently decided to let go about my summer dreams and lock in for 3 more months to break 170)
If it's any help, when I do individual sections I usually get like 1-2 per section wrong, but when I do the whole PT, I get like 3-4 wrong per section. Obviously timing makes a difference, I'd say. When I split up individual sections to 5 questions a time or a passage a time, the error rate goes down even more, I think part of the challenge is the intense focus you have to maintain through the 3 hours.
making alma proud! ILL!!!!!
