Yeah i always appreciate JY's honesty. It's funny because many tutors or programs pretend like they never make mistakes but its because they've reviewed the questions multiple times or do so before their lessons.

I think its actually more encouraging for those struggling with the LSAT to know that even experts get things wrong from time to time.

I agree. I was also between A and C and chose the wrong answer. I highlighted unfair and wondered whether it could be gleaned from the fact that you're forcing people to work together when they clearly don't want to but i that's unsupported.

The question of fariness isn't dealt with. It could be that the author thinks that coercive remedies are fair but they should simply be disfavored because of their consequences.

A is supported because we know that in many cases monetary compensation can be an adequate remedy instead of specific performance. So, by first checking whether we can award damages, that avoids the possible uncomfortable result of ordering specific performance. If we realize that we can't award damages, well then we'll analyze other remedies, i.e. specific performance.

I have strong coffee in the mornings, decaf in the afternoons and tea at night to pacify the mind. Otherwise, I also have trouble sleeping. Try decaf or maybe just switching over to tea.

Don't overthink it. You place higher taxes to disincentivize use. So if i want people to use X instead of Y, I'm going to make it very costly and burdensome for people to use Y so I'll add a 50% tax on it. If they start off at the same price, then its reasonable to assume that people will use X because they're getting the same benefits (presumably) while saving money.

Definitely try to take at the very least 1 day off before the LSAT so you can rest your mind and eyes (screen exhaustion is real). Try to have a ritual before you begin. For example, i like to listen to comedy skits the morning before i test and an hour before the exam, i will review easy LR questions, review easy LGs and review my RC strategy.

Ten minutes before exam time I like to do lunges and push-ups to wake me up and get the blood pumping. I will meditate while i wait for the timer to hit 0 and start the proctor U process. My meditation consists of being grateful for the opportunity to take the exam, to be in a priviledged position where I have a shot at showing my skills and eventually of going to law school. Think about the BILLIONS of people who will never even have a shot at pursuing their passion and be grateful that we at least have a shot. I think that helps focus the mind.

Finally, i think its important to take as much psychological pressure off of yourself as possible. Don't view the exam as "do or die." It isnt. Worst case scenario, you continue studying and wait another cycle. Just tell yourself that you've prepared and you're going to do your absolute best! That's all you can ask of yourself. This has helped me enjoy the process more and take unneeded pressure off.

Best of luck!

Same advice as above with one additional quirk that I wish I would have realized sooner.

It's important that when you're reviewing a game, that you try to figure the game out actively as JY goes through it. What do I mean?

Let's say you absolutely froze at the beginning and didn't even know how to map the game out. JY shows you how to map it out and will then go throguh the questions correct?

Well, you shouldn't watch through the whole video in one uninterrupted sitting. What you should do is start watching the video and as soon as JY shows you something that you missed (whether that's how to map, or a key inference), you stop and try to take the lead from there. Otherwise, you're going to end up passively watching JYs explanation and thinking "oh yeah i totally get it now" but you might not get it at all.

While if you stop the video when something you missed is revealed to you, you give yourself the chance to wrestle with the rules yourself and figure it out as you go.

Eventually you will of course watch the whole explanantion but the whole point of this strategy is to actively realize what you missed and then burn that into your memory by actually solving the game before you're shown the solution to all of the questions.

I went from not being able to solve certain games and taking 20 + minutes on what i now would consider easy games to crushing those easy games in 5-7 minutes. That process took me months! so dont put yourself down if its taking a while to become fluent in the LG section. Take your time and learn from each game. The speed will come.

@matthewcsorrels859 Thanks bud.

@dzxu88233 It is tough for me as well. I also work full time so I've just tried to finsih up certain components on my free time and requested my LORs.

What I do is work on my statements once im all out of LSAT steam or on days where i just don't have the mental space to study. So i juggle both things by alteranating between them. Remember that studying doens't always have to be something rigid like a full 1-hour session.

As soon as i have some down time at work, I'll do a few LR questions or 1 LG or run through 1 RC passage. Just anything to keep your mind sharp works. Try to be flexible and try to study during downtime at work because after work, your mind is just too exhausted.

Are you completely opposed to retaking in November? That way you would give yourself enough time to work on your weaknesses and reduce the chances of scoring lower than 172.

145-171 and going for more

I love seeing the thank you 7sage posts so I thought i'd stop by and also extends my gratitude to 7sage and this community.

I believe its also important to movitate each other and to show that hard work can pay off. It's taken me about 9 months to reach this point and hope to motivate others to believe in themselves and work hard to achieve your goal.

I definitely wouldn't have made it this far without 7sage and without the support of the community so thank you!

Taking one more shot at it in November, let's goooo!!

Focus on the Big picture

I used to get bogged down trying to memorize every single detail and lost sight of the main point and the purpose of the passage.

Practice makes perfect and as mentioned above, its important to try and see the patterns in in/out games. The inferences to be drawn become very repetitive after a while.

But something else i wanted to add is that its important to be absolutely fluent in conditonal logic and what happens when you affirm the sufficient or necessary and/or deny the sufficient or necessary. These are things JY emphasizes on most in/out videos because they're absolutely key to doing well on those games. So make sure you've got those fundamental skills down. It'll help you see more easily how many possible worlds there are and how the pieces will move around in each world.

Do you have any downtime at work? I really burned myself out by studying so much after work to the point where I can’t look at an lsat book anymore after work but I try to throw in some studying during downtime at work.

This helps because my mind is at its freshest so it’s quality studying and I don’t have to worry about coming home to study. I don’t even have children so I honestly don’t know how you would have the time and energy to study after work.

Good luck!

Congrats!! I feel like im on a similar trajectory lol. 165 in June 169 August and just took September and felt like I did slightly better. Would you mind sharing how you improved on RC, any breakthroughs you had? That's where i'm struggling the most! Good luck

Nvm, i get it now lol.

E, despite being stronger doesn't give the argument the necessary wiggle room. For example if all but 1 of the large dairies didn't meet the standards, the conditional wouldn't trigger if we chose E.

But the argument doesn't set as high of a bar which is why D works.

I believe this is actually a NA question and not a SA.

The question stem asks us if the conclusion is to follow which of the answer choices is assumed (aka MBT). That's a NA question.

If it was an SA question, it would say: which one of the following, if true, guarantees or ensures or allows the conclusion to follow logically. That's very different wording.

If it were a SA question then both D and E would suffice to guarantee the conclusion.

Am I wrong here?

@madisont144394 I’ve basically done every PT with the exception of the 90s so I’m not sure if I’ll do those now or save them for October but mostly I’m going to focus on getting LG down to -0 by repeating hard games and I’m also going to drill every RC passage that I haven’t done. I was counting on LG and LR giving me wiggle room to make 4ish mistakes but I think this is also a wake up call that I can’t neglect RC so much so I’m going to try my best to get it to at least -2 consistently.

Good luck!
