Fool Proofing Tracker

Hi all, wondering if anyone would be willing to share their journey through fool proofing 1-35 games and also willing to share an excel tracker (I know some people have found using excel useful to track progress and I am someone who would benefit from having that information all neatly packaged). Please let me know if you have some time to explain your story or simply comment on this! Writing in November and looking to really improve my LG.

Thank you so much everyone! Y'all keep me motivated when i see the progression of scores some people have and i hope to oneday be able to share a similar story.

If you are talking about a low GPA and High LSAT splitter situation I can speak to this. Some really amazing Canadian law schools are definitely receptive to splitters. For example: Ottawa, Queens, Western, Dalhousie, Windsor, Saskatchewan, Calgary and even Osgoode sometimes (they are moving toward a more holistic process).I would say that if your best two years of undergrad are decent and your LSAT is above the 80th percentile, mixed with some solid ECs, LORs and a thoughtful PS you have a shot at any of these school.

That said, if your cGPA and B2 are both sub-par you're going to need an outstanding LSAT to compensate. I know people in Canada who have gotten into really amazing law schools with 3.0 cGPA and 160+ LSATs. A friend of mine was admitted to both U of T and Osgoode with a 3.1 cGPA (3.7 B2) and a 166. Take a look on lawstudents.ca (Admitted threads) to get an idea of how many splitters were admitted to the various Canadian law schools.

Don't ever think you cant get in because of a weak GPA/LSAT. Give it your all, play to your strengths in your apps and im sure you'll be fine. Feel free to PM me for additional info or just to talk about.

usually test in high 150s to low 160s with a few 165s. I usually go --5 or -6 in LR, --5 games and -7 or -8 RC. I think I don't completely have a solid grasp on all the LR question types (e.g., how to approach and discern wrong from right when im down to two choices) and I struggle with grouping games. RC I can speed read and often find myself reading too long and struggling between two answer choices.

Advice on Retaking

Hi guys, I took July 2019 yesterday and didn't feel as though it went too well. I think ill be writing October and I wanted to get advice on whether I should restudy certain topics, try to relearn everything but more concretely then drill and do PTs, or just do PrepTests and review them thoroughly. I have approx. 3 months. Let me know your thoughts or feel free to pm me with any experiences similar to mine.

Thank you guys!!!

Time Management

Hi guys, wondering if anyone with really good time management strats can reach out to me. I am consistently PTing in the mid to low 160s but I go over the time limit on at least one or two sections and I need to really cut this down. I am writing July but will most likely have to write October unless the lsat gods themselves bless me on the 15th and I walk out with a 160+ under time constraints.

Any help is amazing!

I would submit the change ASAP - as in today! Then maybe call them up by around Wednesday to follow up. OR you can submit it today and call LSAC tomorrow and let them know about the situation. Speaking to them directly would probably be best. Good luck!

Thanks! I submitted the request and am going to follow up tomorrow morning!

Problems with Grouping

Hi guys, I am still having some trouble with grouping games. I am pretty good at inferences (diminishing number of worlds and not both/or) and can complete most grouping games but for some I am literally stumped and cannot make it past the acceptable situation questions. For example, ive had trouble with: June 1993 Game 4; june 1992 game 2; Decembr 1991 game 4.

Also I had a lot of trouble October 1991 game 4 (I believe this is in/out sequencing).

Is it possible im having trouble with these games because they are fairly old? Any tips on how to improve on these other than fool proofing? I find for these tough games fool proofing will work but when I run into another hard grouping game I still cant do it.

Any insight is much appreciated!

UCLA Binding Early Admission

Hey guys, wanted to get your take on my situation. I am a Canadian student who graduated from the University of Toronto this year with an Honours BA. I finished with a UGPA of 3.54 and I am PT-ing in the 163-165 range right now. UCLA is my first choice for American schools and if I get in I will 100% accept the offer. I am wondering if it is worth it for me to apply early binding. I am not dead set on the US and will potentially go to U of T law if I am admitted but UCLA has always been a dream and I plan to practice in California. Would love to hear your thoughts!

I haven't seen the game and I will take a look shortly, but it sounds like this:

M --> S Contrapositive: /S --> /M means that if M then S but not the other way around. It sounds to me like number 23 has S and J as part of an answer choice which would be satisfying the necessary which does not trigger the rule AKA is irrelevant and M becomes a floater that could be in that AC or not in that AC. Hope this helps!
