@ yes! the proctor will ask at the beginning of the event if anyone has approved accommodations from LSAC, and you will share which ones you have via direct message. If your accommodations would cause the test to last longer than 4 hours, though, you will have to complete the test on your own after 5 pm ET. But come for most of the session! The Zoom will just close at 5.

Hey all, hopping in here to say I love this chain and would echo a lot of this advice about burnout! Remember, half of this test is mastering the mental game of building confidence and stamina, so your results actually reflect what you know! Beyond cutting back on hours and focusing on doing a bare minimum everyday, finding others to study with truly helps motivation over time. If you're looking for an easy way to meet study buddies, join us for our next "Study Group Breakout" on Tuesday, April 4th from 9:00-10:30pm ET.

Here's how it works:

Register for the Breakout no later than Monday, April 3rd.

Take PT55 Section 1 (based on 7Sage's numbering - should be an LR section) and Blind Review it, but DON'T look at the answers. I suggest you take it as a "Drill" rather than as a PrepTest! You can do this by going to the "Practice" tab and choosing "Drills," then selecting "Newer" PTs, selecting "Logical Reasoning," and scrolling to PT55 S1 (NOT S3, the other LR section for PT55). You will have to individually add each question to your drill, but hit "Create drill with 26 questions" at the bottom right when finished, and voila!

Log in to the Breakout Session at the appointed time. We will automatically place you in a group of 3-5 students with similar scores so you can review the section together.

At the end of the session, you can exchange emails and keep meeting if you enjoyed the group.

Hope to see you there! Register for the event using this link: https://7sage.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZwrdOmqrjMvGNGA_IKHJyltu4n7WwMVUSgX

June 3rd Proctored PT

If you're ready to get more practice taking a full LSAT Prep Test under simulated online proctor conditions, you're in the right place. On Saturday June 3rd, at 1 pm ET, we are offering a simulated remotely proctored PrepTest to better prepare for the June exam, or any LSAT in the future! Here's how our Proctored PTs work:

Register using this link: https://7sage.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZwocu-vrj4oGNZlNu89XJ8X9gyN1riIcBxm

Once you sign up, you'll receive an email from Zoom with the link to join the meeting.

Select a PT that you want to take for the proctored test. This can be any PT; we recommend one that you haven't seen yet and that is at least as recent as PT 50. You can take the PT through 7Sage, or, if you want to simulate real test-day conditions, you can log into LawHub and take it there.

Show up to the Zoom meeting 10 minutes before the scheduled start time (1:00 pm ET). You will all be prompted to complete a room scan at the same time (just as you will have to do on actual test day) and then put into a breakout room by yourself to complete the test.

Our 7Sage Proctor will monitor the testing process for the duration of your test and even simulate a pesky interruption. The Proctor will ask if anyone would like to be interrupted at the beginning of the session, and you will have the chance to privately message your preference. If only the ProctorU proctors would be so kind as to ask! If you have any approved accommodations, please let us know via private chat at the beginning of the session, so you can test with those.

If you have any other questions, please email bailey.luber@7sage.com. We hope to see you there!

7Sage Discord Study Server

Hi all,

🚨 Looking to meet other actual humans that are just as crazy as you to want to study for this beast of a test? 🚨

The search ends here, with our 7Sage Study Server on Discord.

If you've been following along with this story, you may remember our score-segmented Discord servers for finding study groups. If not, perfect! Ignore me. As we continue to learn how to make 7Sage a better place for everyone to learn the LSAT, we're streamlining the study spaces we offer to best meet your needs.

I've retired two of our servers ("145-155 Scorers" and "155-165 Scorers"), rebranded what used to be the "165-175+ Scorers," and will be inviting everyone currently in each of those servers to join our (unified) "7Sage Study Server!" We'll have more brilliant minds to lean on when you're stuck, more study sessions, and more discussions. If that overwhelms you, fear not, for there will still be channels to meet with smaller groups.

📣 To anyone looking for an ongoing study hub with multiple chatrooms and voice/video lounges all in one place, join us:

https://discord.gg/9FKeyhmqs3

Check it out, introduce yourself under # introductions, start posting questions you need a second opinion on under the # help page, plan meeting times under # session-planning, and explore all of the other channels. We can add more rooms and grow as we go!

