Cracking principle and application Qs.

I'm having hard time to solve substitution Qs like PT61,S4,Q19, PT63,S1,Q18 or PT63,S3,Q22.

I've seen these kinds of Qs after PT60.

Whenever I encounter these kinds of questions, I can't usually pick the right answer. I feel much harder than regular principle or necessary assumption questions.

Is there any effective tactic to crack this kind of the Qs?

Please someone enlighten me.

Thanks in advance!

PT59 S2 Q22

The first section of the PT59's logical reasoning is quite killing me.

Anyway, I was stuck between B and C and then chose C. But the answer is A.

I thought B or C can block another possibility which can weaken the argument and enhance the argument that nutritious breakfasts can the only reason to increase productivity of Plant A.

So I still have no idea why B or C can't be an answer and why A is correct.

Can someone explain me A, B and C?

Thanks in advance!

PT59 S2 Q19

As far as I remember about conditional reasoning, if:

1. A-> B

2. C-> ~A

I can combine 1 and 2 (~B-> ~A: Contrapositive #1 and C-> ~A) and turn out C-> ~B.

So the diagram about the stimulus I thought was:

1: B-> A

2: L-> ~B

So contrapositive #1: ~A-> ~B

And I combined 1+2 and turned out L-> ~A, so that's why I chose E, but the answer is C.

So I have no idea why E is wrong. Am I missing something?

And why is C an answer?

Please someone explain me.

Thanks!

PT59 S2 Q8

I processed POE, chose B and know why it is an answer, but I can't entirely understand why E is wrong. E kept bugging me.

If more people choose cheddar cheese more than ice cream just as the stimulus said and which means people choose cheese over ice cream, can E be an answer too?

Why can't E be an answer?

Please someone enlighten me.

Thanks!

Hi, @! Thanks for the explanation. Now I can understand why E is an answer, but can you tell me why D is wrong?

I think D can weaken the argument too and I still cannot see why it is wrong.

Thanks in advance!

PT58 S4 Q2

I picked E but the answer is C. And I still don't understand why E is wrong.

I think E also can weaken the conclusion since it says "The physical effort~~~~does not stimulate circulation enough to warm your hands."

So Why can't E be an answer? And why is C right?

What's the difference between them?

Please someone explain me.

Thanks!

PT58 S1 Q24

I chose D but the answer is E. I still don't understand why D is wrong.

If the bear population in areas of the Abbimac Valley outside the Kiffer Forest Preserve has decreased, I think it can weaken the conclusion.

So Why can't D be an answer? And why is E right?

What's the difference between them?

Please someone explain me.

Thanks!

PT55.S1.Q21 - advertiser: most tv shows depend on

https://classic.7sage.com/lsat_explanations/lsat-55-section-1-question-21/

The principle I thought was

Premise: Not buy-> cancel

Conclusion: feel worth preserving-> buy.

So the gap is feel worth preserving-> NOT cancel

So that's why I chose D. But the answer is B. And I can't still find out why D is wrong and B is an answer.

Am I missing something?

Please someone explain me why D is incorrect and B is an right.

Oh and what's the differences between A and B? (They look almost identical to me.)

Thanks!

PT55 S1 Q20

I really don't understand why C is incorrect.

I think "there is another explanation~~" can match "since parthenogenesis is~" part in the stimulus.

Why is C incorrect and A an answer?

Please someone explain me.

Thanks!

PT55 S1 Q10

I really don't understand why D is incorrect and B has to be an answer.

Some explanations said D is too broad, but I don't see how it's too broad.

I think "in the same industry" can match fax industry so that I think D is correct.

Why is D incorrect and B an answer?

Please someone explain me.

Thanks!

Being unsure about choosing answers.

Whenever I take LR and RC from preptests (esp,LR), sometimes I can't be sure whether I pick the right answer.

When I choose an answer, I think like "Hmm..It looks like it's an answer." or "It might be right." and I choose and then move on to the next question even if I'm not sure about the answer. So half of the answers I choose are usually right and the other half are wrong.

So being unsure about choosing answers always makes me feel really worried and annoyed. Especially, PT50s and recent ones make me feel vulnerable and worried. I want to be sure and certain (e.g Yes, this is an answer!) when I pick answers.

How can I overcome about this problem?

Please someone give me advice.

Thanks!

PT51 S2 Q15

I was stuck between B and C and finally chose C because I thought "suggest that a particular approach be taken by the proponents of the assertion" from B didn't match the passage.

But the answer is B and I can't still find why C is wrong. It seems every words from C are match for the passage.

Why is C wrong and can B is an answer?

And which part of the passage is compatible with "suggest that a particular approach be taken by the proponents of the assertion" from B?

PT51 S3 Q11

I still don't understand why D is wrong.

Is it ("a band signed with a major label ~~"part from the stimulus) the phenomenon to support the main conclusion?

What's the difference between D and E?

Can anyone explain why D is wrong and E is an answer?

Thanks in advance!

PT47 S1 Q24

I don't understand why A can't be an answer and C is right.

