Ah, I get it. Very helpful! Thanks for answering. (I'll let you know if I run into further difficulties, which I don't anticipate.)

If not, do you think it would work as an alternative for me to write down on a piece of paper all of my answers to the questions, then delete the data associated with this particular prep test on 7Sage, and then just retake the test (where by "retaking it," I mean just waiting for the 17:30 to elapse without bothering to figure out the answers). That way I would technically get a 120, but I would still be allowed to blind review. Does that make sense??

Blind review after the fact?

Is it possible to blind review a prep test that I took after I falsely stated that I blind reviewed it because I wanted to see what my score was right away? Or can I not go back and blind review it? Thanks! (I think it was probably a stupid idea not to blind review before seeing my score, but I was too impatient...)

LSAT writing -- "exam initiated"

Hi all,

I finally took LSAT writing today. I took the August LSAT and tried to take LSAT writing for the first time a few days after the August exam, but technical difficulties prevented me from doing so. I think I thought it was okay to use Google Chrome, which apparently it isn't. Then, a few weeks later I tried taking it again (I waited a few weeks because it wasn't a huge priority for me to complete LSAT writing asap), but as I tried to test whether my computer was compatible with LSAT writing's online proctoring requirements, I got hacked. I then spent a week dealing with that.

Finally, I think I took LSAT writing today, but I'm not certain the exam was submitted. This is for a few reasons.

Under the status column on the LSAT writing page of LSAC, it says "Exam Initiated" rather than something like "Exam Completed."

Right after the last second elapsed during the exam, the webpage containing the prompt and text box immediately went away and seemed to be replaced by a screen that said something like "There was a problem" and some other text. I waited for about 20 seconds to see if this would change but it didn't. So, I tried refreshing the page. I think after that it went to a page that said the LSAT writing sample was submitted, but honestly I can't remember exactly. I'm concerned that this screen that said "There was a problem" means that, even after taking the 35 minute exam, it somehow wasn't registered or something.

I read on the LSAC website that after one completes LSAT writing, one will be able to read one's answer. Because I don't see any link that enables me to do that, I'm afraid my LSAT writing exam was not ultimately submitted.

Does anyone think they know what the deal is? Needless to say, I am extremely frustrated by how many times I have had to try to take LSAT writing. I hope I don't have to try a fourth time. Thanks a lot!

A good way to eliminate wrong answers for this question is to imagine the hypothesis that it's not sand termites but some other animal that tears up the grass---baboons, monkeys, whatever. Most of the wrong answer choices in no way suggest that it's sand termites as opposed to some other animal. True, (A), the right answer choice, could also be consistent with the possibility that baboons, monkeys are causing the fairy circles---maybe the baboons, monkeys, or other animals happen to dig up the grass just at the roots. But (A) at least provides some support for the sand termite hypothesis.

Thanks, that's helpful. I mean, I do well in LR and RC; it's just LG that I need help on. I think I really should just drill LG over and over and over.

Awful at logic games

I frankly don't understand why I'm so bad at logic games. If I were no worse at logic games than I am at reading comprehension and the short answer section, I think I would regularly score in the high 160s/low 170s. I've practiced logic games a fair amount, and I think I've done a fair amount of the 7Sage curriculum on logic games. But I often get in the -8 to -13 range. Do I just need to start the 7Sage curriculum on logic games over again? (This is what I'm probably going to do.) I feel like it's totally feasible for me to regularly get -5 or better on logic games, but that's very much not where I am at present. Any thoughts? (I realize this question has probably been asked countless times, so feel free to point me to an existing answer to this type of question.) Thanks!

I was just going to post a discussion about this. Glad to hear I'm not the only one puzzled by why scheduling hasn't opened yet. I was thinking it could conceivably be that there are more September and October scheduling dates, so maybe LSAC thinks there's a lower level of "urgency" in scheduling people early. But I really have no idea...

Great, thanks for responding. This is useful information. I still find it hard to believe that their policy is literally not to permit edits to the information. I just can't conceive of a rationale. I have tried to call LSAC, and email it, but haven't gotten through. I'll keep at it. Thanks again!

I found this to be the single most difficult RC passage in a prep test I've taken so far. Got 3/6 timed, 4/6 BR.

