For answer choice D, it's hard for me to say that "neglected" (ans choice D) means "hitherto unrecorded" (in the passage). Just because something isn't recorded, it doesn't mean that it's been neglected?!

For answer choice E, I felt the passage described the experiment but didn't identify its type. Is the LSAT expecting us to infer a general category of experiment from its description? How do I know when an inference like that is warranted versus when I'm supplying outside knowledge?

How does E's solving the issue of interference imply that that's the reason why massively parallel computers hadn't been used to model oil field flow prior? And just because it's a difficulty that E solved, it doesn't mean that that's what prevented others from using massively parallel computers. And how do we know that solving the interference issue is sufficient to infer that someone used or didn't use massively parallel computers?

I eliminated B because I thought the answer had to have 2 parties :(

This question was hard for me because all the answer choices were introducing content outside the stimulus, and up to this point of training, I was taught not to bring in outside information :(

Darn, I immediately crossed out answer choice A because it sounded so extreme.
