Thanks all for the response. Moving forward, I will be taking two PT's a week until the June test on LawHub and do my best to simulate test day. Drilling weak points when necessary. PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE!!

Good luck to you all moving forward, remember that these are the moments that count the most, how you show up for yourself after defeat. I am proud of you all for taking on this journey and moving forward despite what feels right now like intense failure. I am pleased to be part of such an uplifting community! Keep grinding, folks!

I would use the CC to take a fresh perspective on your hardest question types. If you struggle with LG, 7Sage made it super simple and easy to understand. With RC, I suggest going through the method/approach in the CC. Creating low contrast summaries of each paragraphs really helped me to remember what I was reading by the time I got to the end. Take as many PT’s as you can and use those analytics to target your weak points. Good luck!!

It was also a huge surprise when I saw my score! I felt like I did way better than Jan but in fact did worse. I was confident I was in high 150s, even low 160s.

I'm starting over to review everything about my approach in studying.

I honestly think the difference between tests with new test writers have a significant impact. Answer choices require much more depth in thinking to eliminate and analysis.

I honestly am just ready to accept with whatever I get on Aug and move on.

Good luck to you on the next one and dont beat yourself up!

Alex

How do you plan on moving forward with studying? I also feel as if I need to reevaluate my current methods. I am thinking of taking my PT's on lawhub until June. I only took the May 2020 on lawhub before the April test, I then transferred my answers to 7sage so I could BR and have those analytics. I'm thinking that a higher level of comfort with the interface will aid in studying for the June exam. I'm also thinking of looking at analytics and drilling areas I could use improvement. Although I can't shake the feeling that these newer tests are much different than the older ones. The April exam I took felt wayyyy different than the ones I have been using to practice.... :/

April Score

All I gotta say is... yikes. Well bellow my 7sage PT median. I had a troubling proctor experience and this is my first take, although I take full responsibility for my score (149). My goal score was a 158+. It was incomprehensible for me to even score in the 140's. Anyways, I'm curious how everyone is feeling with their scores. With this shaping up to be an extremely competitive cycle, there's no time to waste. I will begin studying for the June exam this weekend.

Any advance, words of encouragement, or personal experiences with receiving a score so unexpectedly low would be appreciated. As a first gen 0L, I don't have people in my circle to speak to about this. Thanks all!

No, you can’t schedule your test until June 3rd @ @. OP’s information is inconsistent with what LSAC has communicated to me and my friends, at least. It doesn’t say anywhere in the email that Friday is even an option for any test taker.

I received an email from LSAC saying scheduling opens June 3 @ 12 PT ET. The days the test will be administered are as follows: 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. ET on Saturday, June 12 and Sunday, June 13, and 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. ET on Tuesday, June 15.

Are you saying 3 out of the 4 games weren't standard, as in sequencing or grouping? were they games where you had seen things similar, or did they all feel brand new? I feel in all the PT's I've done, only 1 of the 4 games has been "misc.

3/4 games were not standard and one sequencing. It was terrible. Truly evil @ writers

If you are actively studying 9:30-5 PM (phone away, full attention and minimal breaks) I would absolutely suggest taking all day Saturday and Sunday off to rest. I have been studying 30-35 hours a week and still find myself burnt out every now and then. Burnout is counter-productive to your goal (although it will likely happen), trying to minimize it as much as possible will help you not get frustrated in the process if you reach a plateau or experience degression. With about 6 months until the October exam, you should be able to get to a place where you feel ready for anything that comes up if you are actively studying 40 hours a week. With that said... listen to your mind and body when you need rest. Rest is essential to growth, my friend! Good luck!!

Thank you both for your insight. I've been stressing about what admissions committees will think if they see 3 scores, but your comments eased my mind. Getting a good score is the most important factor it seems, even if it takes a few tries to get there. Thank you again!

I am having the same debate with myself. I read there's a negative stigma around cancelling but would it be worse than having a June score show lower then April? I am in the same boat as you. Following this thread hopefully for some insight

Best of luck to you! I have seen your posts before and I know how hard you have worked on this test : )

Thank you so much! I appreciate your kind words... best of luck to you as well :)

Take LSAT 3 times??

Hi, I'm wondering if there is a negative stigma against taking the LSAT 3 times?

I just took the June exam and although I didn't feel it was too hard, my nerves got the best of me during LG and I do not think I preformed well.. LG was really the section that I needed to do well on to carry me into my goal score. I am considering signing up for August depending on what my actual score it, and if my score is as low as I am thinking, I will have no choice but to take the exam again.

My question for you all is this: does it look bad to have three tests on your application? Do law schools look at it negatively if you received two not so great scores? I have been consistently scoring above my goal score for the last 7 weeks of prep. I know I am capable of it, I just need to find a way not to let the nerves in. I was honestly considering cancelling this score, but I read that definitely carries a negative stigma. Any knowledge on this matter would be greatly appreciated!

