I took PT 60 today and got a 170. It's my first 170+ score, so I'm very happy. Not sure I noticed anything too different on this test. Same old types of questions, just more emphasis on assumption type questions. Anyway, if there is something different, I hope it stays there for the next 12, because this test was very nice for me!

Sequencing with Conditionals

Hello, Can anyone provide a list of games like this? The rules that are like "If G---B----> H----F" Or the other ones where it's an either/or thing like, "Either G---B/C or B/C----G" Or, "Either G----B---->H----F, but not otherwise" (bi conditional types). These games always make me screw up my boards and spend 15 minutes on the game. I need help!

One of the secrets to timing is being able to skip questions. That is all there is to it. Most of those who are able to go through the test flawlessly don't have to do this, but most of those who take the test aren't going through the test flawlessly. I think this is most applicable to the RC section. This appears to be the most variable section because the passages can be confusing and obscure in both structure and material. Some are excellent readers for this section and can break down, structurally, the material very easily. Some get obfuscated by the passages. Either way, we're talking about reading a bunch of dense material and being able to parse four passages of it in a short amount of time. Some will just never be able to accomplish this, some will make strides, and some will reach perfection. But you have to realize and understand your limitations of your reading/comprehending (while still working on them) and adjust to the questions accordingly. This means skipping questions that are bogging you down in the text for a long time. If you can't immedieately discern an answer of the "global" type and if you can't quickly discern an answer that requires you to analyze some part of the passage, you need to give it your best guess, circle it, and move on. I waste countless seconds trying to look for any extra clue I can in the text when I'm lost on these kinds of questions because I feel like "I KNOW I CAN FIND IT, I KNOW IT'S IN THERE", but I just end up rereading the whole passage or something. Point is: be strategic. Be smart, and allow yourself to get questions wrong without letting it bother you, because you're going to get questions wrong either way.

Please help! So lost with 6 weeks left!

I’ve been studying the LSAT for over 8 months now and am taking an all or nothing approach to September. I had high hopes of getting a low 170 score so I could get into top law schools, but this score is looking more and more like a dream rather than a possibility. The highest score I’ve gotten is a 168, and I’m generally in the 165-167 range, sometimes a point or two lower. Here is my issue: I’ve drilled all the types of questions from 1-38 (LR, RC, LG), and have taken a majority of the prep tests. I have about 15 clean tests left leading up until test day. On the tests, I am almost always getting the same distribution of wrong answers. I review all my tests thoroughly through 7sage, Manhattan forums, and other ways, but I don’t know how the heck I’m supposed to improve here. My distribution is, generally, LR: 5-8 (total), LG (1-3), RC (4-6). For LR, there doesn’t seem to be any obvious disconnect; I’m not getting the same types consistently wrong. It always just seems like I miss a couple of the 5 star difficulty questions each round. There’s no doubt I’m learning some of the intricacies of wrong answers and some of the trap choices, and some of the trends with question types, but I always, when taking the test, get dumbfounded by a couple of questions. I have no idea what to do because it happens every time. LG, I have a good grasp, but for some reason I just screw a question or two up anyway. RC, I don’t even know, there’s just always a couple of questions that throw me off. I’ve tried like every method of RC, but some of those killer questions just throw me for a loop each time, or I’ll run out of time at the end and screw up. Anyone have advice moving forward? At this point with a 3.9+ gpa, I would probably be satisfied with a upper 160 score, but I’m a little nervous of even that so I have to do something here.

This is for the explanation questions on the prep tests. The other lessons work. Thanks.

Sound

I just signed up for 7sage Ultimate and began watching the videos. however, the sound doesn't work. Has anyone else had this problem? My sound works for all other websites.

Answer (E) is an absolute garbage answer choice that requires you to make a couple of assumptions. For one, it requires that you make the assumption that "now" in the stimulus means 2009. How am I supposed to know when this editorial was written? I immediately crossed it off for this reason. I had no idea what year when this specific test was administered when I was taking it, either. How can you justify their use of the language "now" when the argument provides no contextual clues to any time parameters? "Now" is vague and for all we know it is in reference to when the editorial was written; which we of course don't know. Please someone explain!

Experimental Section

How different is the Experimental Section compared to what we are used to? I'm concerned that I'm going to get thrown off and frustrated if one of the sections throws me for the loop (i.e. an Experimental Section).

Any insight into this section?

thanks.

Well I use Firefox and PC. But, I just fixed it. I reconfigured my speakers and swapped the subwoofer for the center speaker ouput and now it works. I doubt that will help anyone haha, but it worked for me.

Bump. My sound isn't working anymore either. I had downloaded Adobe Flash Player and it was working for a moment, but it no longer is. It's the explanation videos and not the LG videos or lesson videos.
