How much lower? Is this your first exam? Is the score at or below your target schools' medians?

There's no text explanation for how to re-word D as JY said there'd be (#feedback), so I'll take a stab at it here:

- The study participants in the treatment group did not consume any foods containing vitamin C during the study, while the participants in the control group did.

- Most participants in the control group consumed a diet rich in vitamin C during the study, while the participants in the treatment group did not consume any foods containing vitamin C.

My two cents: go with the graduate student! What I hear reiterated again and again by admission professionals (like the NLS podcast) is that the letter should speak to your personal/professional/academic capabilities in detail. I.e. - general platitudes from the professor will not get you as far as a well-written, detailed advocation from a grad student.

Good luck, whichever you choose!

As someone who took the LSAT too many times - I say sit it out, take the extra time, and then apply. Like you, I opted to take my first LSAT thinking I could take it again need be, I wanted to apply early, etc. I scored lower than I wanted, and ultimately it's taken me much more time than anticipated to get to the score I need. I also juggled work and other responsibilities, and I overestimated my abilities. Progress is not linear - you may think you need an extra few weeks, but it may not be enough. That's definitely been my experience. That's also why people say to sit for the exam you should be averaging your goal score.

As far as number of takes, that's all so school-dependent and really can change depending on where you are applying and what your score range is. I personally have only heard that multiple takes disadvantage you from admissions once, and that was in Dean Z's youtube series. She framed it as a 'judgement' call - someone taking it when they felt ready vs. throwing exam attempts to try and get a score to 'stick'. This mentality really only seems to be shared amongst the highest ranked schools. All that to say, this is really more of a generalization, and I would not let it affect your thinking too much. It's really as simple as taking the exam when you are confident and ready.

Tldr; it's better to apply with your goal score than to rush and take it September. Tune out the noise you hear online - apply when you are at your strongest, LSAT-wise! Don't let that number, which is largely in your control, shift your odds against you. Good luck, you got this!

Live Class calendaring issue

Hi - anyone else experiencing this?

When I'm trying to add a class onto my Google calendar using the link from the class session's page, it does take me to my Gcalendar, but it adds the entire 7Sage class calendar to mine. It subscribes me to the 7Sage class calendar so that they all appear, unless I deselect the 7Sage calendar. There's no way for me to pick and choose the class I want, which is the way it used to work for me.

Cancel v. Change Test Date?

I'm signed up for August, planning to kick it to September.

Anyone know what the difference is between (1) paying to sign-up for September today, and withdrawing for August, and (2) letting the September deadline pass today, and changing my August test date before exam day? It seems like you pay the same amount regardless. I'm wondering if you get a 'Candidate Cancel/Withdrawn' on your record in one scenario vs. the other?

Here's the test change policy: https://www.lsac.org/LSATdates/what-do-if-youre-unable-take-lsat/test-date-changes

I don't have any advice on how to avoid interruptions, but I find it does help to prepare for them knowing they may likely happen. I vary my study environments to account for random noise -- like a cafe, the living room of my apt, etc. It's disruptive at first, and tbh I only do it for drilling or exams, not for learning new content or bunkering down to fix a strategy that will require more focus. But a big mistake I made when first studying was to study 100% of the time with noise cancelling headphones. It's great for my focus! But not so great for emulating test-day conditions.

I hope it doesnt happen again for you (or me lol), but preparing ourselves for less then optimal noise conditions can be one way to help us out on test day.

good luck (3(/p)

This really depends. I graduated a few years back, but I did just being a paralegal position at a big firm. I did disclose that my plan was to leave for law school next fall, but it's really not bad to not disclose your plans if it's a larger firm. The turnover in a lot of these staff roles is typically high. At my firm, there are quite a few people who openly discuss applying and leaving within the next year. But I would definitely make a decision on whether to disclose based on the firm, and whether or not you need/want connections with the people there (firms may remember you and you don't want a bad rep with people who may be your peers in the future). I personally did not mind being passed over for the position I'm in now, because I had other offers and did not want to deal with bad blood. tldr; Just remember that a lot of these larger firms are/will not be as generous with you or with keeping your best interests in mind, so always look out for yourself! If that means keeping the fact you will likely leave in a few months for law school to yourself, then that's what it means imo.

I just asked this a week or so ago, and the 7Sage team said there's no way for the information to flow from Lawhub onto 7Sage :( So yes you'll need to input your PTs manually from Lawhub for them to appear on your analytics.

@ Thank you for the response! To clarify, my concern is that by choosing "Simulate Modern", students are choosing to sacrifice a standard 4-section PT for a 3-section, in order to prevent overlap in question pools. So the crux here for me -- at least before the release of the next update -- is that by taking the 4-section test to practice Actual Test Day I risk seeing repeat questions (as @ mentioned). As someone who's writing the exam in November, this is a bit of a bummer is all. Two or three repeated questions on an exam is not a huge deal, but it's just another thing to take into account when thinking about my score averages and performance.

I actually appreciate this change! I had been using a subscription with another LSAT service that specializes in their drilling feature precisely because of the inefficient experience with 7Sage's pre-set "drills" in the CC. I'm happy to see an improved drilling feature added. However, I'm concerned about the timing of these releases and how that will affect folks taking the exam before the end of the year (November/December test takers).

With the 4-section (three actual, one experimental) PT's only being available AFTER the Nov.1 new drill release, how will these changes affect someone who has completed the curriculum and is now focusing on drills and PT's? Will it be possible to both use the updated drills, preserve the 4-section PT, and not spoil any questions with the drill feature?

Thank you!

Hi! I also still struggle with 5 star questions, but I noticed a lot of improvement once I started doing (1) thorough wrong answer journaling, and (2) attending the LR in Action class. For the WAJ, it is SOO helpful to ID why I eliminate the right AC and choose a wrong AC, it helps me see patterns in mistakes I make. This is difficult to notice unless your journaling your mistakes, especially if the mistakes are less about question types and more about consistent application of the correct strategies/methods! For the LR class - the instructors go through 5 star questions talking through their approach and strategies. When I started the class I consistently missed every question we did together, but I'm now able to get them correct the majority of the time.

After consistently doing both these things, I've started to go miss harder questions way less often. I hope some of it helps you. Good luck you got this!

Import LawHub PrepTests?

Is it possible to import preptests taken on LawHub into 7Sage? Has anyone ever done this, beyond manually completing the exam with your answer choices on 7Sage?

Okay so I gave it a listen. I would say that yes it's helpful, but might be more or less so depending on if you're taking June (obv) and if you've listened to the April/June already. It does give some specific sets of problems/ideas to focus on, and it is slightly different than April. So if you already listened to April and you're cool with missing out on a few changes, then you're golden. If you're like me, and haven't listened to Crystal Ball before an exam, haven't listened to April/June Crystal Ball, then yeah it's a very helpful tool to help me direct my focus for the next few days.

Hope this helps all.

Yeah, I've noticed this too. It's really annoying, but I don't think there's a way to fix it -- seems to be just a logistical annoyance.

your CAS GPA is what admissions will see first and foremost, it is also what your admitting school is able to post and what influences their incoming class stats - so it's more important. But 0.3 doesn't seem a huge difference. They'll have your transcripts and will see the overarching trends. Not much to do about it tbh.
