Hi Sabrina,

I started 7Sage some time after completing a Powerscore course. Powerscore helped me increase my score, but I felt as if there were some gaps missing. For instance, I had no idea how to properly review my mistakes or how to get better at logic games. I decided to sign up for 7Sage and it has helped me fill in the gaps that I felt were missing in my studies. 7Sage does use a lot of different approaches to different questions, and while studying I would try out Powerscore’s approach and 7Sage’s and decide which one I liked better. 95% of the time, I have stuck with 7Sage’s way, but I do think it’s beneficial to know both.

I definitely recommend starting 7Sage curriculum, you are definitely able of getting a higher score, and you will get there with more prep!

Best of luck!

Sorry I should have included my section breakdown. Averaging -3 on LG, still trying to get to -0/-1. RC is about -8/-10. LR is about -18/-19. I do skip around, but sometimes while taking the test I will confidently pick an answer thinking the question wasn’t that difficult, only to find that I got the question wrong and it was a level 5 difficulty question, so I’m definitely having some confidence errors.

Help breaking into 160’s

Hi everyone!

I’ve been plateaued in the high 150’s for the past 5/6 PT’s. My goal is to get a 165 in November, but seeing myself plateau has been really discouraging.

I’m pretty solid on logic games, my RC can use some improvement, but what’s really been hurting me is LR. Specifically, flaw questions and level 5 difficulty questions, regardless of question type.

So my question is, what has helped you the most to break into the 160’s? What have you done to consistently stay there?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you everyone in advance!

I was in the same situation as you when I started! What helped me the most was putting my pencil down and focusing on the passage as a whole rather than trying to remember every small detail. When I finish reading a paragraph, I stop for a second and try to remember the main point of that paragraph, and I do this for each paragraph. I know this method has been mentioned on here before, but it has really changed my reading comp score. I’m finishing all of the questions and passages, something I was never able to do before. Hope this helps!

Hi!

I’m also taking September and November. I’m going to take two PT’s a week, probably one on on Monday and on one either Thursday or Friday. I think two a week is good, but if you feel a burnout coming on you could switch to one and just drill your weaknesses the rest of the days. For the upcoming September exam I only took one a week and would do drills and timed sections throughout the week, and it has helped.

I studied last year using a different prep company also and took some later tests but wasn’t really keeping track of which ones. This year, after completing 7Sage CC I started taking tests and as I moved into the newer tests, I would remember reading a certain passage last year based on the topic, but I never remembered any details or questions, so I definitely think there is a slim chance that you will remember exactly which answers you chose last year. It’s definetely useful to retake them!

I have seen improvements in my RC score by doing art passages last, as they are usually the ones that give me the most trouble. However, I do finish all of the passages and questions in time almost all of the time. When I was struggling with time in the beginning, I would do the passages with the most questions first. I think it really depends on your strengths and weaknesses

I take one day a week off where I completely don’t look at anything LSAT related. I spend that day doing things I enjoy or just relaxing. Also, if I feel particularly tired on a day that isn’t my designated off day, I will only study for a few hours and give myself the rest of the day off. I think it’s incredibly important to listen to your body, and when it’s tired, rest. This has helped my motivation and my attitude towards the test. If you’re feeling really unmotivated I suggest even taking a full weekend off. You will be more productive for the week ahead and see better results overall.

Definitely finish the curriculum before you jump into more practice tests. If logic games is where you’re losing a majority of your points you should also foolproof games from PT’s 1-35, that will really help your score go up. Also isolating the question types in LR that give you the most difficulty and drilling those will help, along with implementing a skipping strategy during your time pt’s/sections. Best of luck!
