I'm by no means an expert on LR, but I like doing untimed sections and following up with heavy BR. This has really helped me learn how to anticipate the answer choices, especially for flaw questions, without the pressure of time. On questions where I'd be stuck between two choices, I'd write down my thinking (during BR) and re-read the stimulus.

I work full time so my realistic schedule is 2 PTs a week with lots of time dedicated to BR. I'm also drilling logic games! lol unfortunately I'm not "safe" in any particular section, but I'm going to focus on LR and LG for the most part.

Interested!

I'm also in another group where three of us are planning on doing a BR call on Sunday afternoon/evening for PT71. If anyone else is interested in joining, let me know!

Don't give up!! I'm going through the same thing. I know it sucks, honestly. I'm in a similar position score-wise and have been working on foolproofing LG. I've been working through multiple copies of some of the games and I've been seeing some improvement on that front. I'm sitting for November for the last time...and I'm super nervous about this flex stuff. If you're looking for a study/accountability partner, lmk!

Hi! As far as I know, the recommenders don't receive any notification until you manually click the button to send the request.

I remember going to a law forum once and asking the same question. You should be fine with a Dec. 2019 LOR! Unless you've had significant updates to your life post-grad you want your rec. to include, then I wouldn't worry about it. I'd just double check the requirements for the schools you're applying to.

IMO there's nothing wrong with including retail work! I do know that on the actual application, there's a section for employment where you enter your past and current jobs with a short blurb. I'm not sure on the addendum, though. Maybe someone else can chime in.

Would love to join in if there's still room! I'm hoping to break into the 160s as well.

Sending solidarity! Currently looking at retaking in November. I'm scoring similar to you and have made some progress drilling LGs.

I'm in a similar situation, except I graduated a couple years before you. I'm planning on emailing my professors this week and asking them if they want to update anything. You're not required to ask your supervisors for a LOR, but if you feel comfortable doing so, go for it!

If there isn't a law passage about the macaque selfie lawsuit, I'll be upset.

@koffi04jun147 Yes, just LR. It tends to just be one section due to the call lasting a few hours. Sometimes a few people will schedule a 2nd call to follow up on the 2nd LR section if there's enough interest. Or you might find someone who also wants to go over RC in a separate call.

Hope that helps!

Also got out after 1pm with no testing issues in the room! I showed up 30 minutes early just so I wouldn't feel rushed. Basically just stood around until we were sent to the rooms.

Definitely don't feel inferior! Quality over quantity. Better to study smart for x amount of hours than get nowhere and feel burnt out with double that.

I also work full time so it depends on what's going on that day. I'd say 1-3 hours each weekday, but 4-5 (with breaks) if I'm not working that day. Weekends are great for catching up on studying and doing a PT.

LOR from employer - advice?

So I feel like I'm at a crossroads. I have two LORs already from professors, but I'm still not sure if I should ask my boss for a LOR? I know you only really need two letters, but I've been working for this office for two years now. This job has really opened my eye up to the law and is something I discuss heavily in my personal statement. Because of this, I wonder if adcomms would wonder why I didn't get a LOR from my job? I've been told that this isn't true -- that adcomms understand that some people can't/won't get LORs from their employer because of job security. And while I don't believe I'd be fired or anything, I just don't want to create an awkward environment for my boss since I've not really mentioned law school with them.

My plan right now is to wait until I take the November LSAT, see how I feel about the test, and then re-evaluate as I finish up my applications. I suppose I'm venting/looking for any advice from anyone who's been in a similar position? Would the lack of a LOR from my employer negatively impact my "soft" factors?
