Did he choose them based on frequencies?
Such as...topics appear a lot in LSAT or if it is RC, structure (how arguments go on) appears a lot, if it is LR, frequently used flaw etc...??
Or did he just choose them randomly?
Just wondering!
Thanks,
Thank you both!
Appreciate your advice :)
RC is definitely my weakest section, so hopefully I can review well to improve it...

Hi,
After you do PTs, how do you review RC sections?
Do you re-do RC sections like you do for LG sections?
What is the best way to review it to increase scores...??
Thanks!
Hi,
@ The explanations in the SPs ARE how the LSAT sees it.
So do you think their LG explanations are good too? Are they different a lot from JY's diagrams?
I was assuming you are talking about explanations for LR, but do you mean explanations for all sections?
So they have those superprep I and II...I read some of their explanations but wonder whether I should read all of them.
Do you think they are helpful in knowing how they design the questions and what their thought process is?
(How they get to the correct answers etc.)
Thanks!
Would there be a long line during the rest time?
Thanks.
Just wondering...
Thank you guys! :)
Seems like taking rest when needed is very important if you want to study for a long span for LSAT.
Some of my friends said 3 months is enough etc etc, but it does not sound like so for LSAT...
(They took GRE/GMAT btw)
@ I think the skiing analogy is pretty good in that you have to figure out the lay of the mountain as you go. Where are the rocks? Where are the surprise twists? These are things that help me track back if I need to examine further.
@ I am looking for nouns that relate to the main argument
Thank you for your additional response!
I like the skiing metaphor, I'll try to pay attention to those phrases indicating the arg. flow :)
...without burn out?
If so, how??
@
Thanks! :D
Yeah I hear you...I haven't started much preparation for LG neither (mostly LR right now) but people say LG section is the most learnable section so I'm sure you'll be fine :)
&hope I'll be fine too...haha
@
Thank you so much! Yes, it helped a lot :)
"content" is a question asking specific content discussed in the passage right? (not too specific like line reference, but still ask what is true in the passage)
I hope I can establish how I should read RC passages soon...
Great to know how other people read, thank you a lot folks.
:D
More great advice, thank you so much!
@
So you just mark on the passages and do not write any sentences or words I guess?
Can I ask how often you go back to passages?
Thank you for the advice&great insight!
I wish I had time for reading outside materials...I'll try.
@ As you practice more you will build intuition around what small details are important to memorize and connect to other information.
Hi,
Can you give us some examples? What kind of "small details" are important?
Thanks, @
Good to know cuz this is kind of my first 70s PT, and I was like...are all passages in 70s this hard?! situation...
I heard 70s becomes harder, but I was kind of scared off by the mirror passage :(
Did you take Sept LSAT? Heard there was one hard passage too...wondering it was harder than this mirror passage...
@
Hi,
sorry to jump in but
Do you think the passages except the mirror passage in PT 71 are at moderate level or hard?
I found the mirror passage is hard, but wonder whether other ones are also hard compared to passages in other, later 70s passages...
@
Hi,
Thanks for the input.
Um, by saying "summary" do you mean summary of the content (the author agrees with the reversed left to right theory because....) or just "structure" such as "author's opinion about reversed left-to-right theory"?
Thanks
Hi @
Thank you for your reply!
Can I ask some questions?
So when you say
@ you do not need to know exactly what something means
So maybe we just need to know some name and whether the author agrees with it or not and if questions ask about the theory just go back to the passage and confirm what it means? Is this what you suggest?
How often do you go back to the passage?
I mean...for which questions?
I'm not sure how much info to retain by the1st round of reading...
Like, if you know which paragraph talks about someone's opinion, it maybe easy to look back the exact place, but for a question which asks really details about some theory etc it's kind of hard to even find the place to read again...or in this case should we just re-read the whole passage again?
Btw,
Do you take notes?
Okay...I'll do some more practice.
Reviewed the mirror passage, but still not sure whether the author agrees with the 1st group of scientist...
Thanks :)
@
@ 3) what are the key nouns/sentence subjects (ie the things doing things);
What does this mean? How do you know which noun is important and which one is not ?
Do you go back to the passage on detail questions?
How do you read passages?
Do you just scan the structure and not remember the details? And go back to the passage for each question? (or just questions asking the details?)..what does "read structure" really mean?? Like...1st paragraph is about background, 2nd is about critics...etc?
I just read the mirror passage in PT 71 and it completely scared me off...I listened to JY's explanation but still not sure what the passage is talking about.
What should we do on the test day if we have a passage like this one???
I missed 4 questions just within this passage...
@
Thanks!
Yeah maybe you are right.
@ Until you score an official 180, there is no click;)
Like this idea :)
@
Thanks for your advice!
luv the analogy lol
@
Ah, Inference&Must be true questions are my weakest question type...
CC is core curriculum right?
So you are still working with 7sage course, but already seeing "clicking"? :o
@
Thanks for your reply!
Yeah actually I prefer to read too and kinda surprised to find there are not so many notes...maybe I should supplement with other materials too? We'll see...
Thanks for the advice! :)
Ahh...thanks guys!
I guess I need more practice...
@
Did you read the Trainer after the 7sage curriculum?
There are too many prep materials these days and not really sure which one suits me...
I was also wondering about "drilling"...
I thought JY recommended to mix questions instead of doing the same type of questions in a row (maybe I misunderstood what he said?)...
Which is actually better??
A lot people say after studying for a while they have those "click" experience...
After how many PTs/questions/months you studied? When did this experience happen?
I wonder how it feels...I also see someone said they "smell" which answer is right/wrong.
How can people do this? By just seeing the question stem??
Thanks
@
Gotcha :)
Thanks for your advice!
Although it takes time, I do also find I learn a lot by comparing different explanations.
I'll continue to do that too. :)
lol
Thank you all for the advice!
@
I think what I wanted to ask before was about the official explanation and this time is about JY's explanation, but thanks :)
Glad to hear from the instructor himself!
@
What i f I could not figure out the correct reasoning even though I spend for a couple of hours? :(
Can I watch the explanation or should I have some reasoning before I listen to the video?
Speeding up would def. help to save time...1.7 is too fast for me but I guess I may wanna try smt like 1.4.
Btw who is J.Wang? I thought all explanations are from J.Y...(wait, they are different instructors right?)
Hi,
question...how do you know the question is 4 and 5 stars?
Where does it say??
And what about RC?
Do you listen to his explanations for each passage?
I do not want to miss anything, but at the same time I would like to spend time efficiently...and not sure which is better, listen to all of them or just the ones I'm not sure.
Hi,
For those who are in any 7sage courses, do you listen to all of his PT explanations?
(I mean PT you have done)
Or just questions you were not sure or got wrong?
I'm just wondering how other people use the explanations and resources.
Thanks!
Thanks for your replies :)
Btw sometimes I overthink answer choices...when do you know you can stop?
Too often I think too much...like "maybe this implies this? Mabe this choice miss that possibility" etc and when I read/listen to other's explanations I found it's really straightforward and simple sometimes...
@ Thanks :)
I wish there was structure templates for RC...I see there's a lesson for science, but not for other genre right? I'm weak at humanity passages.
have you listened to all lectures? Or just the ones you are interested in?
Not sure how to follow the lessons...