Hi! As of now I am taking two full timed PT's a week on LawHub (LSAC's interface), transferring the answers to 7sage, then doing blind review + full review. I am drilling weak points as necessary (specific question types & weakest game types). I will be carrying this schedule into the week of the exam, where I will take one PT + in depth review, then taking the day before the real test off to decompress. If you feel you need more practice with LG, I would do as many as you can before the test. One game a day at least... (possibly full game sections if necessary). I hope this is helpful! Good luck!!!

LR felt average. I had a difficult game that I ended up coming back to at the end but ran out of time and had to guess. RC felt pretty difficult but that's my worse section anyways so there's usually room for some mess ups there and still receiving my goal score. Hoping and praying this is the end of my LSAT journey....

Hi, I also have recently had a difficult time with NA q's! They used to be my favorite as I thought of them as a puzzle, but lately I have found myself getting complacent, unable to parce out the language, making it difficult to find the correct AC. I am taking June test tomorrow, I have been reviewing the core curriculum on how to approach each question type. Being intentional about how you approach the question is key to getting the answers correct IMO. Maybe revisiting CC to refresh your mind on how to approach these q's will help. Good luck!

Taking tomorrow at noon!! My advice to those of you who have not yet taken: expect a hard test. That way, if it is hard- you were prepared and won't freak out over that realization mid test. And if it's easier than you were expecting, fantastic! I would also go as far to say expect a bad proctor experience. I had an awful proctor experience April which I wasn't expecting- that alone made my nerves heightened & messed with my clear mind. Tomorrow I will be going in expecting to experience trouble & difficulty, that way I will be prepared if it occurs. Stay focused and level headed. Have a plan of attack and get it done. If you put in the work, pretend its just a normal PT. Good luck everyone!! Sending you all positive energy, peace & blessings on this journey!

Hi! I am wondering what you thought of the difficulty in comparison to recent prep tests? Since so many people have signed up for this June test, I was worried they may administer a harder than usual PT.

As far as your performance goes, you cannot always forsee what the experience will be like, but if you do need to take it again, at least you have an idea of what to expect. I scored 149 on April exam (much lower than my average) when my goal was 158. I am taking again tomorrow hopefully to secure that 158+ score, but I can tell you as far as my experience, I feel much calmer and prepared this time around than in April. I firmly believe that if this is the right path for you, nothing will stop you from securing your goal score as long as you stay focused & continue to put in the work. But also, it is hard to gauge how you did right after the test, my advice is to take these next two weeks to relax and recuperate while you wait for your score. This test is damn hard and you should be super proud of yourself for finishing! Best of luck to you!

I am taking a PT today, reviewing only the questions I got wrong in depth, while light review on questions I got right. I will probably do a logic games section tomorrow and some flashcards to keep my mind fresh, but relax most of the day. Then test day on Sunday. If you feel you could gain value from one more PT, I say go for it! You know yourself best. Good luck!!!

Can't wait to take a few days to go off the grid (no wifi, phones, etc). With my current study schedule, having access to wifi is crucial for 6/7 days of the week lmao

I postponed the test 3 times. Took it when I felt ready. If you don't feel confident you'll be ready by June, you should probably postpone it.

Hi there! I currently work at a law firm part-time and study part-time and this has been a wonderful schedule for me. I agree with earlier comments, you will likely get burnt out if you really try to devote 40 hours a week to studying. My current schedule looks like this: M-F: wake up 7 AM, study 8 AM-12, break/lunch 12-12:45, work 1-5, workout 5:30-6:30, dinner and relax for the rest of the evening. I aim to give myself one full day off from studying (either Saturday or Sunday) and do extra stuff on the other day (drilling, full timed tests, etc). Comes out to about 25 hours a week. This has been such a blessing in my journey, I have made a 12 point improvement on my score over the course of 2 months. Everyone is different, just find how many hours you can realistically study a day without wanting to die (lol).. best of luck!!!

SKIP HARD GAMES AND QUESTIONS. Come back to them at the end after you've gone through the questions you feel most confident in. This has been a game changer in my prep. I wish I would have done this on April flex, as I spent too much time trying to figure out hard games at the beginning and threw me off for the rest of the section. Good luck :)

Upward Trend of GPA??

Hi all,

I'm writing because I am curious if anyone knows whether law schools care to see an upward trend in undergraduate GPA. My first two years were tough and I spent my later years working hard to earn mostly A's and a few B's just to raise my GPA. My final GPA is a 3.05. I am dedicated to law school and want to showcase my growth as a student and as an individual. I sat down with one of my recommenders and he said that he would like to touch on the financial issues I had as a young college student that affected my grades during the first two years. I am wondering if that is enough, or if I should touch on it in my personal statement, or write an addendum to bring light to the upward trend. Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated!

Also following. I was planning on taking a PT on Sunday and then another on Wednesday. I study on average 5-6 hours a day. Based off the comments on this post, it sounds others will be doing more leisure studying. I was planning on taking Friday off from studying before the test. Maybe I should reconsider intense studying before? Comments are welcomed on this matter!
