Could it be because of daylight saving? Does the same for me.

That would absolutely make sense! If that's the case, when we check back after daylight savings the timer should be accurate. Thanks :)

@ @ Weird, hopefully the issue gets fixed sooner than only 2 days prior to the test (my anxiety brain doesn't want to keep worrying about this). Let me know if either of you have some sort of resolution!

Hi everyone!

Second time writer here (first exam was January 2021). I scheduled my November exam this morning, but for some reason the ProctorU countdown timer has added an additional hour from the actual time I picked. The correct time zone is showing on the scheduled date and time, it is just the timer that is off. From my previous experience with ProctorU in January, I am aware that once the timer runs out, you can start the check in process for your exam.

I tried to chat with a live agent about this to fix the timer but they told me to simply check back 2 days prior to the exam.

Has anyone else had a similar experience? Thank you!

LSAT Questions > Problem Sets. Select the type of problem set you would like to build, then click 'Create Problem Set with X (whatever you have selected)'. A new screen to begin the problem set will appear, where you can modify the time, theme, etc.

Hope this helps!

In my opinion, I think building stamina takes little bits of increased efforts over a long period of time. I have been out of school for a few years so I have also found it challenging to sustain mental focus for long periods of time. But slowly I have built my way back up, by steadily increasing my study time over a few weeks (maybe even months).

For example, week one was spent studying just 1 hour per day. The next week, I would increase my daily study time by 30 minutes, 45 minutes, whatever felt good. I stop when my brain starts to feel like it can't retain anymore and make sure to take a day off at least once per week to recover. Depending on what other factors are going on in your life (working full time, extracurriculars, other responsibilities, etc), you may have to be constantly making adjustments to your schedule. Healthy habits to prevent burn out are crucial!

Also, getting into the habit of taking full length practice tests (I have been doing once a week) is a good way of training your brain to gear up for the real test. At first, it feels really daunting and exhausting. But after a few weeks of consistently working on it, you'll hopefully start to feel your stamina increase!

Hi! The types of questions you get wrong in BR may reveal some gaps in your knowledge of the core curriculum. Start there, or whatever you felt rusty on. The analytics page is also helpful to identify if there are particular question types that you struggle with as well.

You got this!!

Thank you for this!!

I will claim this positive energy and score a 160+ on the November 2021 LSAT!

Nice work everyone!

I personally don't take this approach, but it doesn't seem like there is anything wrong with doing so. I usually just do the section in order, skip a game and come back to it at the end if I am stumped.

I have been trying to practice each type of game according to my personal strengths/weaknesses (spend more practicing game types I struggle with), that way it doesn't really matter which order I do the games in if I am equally comfortable with all.

But usually skip the misc games!

Good luck if you're writing in November!! :)

I personally have a different approach than this ^ comment, and that's totally okay!

I don't make all the inferences all the time either, and am pretty consistent with scoring -1 or so in LG sections under time.

I don't usually explicitly split up the game boards, I found it was too much of a time sink for me if I didn't see the inference right away. I do write down inferences directly on my set up and just make a mental note of it... I think I am just quick at plugging all the answers into my existing setup if I don't see the answer right away.

@ It probably is. I reviewed my latest results and redid every question I had gotten wrong. I got them all correct without the time constraint. I didn't take much longer, but I think I moved too quickly and made silly mistakes when I was in there. If I had gotten those right, I'd be at ~170. The pressure is tough.

Totally. Well, that probably means you have all the skills to succeed! At this point, it would probably help most to head into the test fresh. If you can afford to take a day or two off work before Saturday, go for lunch at your fav spot, walk around the neighbourhood, get a few extra hours of sleep... you'll crush it!

I would suggest identifying what exactly about LG makes you frustrated/angry. Is it a missed inference, a particular game type or question type? Find out what that is so you can target those types of games and questions, and repeatedly practice them until it becomes pretty well muscle memory. Personally, when I am completing blind review, I sit there for however long it takes to see how I could have made an inference faster under time.

The LG section has a pretty limited number of game types and questions (unless it is a Misc game), and I think you maybe just need to spend more time practicing to see those patterns.

Best of luck, you got this!

Could also be due to burn out? If you have a lot of life events happening and are trying to force your brain to keep going when it's tired, pushing it might be hurting your scores. If you feel like you absolutely need to write in November, perhaps take a couple days off of studying and try to get a good rest.

Good luck, however you decide to move forward! :)

Hope this post finds everyone well!

I have plateaued at the 158-160 range and am looking to jump to the mid-high 160s before the January test. I am averaging -7 on LR, -10 on LG, and -7 on RC. Any tips on what worked for you?

Thanks in advance!

I would also recommend working on LG as you can see massive gains fairly quickly in this section. Identify what it is that has you getting your current score on LG sections - are you running out of time? Is it a particular game type that you have troubles with?

Whatever the issue is, hopefully you can hone in and focus on it. Try doing practice sections more frequently, as well as spending lots of time figuring out the inferences in each game during blind review. It helps to try to figure it out yourself before heading into the video explanations.

Good luck!! :)

I initially tried to format it as a table as a grouping game, but on blind review I found it a lot easier to answer the questions just by treating it as a sequencing game (and marking 2 - 5 as "the same" and marking 3 as "not P"). Is there a lesson I should review here?

I did the same (first grouping then sequencing set up), since the answer choices suggested this game to have a sequencing set up as well.

My state doesn't do DST, but isn't tonight when everyone falls back?

Yes it indeed was for my area, I think that is what the issue was!

After taking some time away from LG, I would recommend re-introducing LG by doing some easy-rated games of each type to slowly build back up your confidence. At least that's what I did, just to help get back in the mindset!

Good luck, you can do this!!

Buckle down on a consistent LG score, it is the quickest section (in my opinion) to improve on! :)

For each test administration there is usually at least one day offered on the weekend - is taking one day off your internship to test in January not an option for you?

I think it is also worth considering what type of score you are hoping to achieve on this test. If you are PT'ing right around your goal score, I would say go for November. If you are looking to get several points higher, it might be difficult to realistically achieve if you have not hit that goal score on a PT yet. There is also nothing wrong with delaying your test until the next application cycle (probably not what you want, I know it's not ideal).

Sorry this isn't great advice, just hoping it can help you brainstorm. Best of luck, you got this!!

Confirm action

Are you sure?