🙋‍♀️ I posted an assignment in the # session-planning page. Go there, get started, and join me in the General Voice Channel from 9-10 pm ET on Wednesday, August 30th and Thursday August 31st to talk it through and kick off some productive studying.

P.S. If I've learned anything about Discord in the past few weeks, its that those links that claim to "never expire" still somehow stop working at a point. I will be checking in every few days to make sure the link works, but don't hesitate to comment below if you have any trouble joining, or any questions at all!

Hi all!

Let's kick these groups off with your first "assignment." Check out the #announcements-events and #session-planning channels in your group to see the assignment and plan when to meet and go over it together. I'm keeping it simple and asking you each to complete an LR section, but DON'T look at the answers. Then, find a time to meet in groups to Blind Review the questions together and talk through your reasoning!

Everyone will be completing PT65 S4, based on 7Sage's numbering system, NOT LawHub's. It's just the second LR section from the Dec 2011 LSAT. Then, you will try meeting with other group members in your score range to go over it. Myself or another tutor will be ~lurking~ on the comment section for this forum post as well as the #help channels in each Discord group throughout the day on Wednesday August 2nd (ONE WEEK from today) to answer any questions you have about this section.

That's your deadline to complete the section and post a time in the #session-planning channels that you can meet to discuss it and/or join another group who is already meeting. Comment below with any questions and happy studying!

@-1 I agree that this would be helpful in the future, but for the interim let's use the honor system as someone joining a group that they aren't ready for (or that they are already scoring above) is really only doing a disservice to themselves and doesn't disadvantage others! Open to more thoughts on this.

Are you looking for an easy way to find people to study with? Or do you just want a break from reviewing questions on your own?

You're in luck! Whether you are taking the June test or you are studying now for a future test, join us for our next "Study Group Breakout" on Tuesday, May 16th from 8:00-9:30pm ET.

Here's how it works:

Register for the Breakout no later than Monday, May 15th.

Take PT55 Section 2 (based on 7Sage's numbering - should be an RC section) and Blind Review it, but DON'T look at the answers. I suggest you take it as a "Drill" rather than as a PrepTest! You can do this by going to the "Practice" tab and choosing "Drills," then selecting "Newer" PTs, selecting "Reading Comprehension," and scrolling to PT55 S2. You will have to individually add each passage to your drill, but hit "Create drill with 4 passages" at the bottom right when finished, and voila!

At the end of the session, you can exchange emails and keep meeting if you enjoyed the group.

Hi all!

Thanks for showing up to Free Live Class Day on Monday and our Proctored PT last Saturday! If you missed it, or if you're ready for more practice taking a full LSAT Prep Test under simulated online proctor conditions, you're in the right place. The next Proctored PT will take place on Saturday January 27 at 1:00 PM.

Looking forward to the Blind Review sessions on Monday for PT 72. Anyone can access the recordings for our January 23rd classes Blind Reviewing PT 73 here: LR and RC! We covered the group's flagged questions in LR––the crowd had a bone to pick with Flaw and Assumption questions. Getting to the bottom of the meaning and structure for Passage 2 and 4 in the RC section was a journey. If you wanted to see what Cameron's "fancy-subject" photos actually look like, here you go! They are kinda depressing after all.

Here's how our Proctored PTs work:

  • Register by clicking the blue ‘Register’ button on this page.
  • Once you sign up, you'll receive an email from Zoom with the link to join the meeting.

Select a PT that you want to take for the proctored test. This week's recommended PT is test 72; you're encouraged to attend the associated Blind Review sessions on Monday! (LR Review | RC Review). You can take the PT through 7Sage, or- if you want to simulate real test-day conditions- you can log into LawHub and take it there.

Show up to the Zoom meeting 10 minutes before the scheduled start time (12:50 PM ET). You will all be prompted to complete a room scan (similar to the test-day security measures) at the same time and then put into a breakout room by yourself to complete the test.

Simulate the test! Our 7Sage Proctors will monitor the testing process for the duration of your test and even simulate a pesky interruption. The Proctor will ask if anyone would like to be interrupted at the beginning of the session, and you will have the chance to indicate your preference. If only the Prometric proctors would be so kind as to ask! If you have any approved accommodations, please let us know via private chat at the beginning of the session as well––you will be able to test with those.

