I need your advice!

I have been studying for about 3 months now but my LR section score actually has gone down quite a bit (from 5-6 wrong to 8-11) and I have a difficult time finishing it on time.

Timing is my biggest issue with LR and RC section.

It seems like it does not help that English is my second language as I tend to go through two step process of translating a paragraph if it relies heavily on scientific words. But I am sure I am not the only non native speaker who's ever taken LSAT. I would like to believe there is a way for me to get a high score.

My initial preptest score was 148 then when I took another one a month ago, I got 158.

However, since my LR scores have gone down, I am not so confident about 158 anymore. My test date is September 27th. I thought about postponing it, but instead, I think will opt out for a score cancellation

I am 6 months pregnant and working full 40 hr/week.

Will it be absurd for me to sign up for Premium with my schedule?

And how helpful is it????

My target scores is 170s.

Should I just stick with what I am doing now (self study with Preptests materials) and come back later for a more serious course like Ultimate?

Help!!

Yes, I will continue with my study. I do not plan on holding my study off as I heard from my other mommy friends how I would be in a zombie state for a couple of months once baby is out. :) It will be a challenge but luckily I have a very dedicated husband who is fully supporting me. One thing I really have to work on is speeding up my reading. English is my 2nd language and even though I don't have comprehension issue, I always run out of time in RC section. Thank you again for your advice and good luck to you this Saturday and December if you decide to take the December test.

Thank you both for the comments. I have been studying a little over 3 months. My initial LSAT PT score was 152. After a month of study, it went up to 158 but then it went back down to 154. As more as I study, I realized that there are a lot to be done. I work full time and pregnant with my first baby. I definitely underestimated how much study I have to put in and I did not have a clear study plan. I was overwhelmed with all the information online and kinda got lost track of a schedule plan. I am planning to take my next test in September 2015 with a better plan.

I am taking LSAT this coming Saturday.

I have been panicking and stressed out for the past 3 weeks and came to a decision to take another LSAT next year. It would have been ideal if I could move my test date to December but my baby is due 2 days before the test date so, it is not going to work.

I decided to go ahead and take September LSAT just to experience what it feels like to take actual LSAT and how I would do on actual test compare to my practice tests.

I am listening to "the Law school admission game" audio book, and the author says not to take the test unless I feel ready.

She says most likely the scores won't be averaged out (I also looked up schools I am interested in and they said they won't be averaging scores out).

What could be a reason for her to say not to take the test then?

She doesn't really says why in the book. She is just strongly against it.

She says to withdraw from the test 24 hours before the test if I do not feel ready.

Any ideas as to why?

I have most of the tests - all the actual 10s and some PDFs except the very recent 2 tests. Will that make a difference? Do 7 sage PDFs contain extra material?

7 sage course?

I had to halt my study since last September test (yikes) and I am ready to jump back into LSAT. I only had 3 months to prepare for September 2014 Lsat and was hoping to have a good year to prepare for this coming October test but with a newborn baby (born on Dec, 2014) and a full time job, it just was impossible to make any time for a study.

I hope past study was not a complete waste of time.

I am considering taking 7 sage premium course. Has anyone had a big improvement after taking the course? Also, how does upgrade work? If I start with premium then want to sign up for Ultimate, do I just pay the difference or do I have to pay Thor the full Ultimate course?

Thank you in advance!

I took September LSAT but ended up cancelling the score.

I am 31 week into my pregnancy and my due date overlaps with December test, so instead of postponing the test, I decided to go ahead and take it for the experience of it.

I had about 3 months to prepare for the September test and the more I studied, the more I felt lost.

Also, with pregnancy and a full time job, I couldn't spend as much time studying as I wished.

My biggest issue is timing. English is my second language and even though I do not have comprehension problem, my reading speed is slow. (less than 240 word/min)

I believe this is something that I can train myself for the next few months.

I do want to make a better study plan this time since I have more time in my hand.

With 11 months to go, at which point should I sign up for 7 sage prep classes ( I am planing to sign up for the basic one)?

Even though I am planning to continue with my study after the delivery, I am expecting December and January will be really difficult to spare a lot of time on studying with the new born.

My only study materials in the past were Mike Kim's 'LSAT trainer' and Actual 10s.

I've used 7sage's LG videos for LG explanation and really liked it.

I do have most of the past prep tests. Do I need to buy any other books?

I have heard a lot of good things about Power Score Bibles. Is 7sage alone enough or will I benefit from more prep materials such as Power Score?

Any thoughts/ advice will be deeply appreciated.

Thank you!

Thank you both for your input!

I have one more question.

I was told to cancel score or do not take the test if i am more than 5 points away from my goal score. But i have read somewhere lsat score do not get averaged out anymore and I can turn in the best score when I apply for a law school. is this true?

Confirm action

Are you sure?
