I'm interested and wish I'd seen this sooner, is it possible to break up into two groups?

In at UVA but: UVA vs Columbia?

I’m in at UVA.

Waiting to hear back from other T-14 schools. Curious to hear the community’s thoughts about UVA vs Columbia vs UPENN — but mostly UVA vs Columbia.

I love UVA — it’s oft discussed collegiality, clerk and big law placement, lack of class rankings, opportunity to graduate with a well-rounded education, proximity to D.C legal market with advantage of national name recognition. Nevertheless, Columbia seems to carry stronger name recognition (sorry to be so focused on rankings and prestige), perhaps, as does UPENN.

But what do you all think. Just very curious.

You should print out the LG bundle when you’re ready which is LG from PTs 1-35. The foolproof method is explained in great detail in the forums (search for Pacifico’s guide). Basically you just do the game and time yourself, then try to figure out if you’ve made the correct setup or if you could have split the game board up, and you watch the video explanation to compare yourself to JY. There are timing marks to shoot for for each game. If you don’t hit the timing mark and get -0, you immediately repeat. Then you repeat the next day, then again in a week.

Basically you just do a ton of games and recycle through games 1-35 over and over again for a couple of months and then you’ll be really well prepared. Also add in games from any PTs you take during your PT phase.

I'm still learning my way around -- how can I search for Pacifico's guide? Could you maybe provide the link?

Hey,

I'm actually in a very similar situation! I graduated last Spring (2018) and have been working for almost a year now. In the Fall I start a Masters program in England then hope to matriculate to law school shortly thereafter --- that would make it two years out of college before law school.

I would definitely encourage you to take at least one year off. I've found that in this one year, I've learned more about myself than in alll my years in college. This year off, away from the constant pull of seminars, studying, extracurricular activities, etc, has given me a lot of time for personal reflection and I imagine that my masters program will challenge me and enable other types of growth -- social, emotional, mental -- and of course academic.

If I hadn't taken time off, I know I would have entered law school without full understanding of who I am and that may not have served me well.

Just my $0.02.

Hey, I took it last month and it is completely normal! I called LSAC and they told me it should change within the week, but as long as you submitted everything you should be good to go.

But how do you know if the sample was submitted. The clock counted down to 0:00 and then the software seemed to submit the sample itself. I read something along the lines of please review your "submitted sample." Just want to make sure that I didn't miss something as I accidently closed the software too quickly after viewing my response....

When people describe there LR ability in terms of (-5/-6) does this refer to the number wrong per individual LR section or the number wrong for LR in total?

"A necessarily accompanies B"

If I am B, what do you know about me fundamentally? I am accompanied by A. A depends on me, it can't help it. A is required to accompany me: so if B, then A (B-->A)

If I am A, what do you know about me fundamentally? Nothing. I could accompany B, but I could also accompany C, or other good looking letters like Z. In other words, A (the necessary condition) is inactive when considered by itself.

It took awhile for me to parse this out -- thanks so much for this brain teaser!