If you have any questions, please email bailey.luber@7sage.com. We hope to see you there!

    When stuck between two ACs:

MUST get into my own words what the difference between the ACs

then rephrase what you are looking for in the right AC

then MAKE YOURSELF highlight a couple potential “red flags” for each

word or phrase that is unsupported, too strong, etc

Pit the “red flags” against each other

HIGHLIGHT evidence in the stimulus or passage to prove your answer

If you're ready to get more practice taking a full LSAT Prep Test under simulated online proctor conditions, you're in the right place. The next Proctored PT will take place on Saturday February 24 at 1:00 PM.

Thanks to all who could come last week to the PT and BR sessions. On Monday we covered your flagged LR questions from PT76 S2, focusing on the most difficult ones first. Virulent diseases, email disclaimers, and cancelling police dramas made it into the mix! On Tuesday, we covered RC (S1), which led us to into a whirlwind of positive vs. negative evidence, the discovery of Neptune, and a hot take on Schoenberg's music being actually ~good~. Who knew the LSAT was so interesting?

Here's how our Proctored PTs work:

  • Register by clicking the blue ‘Register’ button on this page.
  • Once you sign up, you'll receive an email from Zoom with the link to join the meeting.

Select a PT that you want to take for the proctored test. This week's recommended PT is test 77; you're encouraged to attend the associated Blind Review sessions on Monday and Tuesday! (BR Series). You can take the PT through 7Sage, or- if you want to simulate real test-day conditions- you can log into LawHub and take it there.

Calling all 7Sagers looking for an effective way to study together!

@ Sorry for the confusion! All future Proctored PTs will occur weekly and will be free! Hope to see you there :)

If you're ready to get more practice taking a full LSAT Prep Test under simulated online proctor conditions, you're in the right place. The next Proctored PT will take place on Saturday January 20 at 1:00 PM.

Looking forward to the Blind Review sessions on Monday for PT73. Last week's Blind Review sessions for PT70 (LR and RC) were fun! We had a lively debate as to the right answer for a tough Flaw question that dealt with a confusing part-to-whole issue (and a little dreaded math). We also discussed how to attack Comparative RC Passages, like the one on whether money can buy happiness. Can't wait to see more of you there on Monday, January 22nd for Free Live Class Day!

Here's how our Proctored PTs work:

Register by clicking the blue ‘Register’ button on this page.

Once you sign up, you'll receive an email from Zoom with the link to join the meeting.

Select a PT that you want to take for the proctored test. This week's recommended PT is test 73; you're encouraged to attend the associated Blind Review sessions on Monday!

Thanks to all who could come last week to the PT and BR sessions. On Monday, we reviewed PT75's deceptively fascinating LR stimuli: among them the Duke of Acredia, outfitting cattle with expensive GPS, and debating claims about a comet reservoir. On Tuesday's RC BR session, we dove deep into the comparative passage, two sides on whether liars and thieves deserve a taste of their own medicine. Fun! Hope to see you at the next ones.

Thanks to all who could come last week to the PT and BR sessions. On Monday, we were super productive and discussed P2, P3, and P4 of PT74's RC (check out the recording here), focusing the most on that nuanced Law Comparative passage. In the LR session, we attacked plenty of questions between Q8 and Q23, debating answer choices and whether bacteria is actually living (P.S.- the answer did give us a hint there in saying that bacteria "thrive." Do rocks or other nonliving things "thrive?"). Find the LR Blind Review Recording here!

Hi @, 7Sage tutor chiming in here! First off, I would echo the previous comment and emphasize the importance of mastering games. I completely agree with the drilling, foolproofing, and spaced repetition advice. I think you can definitely re-use already seen PTs, especially for LG. Start with what you've seen least recently and focus on mastering it and getting more out of it, not on if you memorized that C was the answer to question 3 (for example). For LR and RC, your goal should be not to lose ground and focus on getting a few extra points on average from LR. Predicting answer choices and having a cemented step-by-step process for each question type can really help. I'm a fan of letting yourself do more untimed practice than you normally would, if you're someone who usually practices timed. Focus on going back to the fundamentals and truly checking in on understanding for each stimulus, question stem, and AC.