The stimulus said "Instruction is available-> consumers would find it much easier to put together" and I should find out the situation which cannot always meet the principle.

I thought if it went like this Instruction is available-> consumers would "NOT" find it much easier to put together, so that's why I picked A.

But the answer is C. It's like Instruction is NOT available-> consumers would find it much easier to put together, right?

So how can C be an answer?

I mean when we find something against principles, shouldn't we find A-> NOT B (if the stimulus says A->B)?

So that's why I thought A is an answer because it's just like A->Not B (But C is "NOT A->B")

Can anyone explain why C is an answer and A is wrong?

Thanks!

PT47 S1 Q22

I tried to understand why C is an answer and B is wrong. But I still don't find out why.

I know the conclusion of the stimulus is this practice greatly increases the health risk~part.

When I looked C only, it made me think it attacked "this practice" part, not greatly increases the health risk to U.S consumers.

But for weaken and strengthen questions, we should attack/strengthen a "conclusion" as far as I know.

So I thought I should attack this practice greatly increases the health risk to U.S consumers which is the conclusion and tried to find out another possibility or sth (e.g "NOT increases the health risk to US consumer") even if

what the premises said. So that's why I chose B.

So I'm really confused how C is an answer, but B cannot be. Why C should be an answer and B is not?

And I really wonder how I can distinguish between which case I should attack the whole conclusion and attack just some/another part of the conclusion (just like "this practice" part in this question) when I encounter weaken/strengthen questions which means we should attack/strengthen a conclusion.

As far as I remember, I saw some of the weaken/strengthen questions that I shouldn't attack/strengthen the whole part of the conclusions just like this one.

Can anyone explain me?

Thanks!

PT39 S4 Q19

I couldn't pick between A and D and finally chose A. But the answer is D.

I kept trying to find out why A is wrong, but I still don't understand why A can't be an answer.

If A is an assumption, I think it all makes sense at all just like D.

Why A is wrong and D should be an answer?

Please someone explain me.

Thanks!

I was trying to find out what's the difference between C and D, but I still don't understand why C can't be an answer.

If there're no predators which pose a danger to the monkeys and attack both from land and the air just like C said, can C be an answer too because it can also explain why the monkeys use different alarm calls?

Why C can't be an answer and D is right?

What's the difference between them?

Please someone explain me.

I'm little confused about B.

The stimulus said Samantha likes both oolong and green tea and none of her friends likes both.

Doesn't it mean none of her friends like both oolong and green tea?

Since none of her friends likes oolong and green tea, shouldn't B be Must be false?

How is it possible B is could be true? What am I missing?

And if the stimulus said Samantha likes EITHER oolong OR green tea and none of her friends likes both, can B be Must be false?

Please someone explain me.

Thanks!

PT28.S1.Q26 - modern navigation systems

http://classic.7sage.com/lsat_explanations/lsat-28-section-1-question-26/

I chose D but the answer is E. I still don't understand why E is an answer.

If planes were first equipped with low-power circuitry "at about the same time" as portable electric devices got popular, can it be strengthening the stimulus?

Being at the "same time" made me think there're no other possibilities which could weaken the stimulus.

Can anyone explain why D can't be an answer and E can?

Thanks!

PT28.S1.Q25 - mckinley: a double-blind study

I really don't understand why C can't be an answer.

McKinley said the drug will have various effects on the patients' bodies. But he also said it will make us aware of "whether the patients are getting the drugs or a placebo" (Does it mean McKinley thought the placebo will produce no effects just like answer choice C?). So that's why I thought Engle said Mckinley assumed what the outcome of the study will be since McKinley said various effects of the drug AND whether the patients are getting the drugs or a placebo.

So can C be an answer?

Can anyone explain me why C can't be an answer and D is better?

Thanks!

I chose A for an answer, but I thought B could be an answer too because the stimulus said city codes classify pigs as livestock~~~ -> she would not be allowed to keep the pig~~~~. So it means pigs are not classified as pets just like B.

I have no idea why A is better than B and B can't be answer.

Can anyone explain me why A is an answer and B is wrong?

Thanks!

I tried to find out why A was wrong, but I still have no idea why. :(

Why A can't be an answer? Does highway traffic "has not increased" mean highway traffic is the same as a year ago?

So I think A also eliminates a possible alternative explanation for why there's a reduction in the number of highway traffic fatalities.

Can anyone explain why A is wrong and E is an answer?

Thanks!

I'm quite confused about Q.16.

I thought B and C could be right answers too, but I am still not sure why they're wrong. And I don't get why E is a better answer.

(B) The first and second paragraphs talked about outcomes analysis (Zirkel and Schoenfeld were enthusiastic about and criticized traditional legal research by using it.) Besides, L 13~15 also talked about the two scholars. So that's why I thought C could be an answer too.

(C) Because of L 2~6, I thought C could be an answer too.

What's the differences among E (which is the right answer), B and C?

And why is E is a better answer than them?

Please someone enlighten me.

Thanks in advance!
