For question 13, I chose B because of lines 17-18 ("Until that time, supercomputers had been used for oil field calculations, but because..."). Why wouldn't this be good enough evidence to support that, for this real-world problem, they hadn't thought of using massively parallel computers?
The lack of good design (which is answer choice E) is also good explanation for why parallel computers had not been used before 1989, but how do we know it's this reason and not the one above?
Answer choice D - I thought this might be an assumption we have to make, because if the other animals leave the SAME pheromones as tent caterpillars, then pheromones may not serve the purpose of communal foraging at all. And by bringing out this assumption, we are strengthening the argument. Is this incorrect?
Do sundays work for anyone? we can pick a place midtown.
Hey guys! Would love to form a small study group--we can have some discussions online (studypal sounds like a good idea) and also meet on alternate weekends. I'm in Forest Hills but would be happy to come to midtown/wherever. Scoring in the 165-169 range now and aiming for over 172
does anyone have a link for studypal?
I originally eliminated B because I thought that the phrase "absentee rate" meant the proportion of employees that would be absent on a given day. So of the 990 workers you've kept, 9.9% show up (like what you said, only ~980 show up) and your absentee rate hasn't dropped at all, it's stayed the same. Is that overcomplicating the answer?
