I'd be interested as well.

I’m at 138/554 for the LR section. Would you do LR and drills at the same time? I’m looking at the January date, but would consider earlier.

I was able to finish the foundation, LG and RC sections of the core curriculum. Does LSAC break down what was your best and worst section? LG was my shakiest, so I’m planning on just doing drills and pretests!

August Score Release and Advice

Hey, y’all. I took the LSAT in August and my score came back today with a 140. It’s not what I wanted, but it’s also not the worst that it could have been. I’m shooting for a 155 and want to retake it in a couple of months.

What’s the best strategy from here to prepare for a retake? Thanks!

Resume Diversification

Hey, y'all! Question - I've been working as a legal assistant at a personal injury law firm for the last two years. Long story short, I'm taking a gap year between graduating in May and applying for law school and am looking for new opportunities to expand my knowledge in the town I'm currently in. I've submitted a few applications here and there and didn't realize for one that it was for a family law firm. My question is: Does having experience with different types of law on your resume help with admissions or success in law school in general? Advice? Thanks!

That's where I need to start. I actually haven't taken a PT at all yet. I'm kind of just doing the drills and working on them until I understand it and it clicks, but I'll start there. Thanks!

Should I take the LSAT in January?

Hey, y’all. I took the August LSAT and scored a 140. I was shooting for a 157. I thought I could rope LSAT prep into my schedule this semester, but it hasn’t worked. I’m planning on ramping studying back up November 1 for about an hour a day and then ramp it up even more when I’m home during break. My question is should I take it again in January or should I give myself more time? I’m looking to start law school in the fall of 2024. Any advice is appreciated!

I'll pop in here for advice here as well. I took the LSAT in August and scored a 140 after only one month of hardcore studying due to work and school. I'm finally finished with school for the semester and am shooting to bump my score up a few points. My goal is anywhere between 150-157 because I think my work resume can float me. I haven't completed a full prep test yet due to my schedule, but to bump the few points up, would y'all suggest just doing prep tests 2-3x a week?

This is definitely what I needed to see! I'm finishing my undergrad in May and am having to take a gap year because my LSAT score wasn't where I wanted it to be, so I'm exploring a full-time job and how to study during my gap year and had the same thought. Thanks!

I took the LSAT Writing yesterday, so hopefully I can help! I took it my gym at home (at least two open walls) with my back to a wall of mirrors. You still have to do the room scan and show your ID, but it got approved, so you shouldn't have an issue. As long as you don't have scratch paper in front of you or your phone on your desk or something, you're good! You also don't have to schedule a time! I just sat down and took it. They just record your video, there's no live proctor. Hope this helps!

Getting back into studying

Hey, y'all! Long story short, I've taken the LSAT twice, getting a 140 and a 139 respectively. I last took it in February and decided that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting different results and between full time school and three jobs, I just couldn't study. That being said, I graduate Saturday with my bachelors, start a full time 8-5 on Monday and am ready to get back into the swing.

What's the easiest way to get back into studying? Ideally, I'd like to shoot for the August/September LSAT. Thoughts?

Question - how do you know when the Writing portion is complete? Do they send you an email that it's been processed, or do you just check LSAC periodically?

Oh, okay! I was under the impression that it was a live proctor. Thank you!

LSAT Writing Location

Hey, y’all! So I’m still trying to find an acceptable location to take the writing portion of my LSAT (I take the in-person tomorrow!). If I set up a table in the middle of my gym at home that has a wall of mirrors and I sit with my back to the mirror, do y’all think that would be acceptable? My thought is that if I did that, the proctor would be able to see everything in front of me and it would take the anxiety off of me. Thoughts or suggestions?

@ I found this on LSAC's website. "Test takers are permitted to have their Prometric confirmation number and LawHub credentials written down for reference during the test start-up process. Any notes will be subject to inspection by the remote proctor or test center administrator."

Following. I take it on Saturday! I'm planning on doing a few drills tomorrow just to brush up and familiarize myself more with the question format, then just relax and decompress.

What to Expect Structure Wise

Hey, y'all! I'm taking the LSAT for the first time this Saturday. Would someone mind explaining the generic structure? I know it's LR, LG, RC and an unscored section, but is there a certain number of passages/games they'll give you for each? Thanks!

Definitely! I took it in August to establish my baseline, and this February attempt is to just bump a few points up. I got a 140 and think I can get a 150 focusing on LG. I'm definitely not waiting, but I have a decent GPA and extra curriculars and resume! Thanks for all of the help!

It just doesn’t make sense to me to postpone my career plans a year over one section. Why wait when I can just do my best to improve? With graduating in May and being used to a break over the summer and then back to school in the fall, it makes the most sense. I have the scores to get into decent law school, I’m just shooting for my goal school at this point.

That’s what I’m going to start doing! I would do drills of logic games over and over, then watch the explanation videos. My plan now is to start watching the explanation videos of all of the sections and keep taking pre-tests once a week. Even though I’m not seeing a numerical improvement, I feel like I’m getting the hang of it

I’ve finished each of the sections except logical reasoning, but logic games is my weakest subject. I’m averaging -14ish right now. It’s one where I don’t know if I can afford to take a gap year to study

Hey, y’all.

I’m currently registered to take the February LSAT. For my study schedule, I’m taking a pre-test every Tuesday and spending an hour every other day studying, mainly because that’s all my work schedule allows for. So far, I’ve done two pre-tests and I’ve gotten a 140 and a 139, respectively. Should I feel discouraged that I haven’t seen any improvement or encouraged in the fact that I have some sort of consistency? Should I take the pre-test, then spend the rest of the week focusing on the explanation videos to see if something clicks? I don’t really want to take a gap year between graduating in May and law school, I just want a few more points (I scored a 140 in August), because I think my resume and extra curriculars can help me. Any advice would be appreciated!

Study Schedule for this Next Week

Hey, y’all! I’m taking the February LSAT next Saturday and was wondering what my study schedule should be. I’ve been focusing hard this last month on logic games as I think it can boost my score the few points I want to be able to get in. I’ve been doing about an hour a day or so drilling 3-4 games a day. Should I continue doing this? I feel okay enough about the other sections. My goal is a 150ish. Thanks!
