Still can't improve on this... :(

I got a really low score on my first LSAT too, but 7sage has put me on the right track and has helped me achieve the confidence I need to improve. I personally wish I had found this site earlier. Anything is possible, there is no "limit" on how much one can improve. Try the basic package, and if you see improvement you can always purchase the ultimate package by paying the difference. (I have the ultimate package, its by far my best purchase in LSAT prep)

Follow your goals. If this is what you really want to do, put in the time to achieve it.

Don't let others bring you down. This is your life, your goal, your dream.

Not sure about schools in the US, but I know that in Canada the schools have rolling applications, which means they consider your application on an on-going basis. If your application is not "competitive" with your September score, it will be re-evaluated once the December scores come out. The schools can see all your scores, however, many will take your highest score for admission purposes.

If you find that you are struggling with a particular Question Type (ex. Parallel Method / Parallel Flaw) skip it, move on to the other questions and come back to it, time permitting.

For me, I find these take up too much time, and my accuracy rate is not nearly as close as with the other question types. This tactic helped me improve my timing strategy to complete the sections on time.

Hey There!

I've worked as a legal assistant (intern) a few years back. Apart from that I have had 3 stellar co-op placements at Fortune 500 companies. Although they are not law related, I have done a fair bit of cover letter writing.

I could look it over for you, if you would like :)

Well the problem is now that I pretty much depleted all the LSATs.

I've done all the drills on here, as well as the drills in LR Encyclopedia by Nathan Fox

Stupid Errors

Anyone else find they are making stupid mistakes on Logical Reasoning...?

I usually score between -6 to -8 on these sections when I do them timed.

Once I complete a Logical Reasoning section I re-print the section and do all the questions un-timed as Blind Review, without looking at the answer choices I circled before. (I still do the questions fairly quickly)

I find that when I go over them a second time, I only get 3-4 wrong... Does anyone else have this problem?

Any steps I can take to get these right on the first attempt? There seems to be no pattern as to the questions types that I am missing.

Hey there,

You actually have to manually add a section from another PT in order to write a 5 section timed LSAT.

Your score will not be skewed, as on the real LSAT, the "experimental" section does not count towards your LSAT score. If anything, it all comes down to your mental fatigue level of writing 5 vs 4 sections during prep. No one knows which section is experimental while writing the LSAT, so you just have to give it all you got on all 5 sections.

I'd say the biggest improvement to snipe would be via Logic Games, depending on how you are currently scoring. The newer LG stunned me at first, but I have slowly adjusted to them.

Apart from that, looking over the more recent PTs, and checking your incorrect answers is probably our best bet for final improvements.

I definitely found the RC sections harder in the newer exams, specifically 52+.

As mentioned above, the LG sections in the 70s+ seem to have 2 easy games, one medium and then a game from hell.... Which has lowered my score on the recent PTs.

Thanks for the post :)

Really needed this.

Yeah, I'm trying to not let it get to me, its a one off exam. Was just wondering if the overall difficulty was greater, or if it was just me. I'll analyze and see where I went wrong tomorrow.

Also, thanks for the encouragement haha

Anyone else get destroyed by PT 72!?

I just took PT 72 as a timed 4 section exam. Got completely destroyed.

Not the best mental state to be in 3 weeks before the December exam...

Was this just an incredibly hard one? Did anyone else have this issue?

General rule here is that your score will be the average of your most recent 3 PTs +/- 3 points.

Problems with Humanities/Diversity Passages

Hello,

I find that I really struggle with Humanities/Diversity passage types. Especially when they talk about a particular author/artist...

I usually score -1 or -2 on all other passage types, but these tend to give me the most difficulty, getting up to 3-5 questions wrong per passage...

Anyone else have/had this problem?

Any hints on how to improve on these passage types?

I saw a drop in my score as well, going into the PT 60+

Reading comp is a killer...

I'd say the best bet is to just look over the incorrect answers from your previous PTs, review and try to understand your mistakes.

I am also writing in December, and only have a few exams left. At the very least, we will be able to do PT 73 before the big test.

Definitely do the newer PTs timed, as if they were the December LSAT. The most recent LSATs are be the best illustration of what we can expect come December.

Well at least you are in the mid 160s then, I really struggle with RC, so when I get into the 160's I am the happiest man alive haha

I hated them too, turns out Logic Games are now my best section. Scoring around (-1 to -4 max)... Just takes practice, put in the time and you will see great results!

Just remember, all answer choices have a 20% chance of being correct! I had a PT where on one section there was only 2 E's... and I was like noooo way? This must be wrong.

It wasn't. They are in a position to play psychological games with us, don't let that distract you!

I only have a few prep-tests left over myself... would definitely just look over the mistakes you had in the previous PT's and try to understand where you went wrong. Re-doing full PTs which were previously done isn't really much help.

I found the Logic Games got tougher LSAT 63-70... :\

Hey, I find that I prefer to answer questions on paper rather than from the monitor as well. Just purchase LSAC's "The Next 10 Actual, Official LSAT Preptest" book. That way when you go through the syllabus you can just search the questions in the book and answer them on paper, rather than reading and answering from the monitor.

As for the problem sets, I just print them off

The games section was brutal. I never got more than 4-7 wrong on LG, but got destroyed on this LSAT....

Confirm action

Are you sure?