I was also someone who took the test multiple times and I actually got a lower score than my PT average for 3 out of those 4 tests. The difference was that I walked away from my last LSAT feeling like it was just another PT, and confident in predicting my score. That's your goal, so how do you get there? I was endlessly frustrated with what could have changed on the actual test, and writing out a list of anything and everything that could have been different or extra (in terms of external factors like environment and internal factors like mindset) was a helpful first step. After that it's really a matter of building the mental-game aspect of this test (confidence, stamina, a Plan B, C and D etc for if something goes wrong) just as much as you work on timing and accuracy. Some helpful ways to do this are to not move on from a question/game/passage when wrong answer journaling until you are fully confident you could send an explanation for it to another 7Sager on a forum. If you aren't already keeping a wrong answer journal, this is your sign to start! Sometimes just introducing a more formal WAJ where you assess not only why the AC was wrong/why the right one was right BUT ALSO writing down why you eliminated the right answer, why you selected the wrong one, and what you can do to never make this mistake again (preferably with an action item, like a specific strategy or drill set).

Finding study buddies to stay accountable and talk through reasoning can help! I also really recommend considering signing up for our Live Classes, as we have many that are focusing on mastering LG, building a Study Plan, and just about anything else that is perfect for pushing through those last few months studying. We are also going to be offering simulated Proctored PTs every Saturday, so look out for those announcements on the Forum/events page to get more chances to experience the test in an environment most similar to test day. Let me know if you have any more questions! I'm always happy to help.

Looking forward to the Blind Review sessions on Monday. The links to join are below, and if you have a Live subscription you can access the recordings here for last week's (LR) and (RC) Blind Review classes on PT72. We had fun discussing a not-so-fun topic of theoretical and clinical "equipoise" in that third RC passage. We also picked each others' brains on lots of LR questions, namely that tough Strengthen question near the end of the section about "phenazines," or as we decided to call them, "P's."LSAT hack! Replace long, hard-to-read words with their first letter!

Study Group Breakout - February 21st

Hello hello, 7Sagers! Are you looking for an easy way to find people to study with? Or do you just want a break from reviewing questions on your own?

You're in luck! Join us for our next "Study Group Breakout" on Tuesday, February 21st from 9:00-10:30pm ET.

    Here's how it works:

  • Register for the Breakout no later than Monday, February 20th.
  • Take PT54 Section 2 (based on 7Sage's numbering - should be an LR section) and blind review it, but DON'T look at the answers (I suggest you take it as a "Drill" rather than as a PrepTest)! You can do this by going to the "Practice" tab and choosing "Drills," then selecting "Newer" PTs, selecting "Logical Reasoning," and scrolling to PT54 S2 (NOT S4, the other LR section for this test). You will have to individually add each question to your drill, but hit "Create drill with 26 questions" at the bottom right when finished, and voila!
  • Log in to the Breakout Session at the appointed time. We will automatically place you in a group of 3-5 students with similar scores so you can review the section together.
  • At the end of the session, you can exchange emails and keep meeting if you enjoyed the group.

@ Of course!! We are having a Proctored PT this Saturday at 1 pm ET, if you're able to join! Here is a link to the forum post with the details: https://classic.7sage.com/discussion/#/discussion/34869/june-3rd-proctored-pt

I think you're spot-on in identifying those external and internal factors. Now, your goal is to expect that all of those things will happen and prepare for it! Write down your game plan (even if it seems unnecessary) for every obstacle you might encounter, and think yourself through those responses.

As for your second question, congrats!!! That's an awesome PT, and you really can get that score on the real test. You know exactly why this happened: you did (to some extent) something different or extra on the actual test! Now, write down exactly what you need to do to succeed in each section on the real test (IE trusting your initial LR judgement because it was rooted in evidence and logic), and exactly what you need to avoid (IE re-reading to the extent that you don't normally). Keep that on a sheet of paper or on a sticky note on your computer (remove it for the official LSAT of course) and read it before every full timed section and PT that you do. Add and edit as you continue learning! BTW, start doing full timed sections apart from full PTs if you haven't done that yet). Your goal is to remind yourself to intentionally stick to what works and get rid of anything extra or different, and repeat that enough times under timed conditions to be absolutely confident you can do it in a less-than-perfect test day environment.

Hope to see you at the Proctored PT!
