How to finish section on LSAC platform

I'm trying my first practice test on the Lawhub platform to prep for test day on Saturday. Maybe I'm missing something obvious, but how do you end the section when you finish? 7Sage has a check for when you're done, but all I'm seeing on the LSAC platform is "pause section" which doesn't end it. Also, is there a way to just take the 3 sections like flex?

Thanks!

Hi there. I took PT 73 today. Let me know if you want to go over it. That was hard!

I would take it tomorrow and go over it with you if you're interested!

Do you have any advice for those specific question types or on how I can improve my timing?

Something I'd recommend is highlight key words as you read--sometimes even skip over the content at first. Look for words such as "some researchers," "hypothesis," "Thus,"etc. Anything that indicates a new thought, a conclusion, or a change in subject. It's an easier way to read for and highlight the structure.

Similarly, you can also try to highlight and look out for any words that indicate the author's opinions. There are usually some adjectives that can help answer the inference questions quickly.

Highlighting the types of words that indicate structure and opinions really helped me improve my reading comp from about -7/-8 to -3.

Flex Scaled Scoring

Is the scaled scoring for flex style practice tests accurate? I'm finding discrepancies between my tests but can't tell whether they are due to different scales for different PTs or a problem with the scoring algorithm when using the Flex option. I'm trying to get an accurate idea of what my score might be!

Are you only missing more questions on RC or missing more questions overall? If its over all, maybe practice taking breaks/breathing and letting go of the frustration from hard RC passages so that even if you miss more on RC you're not letting that carry over to other sections. If it's just the RC, practice doing those types of passages with unlimited time until you get more comfortable.

I think the key is really in writing everything down! Write down any inference you can make and then write down any possible solution you come up with in the process. Having a quick reference will save you time and re-work. Feel free to message me if you want any 1 on 1 help with diagraming and notating games!

I would definitely recommend writing down everything! Things that help me out are

write down every inference you can make from the initial set up and add it into your diagram

every time you come up with a possible solution during a question, write it down so that you can reference it later

Writing everything down helps to illuminate unnecessary re-work/thinking later o n!

I tend to finish the logic games at -0 with 3-5 minutes to spare! Two things that really help me out are

Write down everything you can infer from the prompt in your diagram so that you can quickly reference them

When you find a possible to a question solution always record it so that you can reference it in future questions

Basically, having everything written down and in your diagram saves a ton of time because it means you don't have to unnecessarily re-do and work

I'm interested as well! Really struggling with RC (-7/-8). Happy to start a second group if the first one is getting too big

An incredibly enlightening book that I just read is "Most Law School Advice is Bullsh*t". It covers some of the things other people discussed here: the US News rankings should not be a factor in where you decide to go to school, and rankings don't go as far to help you in your job search as you think it does. And it gives guidance on the important things when picking a law school. It's a quick and easy read, but I am so grateful to have stumbled across it on Amazon.

Thanks so much! I'll definitely check it out.

For instance, I am interested in immigration law and found schools that have opportunities for students to travel to Mexico to work with migrants during the summer, or that have dedicated immigration clinics.

That's so cool! Good for you! Makes sense though, I'm interested in health and tech law so I'll start by looking for that. Thanks!

Deciding where to apply... help

Hey there,

Does anyone have advice on strategies or resources for deciding to which schools I should apply? I have looked at the lsat/gpa predictors, and I'm more interested in how you distinguish between schools within the ranges. For context, for undergrad I knew what school I liked, applied ED, and went. So I am new to school researching and gauging likelihood of acceptance.

Any advice would be appreciated! TIA!
