Hi all!

Just wanted to share this Discord again for anyone that is interested in finding active LSAT Discords.

Though we mainly study in Pacific Time Zone, we welcome everyone interested in contributing to the learning community.

We got a lot of people studying for the upcoming June and August and beyond (but also just starting 7Sage curriculum), so if you are in search of an active group, study buddies, or just have questions about the LSAT, please feel free to join. 💙☺️

  • all LSAT learners welcome!
  • all LSAT scores welcomed!
  • Anyone can create/lead an LSAT study session whenever. Yes, this is a free and open online space to study.
  • So far I am grateful for all the support people give to one another on here, and want to share it again in the hopes that more people can benefit from it.

    So sorry to hear ):

I kept postponing my LSAT because I felt I would be in this situation honestly. Manifesting that your next test will be higher though. 🙌🥺

(I found live sessions to be helpful in giving confidence/more speed and some tips the syllabus leaves out.)

I hope this is a good space to share this, if not please let me know. 😅

I was looking for California LSAT study groups to hold myself accountable on studying or finding support spaces where we can do drills and PTs and go over them.

There's probably other groups out there, but just wanted to share this group in hopes of finding active people who are working towards the June 2025 LSAT and beyond.

💙 Those working 9-5 jobs are welcomed.

💙 All LSAT score levels welcomed.

Because this group is new, our first meeting will be Monday at 7:30PM (PST) on Zoom,

but anyone is welcomed to join and create Discord events with the time they want. 💙

    Thank you!

Thanks to all those that commented so far. 💙 I do get sad when I hear bad experiences from taking the test in a certain format since I feel that it shouldn't have a huge impact in future LSAT taker's decisions, but it does and I guess that's why I was nervous about choosing how I want to take it and wanted to ask my fellow 7Sagers. I appreciate all your comments and insights on your experiences and what you've also heard from others.

I hope to hear from more for in-person experiences as well. And yes, I also heard that unless you have accommodations of some sort to have the test printed, the test will be on a computer...

Hi all! For those that have already taken the LSAT, what are your experiences in taking it online or in-person? 🥲

Which is better in your opinion (pros/cons)? Even if you haven't taken the other format, why did you prefer the format?

    Context:

I am very new at all the LSAT test-taking experience. I planning to take my first LSAT in April and am very nervous. I want to register tomorrow (don't want to risk doing things last minute) and was considering doing it online, but am not sure if my choice on where to take the test impacts admissions in any way and such (e.g. online test takers are more at a disadvantage for admissions). I want to think taking it in-person is better but am not sure what testing facilities look like, procedures, etc. and if I would be distracted by other test takers. For online, I read there are camera requirements, and am not sure if I need to buy special equipment? My house is not the quietest place because of pets and busy family members, and was planning on taking it in a neighbor's home...hopefully that's allowed? If there was some unprecedented noise, such as siren noises, dogs barking, etc. would I be cited? I took the written driver's test online during COVID and my first account with the proctored system disqualified my test because there was a front door chime going off every time my parents were opening the door as they were bringing groceries inside and the test thought I had my phone with me. After this experience, I became more nervous on taking proctored tests especially when there is a cap on the number of LSATs one can take...

Thank you all ahead of time.

I may not reply to comments, and thought to leave this forum here also in case others have similar questions

Can you create a new link that doesn't expire please! ☺️ I want to share it with the LSAT folks I know from NY. 💙📚

Hi all! I posted a while back about a Discord I created for Californians, but I wanted to share the link again this month in case you want to join a study group 😊 Everyone is welcomed!

I was hoping that I find more people who want to study during the day, since we have a good night session group for those that work or go to college full time, but not a lot of people who are able to meet before 6PM (PST). I feel bad that we had a couple of people looking for study buddies during the day, but most are only able to study at night.

Currently, there are official night sessions every Monday and Tuesday night, but people hop on Voice Channels whenever they want with others. Feel free to join us!

I'm not sure what time zone you are at but I run a modest active server for those in California PST or those who live in nearby time zones. 😊 I think all are people from 7SAGE.

We meet every Monday night at 8:30 PM (PST) and recently planned on meeting on Tuesdays around the same time.

This server literally welcomes anyone who is able to study with us and chat.

So even if you cannot attend study sessions, we chat often about LSAT questions and admissions. 💙

    https://discord.gg/eq7QSHKQnn

There's also a larger discord server (1000+ members) that I'm part of...they also have their own sessions with tutors but are with people coming from all over.

In case anyone is also interested in joining a discord group for Californians (or anyone in the time zone), I'll drop the link here, it's a nice space to chat and connect with others. Many of us are aiming for a 2025 LSAT exam 🤙

We meet every Monday night at 7:30PM (PST) to chat about LSAT and answer questions about law school. But anyone is free to lead a session anytime here.

Because I was in your shoes I want to give a bit of a lengthy response.

Literally was in your shoes in September, not sure what non-traditional is considered but I didn't know anything about Law school path and was not sure where to start, I consider myself an underdog in all this. A friend recommended me 7Sage and was happy they did. I was supposed to take the LSAT in January but found myself possible taking it in June (kept pushing it back as I saw I wasn't happy with my practice test scores). I got the 7Sage Live with the fee waiver (through LawHub), so I'm taking advantage of all the resources on this plan.

Took me about 3 months to get through all the 7Sage syllabus/curriculum (spent like 3-5 hours a day studying, with the holidays off and slower days/days off when I got burnt out). I still found myself behind, but maybe that's because I wasn't really locked in when watching videos and thought I could get by on surface level understanding. Not quite sure but it gave me more confidence in answering questions when I first came in thinking each question was asking too similar things and all looked the same 😵‍💫.

But I found the fundamentals section which talked about grammar and common LSAT verbatim/words used (like what the heck "some", "most", "few" means or what does "infer" means) SUPER helpful. It's just those little things I missed out on when I was using free resources like Khan Academy LSAT prep (which now moved onto the LawHub website).

As a person who is also kinda grinding towards doing a test this year but wants to do REALLY well...I'd say that the 7Sage curriculum is helpful and didn't regret those 3 months I did.

I can't say much about live sessions, I tried some and still felt lost since I still felt that I'm not that advanced to even know where I'm lacking so I couldn't really ask those deeper questions. So as for now, I am not joining much of those sessions until I see that I am "plateauing" or getting stuck as a practice score that's sooo close to where I want to be.

For tutoring? I can't say I can afford it at the moment, and don't have any 7Sage feedback about the service but I feel that having someone guide you on where you are at is always helpful. Hopefully someone adds on to their experience with the tutoring...

In the end it depends how high you wish to go. I know some people who just graduated college and just took the test with whatever time they had between homework time to study and got the 150 range and went to a decent law school, but I wish to do better, even if I think I starting at a lower level. I'm trying to break against those odds on how far you can go with a short time, and I'd honestly say it's hard, especially when you are doing this on your own and don't have the resources other students and LSAT takers have. So if no one has said this to you, I wish you luck on your studies and you should be proud on even tasking yourself on studying for this test 🙌 The difficulty did change many of my fellow classmate's minds on law school so...

    hope this helps. :)
