Agreed, it is the lack of distinctions that makes it seem arbitrary of when I could bring in those assumptions and when not to. I do understand that we are not supposed to be able to finish every question within the allotted time, but instances like this don't really measure intelligence or who well you are prepared, It has to do more with luck than anything else.
