Hi! I have been noticing lately that I miss most of my points on easy games (1 game) and not the hardest LR (8-15) questions. So far, RC is my best part given I have seen them before from PTing, but the same should hold for LR and LG. I am currently going back to the basics and drilling LR and LG by type, but I feel like it has more to do with my mentality than skills.

Anyone encountered that before and managed to break that? Would love to hear any advice.

Stats (average): LG -1~3, LR -5~-7, RC -0~-2

Many thanks!

Well, you reckon how many questions we need to get right to obtain LSAT score of 150 for this one?

No idea man. Probably similar to all the ones before? I hope we get the result tomorrow Australian time.

So it means it'll be on Nov 1st for Australian and Asian folks? What a torture.

I got a few emails from schools saying they'd be back on January 2nd. I'd say you should expect to hear back after the break.

That's very helpful! Thanks!

Pet owner is real,this is the only LG section I have. Hope you fell better about this one.

Can you recall any information about LR? I got three LR and not sure which one is experimental

Thanks. I messed that one up actually.

I remember having a bacteria [deleted by admin: no question type] question in the first one and a spice related [deleted by admin: no question type] in my second one. Hope that helps?

Clarification: I was referring to the Australia/New Zealand/Asia test.

Hi I don't see any posts about the international test, so I thought relevant discussions/questions here.

My specific question is which LG is experimental. The one with the weird product origins game at the end or the one with the pet owner thingy at the end?

Best of luck to all of you!

The international test is usually different in each region. Did you take it in Australia/New Zealand/Asia on Sunday?

YES!

Anyone who just took the international test? I was wondering which LG is experimental. The one with the weird production game at the end or the pet owner one? Thanks.

Guys I am so anxious while waiting for this score. Anyone out there feeling the same?

Yeah, I agree with everyone else here. There is a good reason for schools to think that friends are biased. The same goes for family members.

Help me decide which one to ED?

Hey all,

While waiting for my Oct LSAT score, I am preparing to ED either NYU or Cornell because I want to work in NYC after law school. However, I am a bit uncertain as to how to choose my ED school wisely to maximize my chances.

Basic info:

International;

167 LSAT; waiting for Oct LSAT- felt good about it so probably would be higher than 167;

3.41 UGPA but has a valid reason for writing a good addendum, according to some responses I got here. ESL and last two years GPAs were 3.88 and 3.75. Political Science major;

Diversity- I identify as LGBTQ;

2 years out of undergrad- did a master of social work degree in another country;

Strong rec and extracurricular- I have a strong focus in social entrepreneurship and social work, and won a fellowship to deliver a social innovation project in a another country during my senior year in college. Will hope to do some sort of social entrepreneurship and law work after law school.

What do you all think? Where should I submit my ED to to boost my chances? I am open to suggestions other than NYU and Cornell as well.

Much appreciated,

TC

I am pretty sure the frozen veggie LR is experimental, since I took it in Australia and had 2 RCs and did not see those questions in my LRs.

Hi! I am an international student who studied in a liberal arts college in the states and had a cumulative gpa of 3.41.

Although my cumulative gpa is low, a closer look would reveal a significant and consistent upward trend in my grades. Specifically, it went like 2.98, 3.23, 3.88, and 3.75 for my four years (my major gpa was 3.7 in political science), and the courses I took increased in difficulties as I progressed (especially the last two years,where I took high level political science and economic classes). I had been educated in a drastically different country and English was my second language when I got into college, and adjusting to that new environment was definitely a challenge.

I was wondering how strong a case I can make, given these facts, and how much would it matter for T14 law schools when they look at my gpa.

Thanks in advance!

TC

Hi,

I am looking for a tutor who can help me get to where I need to be for my LSAT in 3 weeks.

My last LSAT score from Oct was 167, and I have been getting -2 to -4 for LG in my PTs. I am ashamed to say that LG is my current worst section since I have been scoring -1 to -2 for my RC and -2 to -3 for my LRs.

**I need to get to -0 to -1 for my LG in three weeks' time.**I am dedicated to this goal in terms of time and work.

My LG actually worsened as my other sections improved and I probably have became accustomed to some bad habits and faulty techniques. If you are confident you could help me, please DM me.

Time zone: gmt +11

Thanks!!

Missing points on easy games doesn't say anything specific enough to warrant advice. It depends more on the nature of the errors. For example, if you find yourself reviewing the question after time is over and you notice that you wrote down a rule incorrectly - get in the habit of double checking your rules every game. If you find that you pushed two rules together hastily but missed a nuance in the logical structure of the question, spend more time on individual questions, or if you answer a question quickly - put a line through the question and return to it if you have time left over at the end.

When you say that you miss "not the hardest LR questions 8-15" I am assuming that you mean that you are missing questions from 1-7 and 15+. The first note that I have here is that there is no bracket for hard and easy questions on this test. While it is generally the case that the questions from 12-20ish are the most difficult in LR sections, it is by no means a hard and fast rule. If you are, however, missing easy questions then, again, I recommend that you review the questions that you missed and do a thorough analysis of the nature of the errors. If you are missing questions because you picked up on a small inference, or are hunting for an answer choice as opposed to allowing the question and answer choices to lead you to the correct answer choice, then you need to slow down your approach and return to untimed drilling.

Your scores are not bad, but it sounds like you might be rushing it too much in some areas. Try slowing down a bit in the earlier questions, or implement a marking strategy to keep track of the questions where you know you spent a short amount of time. This way, you can use some of the time that you banked by rushing though these certain questions to return to them at the end of the section and double check that you are getting them correct.

Thank you so much for the helpful tips. I have been drilling and been noticing some gaps in my skills. Will also be more mindful and slow down a bit where I am inclined to think that the questions are "easier", whether they actually are or not. :
