Luke(subject-noun) loves(predicate-verb) the force(predicate-noun)

My hypothesis:

Some arguments are stronger than others because of how strong the the relationships are between the propositions. For instance, in a valid categorical syllogism, the conclusion follows necessarily, and there is no room for disagreement. In the trash bin argument, this is the weakest one because it is merely circumstantial, and the conclusion postulated doesn't have to follow from the premises because there may be other ways to account for the situation. For instance, the cat could have shown up after the fact, and had nothing to do with the trash bin being toppled.

So the Disney argument is the strongest because the conclusion has a strong relationship to the premises, and it leaves very little room for assumptions to be made. The tiger argument is the second strongest (although I originally said the second strongest was the trash bin argument) because the premise supports the conclusion. The trash bin argument falls in last because correlation does not equal causation. Of course if it were my cat, and it was the middle of the night, I'd probably just assume causation. Nevertheless, we can only assume that it was the cat, as the conclusion doesn't follow with logical necessity.

My Tiger Argument:

P1) There are people who are mean and dangerous

C) Not every person is a suitable friend

(potential flaw): In the original argument, we are denying that any of the things in the class of tiger are things that are suitable as pets(in an indirect way). In my argument, I am using the quantifier "some", rather than the implied "all" in the original argument.

My Disney argument:

All people at the event could access the the vip room with a vip card

The people at the event could get a vip card by paying 10,000 dollars extra

Everyone else has to leave the arena sad they didn't have the money for the vip room

Tom is one of the people at the event

Tom has a vip card

Tom didn't have to go home sad that he didn't have the money for the vip room

Tom must have paid 10,000 dollars for the vip card

Trash Bin argument:

The front window is broken

There is glass all over the ground

There is a random guy laying on the ground

The random guy has glass stuck up in his arms and face

Therefore, the guy must have gone through the glass
