LG Hack I Just Discovered That Saves Some Time

Hiya, I know that nearly all of us are wanting to save as much time as possible on Logic Games. One of the biggest issues I face is always have to redraw long diagrams for new questions on linear sequencing games. I just spent a ton of time on one where I had to draw out a table with 8 bases. It looked like this (with a number underneath):

1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8

Commonly, I'd have to redraw the base line again for a new question or when a possibility didn't work out. However, you can save time by doing this: instead of having to redraw the base points again, you can use the spaces above and below the table you've already created. Just be sure to scratch out the work that was erroneous to avoid confusion.

Basically draw again at the arrows I make and you can use one base up to three times or more. This may not work on multilayered linear sequencing games or you may be able to find a way around it.

--> (stack another above, you can keep stacking)

--> (one on the actual spaces)

1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8

--> (or use below, but you may want to keep this space open to impossibilities)

Anyway, I hope this helps some of you save some precious time on the LSAT! Good luck!

You may be burnt out and need to take a break depending on your test date. If not, just chalk it up to having a bad test day. You'll recover! Do so by compiling a list of easy questions. Ace them and get your confidence back. This test is such a mind game, don't worry!

Not a good idea IMO. You will waste so much time on these questions. I try and get the first 10 questions done quickly and confidently. There are usually a few tough ones in there, but to be done with the first 10 and have all that time is to your advantage. Also, the LSAT is a mind game of sorts and can really be affected by your confidence. If you glide through the first 10, you have a bunch of time and are less likely to second guess yourself. You can then devote those precious extra seconds to the tougher questions that appear later on.

Yeah, just make sure you're taking the practice tests in the same environment you expect a few weeks from now. Making yourself comfortable is paramount so you don't panic on the test. I've done this myself. I do well on Prep but I haven't done the best on the real thing. I'm trying to get myself so confident that I won't panic at all during the actual test.

Take practice Flex tests in the exact spot you plan to take the January test at the exact time you expect to take the Flex. Make sure they're timed just like the real thing. Blind review the heck out of them. Then do practice questions for games/types you don't do well on in the interim. You're getting your mind prepared for the test. I play to take around 10 Flex tests before I take the real thing later this month. I'm taking one today. Be sure to eat something before you take the practice tests as well.

Don't fret. Do what I did: just get really good at finishing the first two games very quickly. I can get through the first two games in most tests in around 10-12 minutes. Then, you have a huge bulk to figure out the difficult last two.

I did this by drilling, drilling drilling. Literally go to the resources section, go to problem sets and pick a first game. Give yourself the regular 8:45.

Try to get lower than that. Review to see what you got right and wrong. Do it over and over. Soon you'll be getting 5-6 minutes, I promise. Now add a game 2 to the set. Drill drill drill until you're under the 17:30. (You'll be well under).

The best part is that these games are all built from the same fundamentals. So while you're drilling them you begin to see patterns and inferences come to you more quickly. When you're able to get through the first two in 10 to 12 games you then have 23-25 to do the last two. They may even be easy and you have time to review!
