Hi everyone! I recently scored 169 (95th percentile) on the October lsat and my GPA is 3.8. I just got an email inviting me to apply from freaking Yale of all places. I know those are good credentials, but I was barely considering applying to the bottom of T14, so I was shocked to receive even a generic email from Yale. So, do we think that they might be widening up the applicant pool this year? Maybe we’ll end up having a lucky admissions cycle. What do you guys think?

I took the exam tuesday and had LG-RC-LR-LG. I cannot figure out which LG was experimental. Can anyone with one LG give some insight? One game that sticks out had music duets with violinists and pianists I think, and it was difficult for me. I remember my RC having passages about a spanish novel being ironic and another was about a bill restricting women's labor laws. I can't remember an LR example off the top of my head, but so far I haven't seen any familiar questions on this forum. I'd probably remember if I had seen something or not.
@ You will be fine! Just keep in mind you did everything you could to prepare, and there is nothing else left that you are able to do. Be confident in the skills you've worked on. Don't study or do work after 4pm today, just relax and do something for yourself. I've only taken august and I took october, and I honestly think most PTs I took have been harder/trickier. The biggest thing is to take advantage of those nerves. Being nervous is not necessarily bad. Change your mindset to be excited to take the test. It's exciting, you finally get to display all that hard work. I use the app Insight Timer, they have a few short pre-exam meditations that I found really helpful. I also cleaned and prepared my space the morning of my test so that I would be awake early, but keep busy and sort of in LSAT mode. I also went for a morning walk and got myself a coffee :) You'll do great!!
Anyone else get to LR and just feel like they couldn't read suddenly? Overall, thought this test was a little milder than August. We'll see when the scores come out.
I'm going to get 170+ on my lsat tomorrow :)
To give anyone some hope- I found myself in a very similar position this LSAT. I had been scoring PTs in the high 160s-low 170s consistently. The last PT I took before the actual October test, I scored a 157. I was heartbroken; I thought I would never regress to under 160s again. Especially since I did not think that PT was particularly hard. You have to pick yourself up and remember that the 150s score is an outlier. It doesn't indicate your skills or hard work. Shit happens. I ended up scoring a 169 this LSAT and 170+ on all the PTs I took in between this LSAT and score release (in case I had to retake.) I repeat: SHIT HAPPENS! Take me as an example, something like this could happen and literally mean nothing. Don't get yourself down or listen to any negativity. Pretend this score didn't even happen and go kill it in November! You got this!
I did a semi-cold diagnostic. I did nothing for RC, became minimally familiar with LG set ups, and completed the intro to logic section here on 7sage as well as some LR flashcards from Kaplan. So, I had a basic understanding but wasn't totally cold. I recommend that because it still gives you room to grow, as I have not majorly studied or learned concepts, but I know enough things so that my score is not insanely low. I totally recommend taking it because I assumed RC would be my best section, and it was by far my worst! Also, the timing really messed me up. I didn't even get to the last 5+ questions of each section. You definitely want to get this idea of what you're in for before you continue your studies.
