I was wondering whether or not I needed to read Maurice's argument. As many have said, I think you can get away with not reading it. But the benefit to reading it could be that it helps you easily rule out answer choice D.
The question is asking which strengthens Jane's argument.
Answer choice D is the one that most closely reflects Maurice's argument.
Maurice's argument is a rebuttal to Jane's.
So it can't be the one that strengthens it.
I think in a time crunch, probably not worth the time it takes to read it. But if you were having a hard time answering the question, then maybe?