Hi folks,

I have a question about LSAT writing. I took the August LSAT the other day but have not yet taken LSAT writing. I am planning on doing so asap, hopefully tomorrow or the day after. But after reading what LSAC has to say about LSAT writing, I have a few unanswered questions.

LSAC says that testing in a room with a glass wall or door does not meet testing location requirements. Fine. But can I test somewhere that has a glass window that isn't an entire wall or door? There are very few rooms around that have no windows that I could test in. My apartment doesn't, and the local library (as far as I know) doesn't either.

Do I need to schedule a time to take the LSAT writing portion in advance, or can I take it as soon as the "Launch LSAT writing" link shows up in LSAC? Wouldn't I need to inform a proctor in advance that I'm going to take it at, say, 3:00 pm on Wednesday?

Thanks!

So, I took the test today (at a testing center, thank god). I thought I did okay. I don't think I did as well as I did on my best prep-tests, but I think I probably got within at least two or three points of the lower bound of my typical range. Planning on retaking in October, but hopefully I'm pleasantly surprised by my score.

Yeah, it looks essentially the same.

Hi,

Can someone confirm whether the test interface via Prometric is exactly the same as the interface via Lawhub's practice tests?

Hi folks,

This isn't a question about the LSAT, but it is a question about law school admissions and in particular the LSAC, so I hope it's still permissible to ask it on this forum.

I've not yet purchased CAS (Credential Assembly Service), and I'd like to do so as soon as possible (preferably by next week). I understand that in order to do that I need to list all of the institutions I've attended.

But on the page on the LSAC where I'm supposed to add all the institutions I've attended, I find this sentence: "Please carefully review your responses before selecting the Confirm button to submit your institutions attended to LSAC. Once you click on Confirm, you will not be able to edit your institutions."

This wouldn't be a problem if I were absolutely certain which institutions I should list, but I'm not. For:

I studied abroad for a year and I'm not absolutely certain I don't need an international transcript in addition to my domestic transcript. I don't THINK I do because I only attended for a year and the program was sponsored by my home institution, but maybe I'm wrong about that.

I believe I took two college courses from a different institution (not my undergraduate institution and not my study abroad institution) when I was in high school, but I can't remember exactly. Maybe it was three. And I don't remember the exact year.

The question: is it really the case that I have to know definitively the answer to these questions before I can "select the Confirm button"? Is it really true that I can't edit the school information page/the institutions attended page if I figure out I've made a mistake or that I do need to add the study abroad institution or that I do need to add the school I attended while I was a high school student.

I find it inconceivable that LSAC wouldn't allow people to make edits to that page in case they make a mistake or need to supplement it.

Am I wrong?

This is why I tested in person. I didn't want to have to deal with problems like these. Sorry to hear about all of the delays and such for the remote version.

I guess a deadline to upload a new photo must have passed. Anyway, I'm just going to go to the test center and hope for the best. If they turn me away, presumably I could write a test day complaint or something and retake it??

HELP Can I upload a new photo to LSAC?

Hi folks,

I'm taking the LSAT tomorrow. I just realized that my photo from my previous LSAT tests is of me with hair. I recently shaved my head and think I should probably upload a photo of me with a shaved head. But I don't know how to upload a new photo. Can someone help? Thanks

Correction. AlexLSAT is actually right. My bad. It is possible to assign a letter writer to a school even if (s)he hasn't uploaded the letter yet.

Thanks for responding! But it doesn't look like I can assign the letter writer (or the letter of recommendation itself) to a school without having it. That was the case for my two other letter writers. There was no way for me to "assign" anything related to them or their letters before actually receiving their letters.

Late letter writer

Hi folks,

So, I have two letters of recommendation on file and assigned to schools. I have asked three people to write me letters, and I am still waiting on the third. I should get it this week (I would hope), but then again I also thought I would have gotten it by now.

My question is: If I submit applications now, without the third letter received (and therefore without it assigned), can I assign it to schools once I do receive it even if I have already submitted the applications for those schools? Or is it impossible for me to assign a letter to a school, so that ideally the admissions committee then looks it over at some point, if I have already submitted the application for that school?

With the utmost respect to all my fellow 7Sage users, I am not interested in advice about whether I should or shouldn't wait to submit applications until I get the third letter. I am interested in the answer to the specific question I asked. Thanks!!
