Thank you J.Y. you’re a world-class teacher/mentor. The 7Sage podcast episode on the week/night before the test was specially helpful. Something about listening to all those success stories, as well as your wisdom gave me a great boost before my exams.

Never give up 💪🏼

I studied from April to November (30+ hr/wk). Took Nov Flex scored 168, I wasn’t willing to give up on the 170+ dream. Started studying rigorously again after 3 weeks between my Nov Flex and score release. Took Jan Flex and earned a 173! I hope this post motivates people to never quit and never settle 🙏🏼😎

I can’t thank JY and the fantastic team at 7Sage enough, couldn’t have done it without their fantastic resources!

@jackmullinkosson587 Thanks for the in depth reply, it is very helpful! I am planning on applying this coming October for Fall 2022. I was just accepted into a compressed (3 month) paralegal certification program at the University of California, Irvine. I am going to complete that and work as a paralegal until I start law school. It will allow me to get a third non-academic letter of recommendation under my belt, while also giving me some valuable experience. I want to devote a solid year to my personal statement(s) as I will be applying to approximately 14 schools.

I earned a 168 on my November Flex (my first real LSAT) I started out in the mid-140s as a diagnostic. It's been 3 weeks since I looked at any LSAT material. I registered yesterday to write again in January. I have taken every single PT (some of them twice). I was wondering how to choose which full PTs to take from now until January in order to maximize value.

Do I stick to PTs from the 40s and 50s so the material is not as fresh in my head or do I take some from the 70s and 80s anyway? If anyone has any other experience or advice pertaining to studying for a retake I would greatly appreciate it.

Not entirely sure how to approach this. I was taking a full length PT every other day towards the end of my studies. Is continuing on that course going to be effective? Or do I primarily focus on drilling and take 1-2 PTs a week? I truly appreciate you all for taking the time to read this.

Finished 5 minutes ago...I got the RC-LR-LG combo. LR was easy finished with 5 minutes extra. RC was a bit harder than average (3 star) yet I managed to finish with 30 secs of extra time on that. However, LG felt brutal. Been averaging -0 to -2 ended up with no time for 4 questions. Although I skipped around so the ones I did answer I was 99% confident. Didn't occur to me that I had to save time to guess for skipped questions until 4 seconds on the clock so I ended up only bubbling in 2 of them randomly 🤦🏻‍♂️ --- Does that kill my dreams of getting a 170+?

@chelseapichor156 They sent out the email with full instructions this morning. We all select our preferred date(s) on October 30th.

@jmarmaduke96714 Thanks that was fantastic. I feel my issues have to do with timing specially RC. I miss 3-5 each time around. I’ve noticed I’m comfortable with the first 3 passages but by the fourth I’m under a time crunch and I’m spending 2 mins reading and 3-4 mins on questions (even on 5 star passages with 6-7 questions). I usually finish them all but average 10-15 seconds per question. I’ll end up with 1-2 wrong on first 3 and 2-3 wrong on the last passage.

I’ve got guide posts that work for LR and LG. But I haven’t been able to figure out how to pace RC. Also I’ve never experienced having extra time on LR or RC. Occasionally I’m forced to leave a parallel question unanswered on LR due to time constraint.

Thanks again for spending time reading all this 🙏🏼

@zachverbit301 Thanks brother, that helped a lot. I feel like I've been psyching myself out a bit lately.

@emmavansertima97905-23 I'm confident we get to select which date works best for us on a first come first serve basis. I would recommend refreshing your email once every couple of hours if getting a specific time is a high priority for you --- don't stress yourself though one day earlier or later won't have any bearing on your hard work and preparation 💪🏼

I am signed up for the November LSAT Flex. I first studied for this test 2 years ago for about 3 months before having to set it aside for personal reasons. Started back up in May, after graduating from university, and studied for 6 months for 4-6 hours a day 7 days a week. My diagnostic from 2 years ago was a 149.

I've take almost every single PT some of them twice, except for 7 from the 80s that I'm planning on taking before test day. I am consistently scoring at a 169 without fail, I've surpassed 170 on four occasions but it's not consistent. My BR is always around 176. No matter what I try it feels like I can't get my actual score to reach that level.

My goal is a 170+. It feels like I've hit a plateau and its incredibly frustrating. Is it realistic for me to score above 170 on test day? Are there things I can do in my last week or so to increase my chances? Any advice would be greatly appreciated and thank you for taking the time to read this.

This is an excerpt from LSAC's "About the LSAT-Flex" page:

"When exactly will the test be administered?

The November LSAT-Flex will occur the week starting Saturday, November 7, 2020. We expect that most test takers will test on either Saturday, November 7; Sunday, November 8; Tuesday, November 10; or Wednesday, November 11, with a small number of tests occurring later in the week based on specific remote proctoring requirements. We will open the scheduling sign-up process about 9 days before the first day of testing in November. We will provide more information and instructions to test takers prior to that time."

They are going to send us all a sign-up email exactly 9 days before the 7th. It's inconveniently buried in the LSAC website.

Hi jdseidler-1,

I have not tried recording the reasons I missed specific questions in a journal. Will definitely give it a shot. Thanks.

Hi,

I have had fluctuating results on LR. I have been consistently scoring at the 166 level. I have broken into the 170s twice, and those times I managed -1 to -3 on LR. However, I have tests where I miss around 9 on on the LR and it really drags my score down [on BR I get almost every question I flag correct (scoring 170-174)]. I have been consistently scoring -3 to -4 on RC and -0 on LG.

So far, I have taken 14 PT's (36-50). If anyone would please share what specific steps they took to achieve consistency on LR I would really appreciate it. I am hoping to utilize your advice to make the most of PT's 51-89. It feels like I've hit a plateau for weeks now and it's incredibly frustrating.

Best Regards,

Noah
