I just listened to one of the 7 Sage Podcast episodes with an admissions officer from Columbia, and she flat out said that they skim the writing sample just to confirm you took it seriously, rather than doodled or bs'd your way through it. My advice would be to let it go and put your effort into a stellar personal statement, clean resume, and unique diversity statement (all of which will be given more weight and time than the writing sample - per the podcast).

I actually disagree with some of the comments. I've been doing a PT everyday, sometimes 2, and I find that it is helping my confidence with test taking and improved focus. So on test day completing the test will feel routine. So far I've done this for a week and am taking exam on Oct 10, my score has improved by about 10 points between first PT and today. Good luck!

I literally cannot understand this question. I've stared at it for probably an hour between yesterday and today... #help

I think it's helpful to view this question in the context of a Flaw/Descriptive Weakening (#14 - experiments to reach a general conclusion / must provide a control group).

If the stimulus presented the information of a control group, it would help support the conclusion that the experiment proves the link.

AC C does help show a link in behavior but not between the experiment (premise) and the conclusion... but rather between the hypothesis and the conclusion.

I was between C & E.

JY didn't say this, however the stimulus uses the phrasing "if and when it [a society] collapsed." That made me pause and think "Wow, so every society is going to collapse one day." It stuck out as a strange qualifier the LSAT was putting into the question...

and proved to be the direct link to AC B.

Still got it wrong tho :)

That depends on what your definition of "is" is...

Jokes aside, this was my favorite lesson. It is encouraging to know that the hard work of learning these concepts the right way up front will pay off in the long run.

Also, As an ENTJ I like to see the big picture in order to understand all the minutiae it comprises, so this lesson brings these concepts home for me.
