Thank you 7sage community

Hi Guys,

I got through Columbia ED. It wouldn't have been possible without the help and support of this community. I'd really like to thank everyone who replied to my questions and random rants of despair especially my buddies and study partners. Special thanks to @"Dillon A. Wright" for being accommodating. And most importantly @"David.Busis" and the editorial team who helped me make the best possible application.

Those still preparing for the LSAT, I wish you luck. I hope you crush it and get your dream school.

It comes directly from Dr. Anders' statement "You and I know that both methods are capable of providing the same information"

Thanks. This was really helpful. I agree with your explanation for A, but I chose B though because I made a few assumptions myself. If stingrays are free-ranging Predators with few Predators for themselves, and if none of the sting rays are infected by parasites. Their population could grow enormously and impact the environment. I realise the logical leaps I am making here. But even A needs a few assumptions.

In answer A. The requirement of shrimp or oyster hosts (SOH) is a necessary condition to the existence of parasites (P).

i.e. P→SOH .

Now we are asked why the lack of P i.e. /P indicates stress.

But if answer A were to be believed P→SOH this does not tell us anything about /P

How do we infer /P→/SOH (I know it is not technically /SOH, but SOH in stress, how do we still infer that?)

Hi @7sagestudentservices , is it possible for you to upload a PDF copy of this file?

PDFs have been banned by LSAC since April 2014.

Oh right! No problem. Thanks

So I have a book of all the LR questions I get wrong. I don't know if that's called a journal. It will be great if one of you can elaborate a little more on how to maintain a journal and what to add in it.

The Manhattan book for RC is good, but I'd recommend the LSAT trainer.

So the article on the HLS website states: "The ABA is currently reviewing possible changes to rules governing which tests law schools may use in making admissions decisions."

Will the ABA's decision affect this pilot project? Also any idea as to which way the wind is blowing? Is the ABA looking to make the LSAT non-mandatory?

This question should not be in the MSS Problem Set but in the Main Point.

Should I take the Lsat again?

Hi guys,

Just got my LSAT score and I scored a 167, lesser than I expected and lesser than my last few tests average. I was planning on applying for fall 2018 anyway. Should I take the LSAT again? If I do, it will be my third attempt, in my first attempt I had scored a 157.

Anyone else anxious for the results?

Hi,

I haven't been able to sleep well ever since I took the LSAT. Is there anyone else who is as anxious? Do you have any tips to handle the anxiety? I know these are stupid questions to ask, but this group has provided me with support through my prep so I figured why not? It will help to know I am not alone.

PT30.S1.G2 - the six messages

Hi guys, I am taking the december LSAT, and I just tried practising this game. @"J.Y. Ping" doesn't explain this part of the game. Please somebody help.

Why does P HAVE to precede T?

From Rule 5 we know P precedes T, if F has left any message.

If F has not left any message the rule should fail, Thus P doesn’t have to precede T.

Thus in Q2 option E should also be right and we will be left with 2 right answers.

P.S. Sorry for not posting the entire game here, too much to type and not sure if it may constitute a violation of LSAT's rules.

I have ADHD, not taken accommodation. With practice, I have managed to improve scores a decent bit and manage timing. I do make silly errors by misreading stuff and I still face timing problems with RC, working on it :p . Again this all depends on the severity of your ADHD.

Hi guys,

So I purchased the kindle version of PT75 and it is terrible! The formatting is a bitch. And say hypothetically if someone were to convert it to pdf to print it for practice, the terrible formatting carries on into pdf (again purely hypothetical). Is it hypothetically possible to reformat it to look like the print version and what would the steps be? Also is there a place to purchase soft copies of the Preptests which are properly formatted? Are the nook, kobo or itunes versions any better?

Hi @jihyunmeganlee738.lee

So we know that in the game there are 2 of each F, G and L. So let's name the game pieces F1, F2, G1, G2, L1 and L2.

Now the rule reads: Frank demonstrates exactly one task before Gladys demonstrates any of the tasks.

This means that before G demonstrates the first task i.e. G1, there is exactly 1 F and no more.

Thus F1 - G1.

Now we must also remember that F2 cannot be before G1, because the rule says exactly 1 F is before any of the Gs i.e. before the 1st G (G1). And so F2 has to be after G1.

i.e. G1 - F2

if we link it up: F1 - G1 - F2

Now what about G2?

Well G2 can be anywhere as long as it is after G1.

So your final chain can look like either:

1) F1 - G1 - G2 - F2; OR

2) F1 - G1 - F2 - G2

I think your biggest confusion was how to interpret: before ANY

This means before the FIRST

as opposed to before both or before either or before all which would imply that F1 is before and F2 is after both G1 and G2 i.e. F1 - G1 - G2 - F2.

Warm-up routine

Hi guys,

So I am planning on creating a warm up routine for all my prep-tests in the run up to test day. Can you guys provide me with inputs regarding:

a) the time I should take for warm-up;

b) the number and type of questions I should do;

c) the sections I should do;

d) the type of questions or sections I should avoid.

Also given that on test day, the clerical procedure before the exam will take around hour, what step should I take to not 'cool down'? And how many hours before the test should I do the warm-up? Any other suggestions or considerations will also be appreciated. Thanks.

Don't actors have scripts? And hamlet is a script in itself. So an actor who played a role in Hamlet should necessarily have had a copy of Hamlet (the script).

Option D says a spectator; isn't it equally plausible that a spectator remembers the lines of one character extremely well and not those of other characters. For eg. some one watching game of thrones may know the lines of Tyrion Lannister verbatim but may not be able to narrate the exact sequence of events in the show.

@gregoryalexanderdevine723 well LR I get around 1-3 wrong per section. In RC somedays I manage to get all correct in blind review, but on most days not a lot. Improving on RC can be the real game changer for me.

Powerscore or Kaplan for RC?

Hi,

So the one area I desperately need to improve is RC. I've been getting around 10 wrong on the RC. Which book is a better book to refer to Powerscore's RC bible or Kaplan's RC. If there is any other resource worth referring to, please let me know.
