Ok this is all gravy, I'm on the same level; 25, just took the December LSAT but asked LSAC for more time to cancel and they gave me until the 10th which is in 2 days, This was my first time taking the LSAT ever and I have a 3.1 GPA, I am NOT planning on taking the February Test because (1. there are less seats. 2. there is less scholarship money.). If I don't apply with my December score ( which i still have not retrieved/ still debating to cancel) then i would have to take June and apply early next semester which would be great because i would be right on time early ready to apply with a better score this time. ( I am not in a hurry to get in but i would like to start sooner the better ) MY QUESTION...Would it look better on my application to have a lets say 145 first try and then a 159 second try OR, a Canceled first try and a 159 second try. Please shed some light on this if anyone has anything to help!?

my favorite moment: is when I read enough into the whole LSAT/LSAC operation and realized what games can a nonprofit with over $150 million income come up with. Monopolized the whole system.

Thoughts about retaking in February...

Hey all, So after taking the December ( my first time) , I'm having thoughts about canceling or keeping the score, which is a different story, but I wanted to ask from students about what they think about February exam for this cycle? isn't it true that since admission cycle opened OCT 1st most students have already gotten admission because of the rolling base and also that most scholarship money is gone since half of the classes are already full? If i happen to cancel my score or do poorly that I have to retake in february, wouldn't that be already too late and therefore a waste of time instead of taking it in June for the next cycle? I am surprised to see people even talking about taking february knowing these facts... please shed some light on this, specially the lawgic of those who are set on taking it.

Also can one of the staff respond to some of student's questions, J.Y used to be a lot more responsive, but i guess since he's been getting more memberships he doesn't respond anymore, I know they are no admission counsel but i am sure they are well connected in that aspect, I understand all they want is for us to keep retaking and extending out membership here but come on shed some light.

Thank you all, these are for sure some future lawyer answers i'm getting here, everyone defending their thought process pretty lawgically. I have a 3.0 ( i know, its horrible) got a 3.8 in the last two year but my JC Gpa killed me. Now i know I need a really good LSAT score to make up for my bad GPA, I normally score in the 160 but I think i really went under with the testing center conditions and being nervous ( additionally this was my first time ever taking an LSAT, and from what I have heard it is not even worth taking the February Exam since all the scholarship money would be gone and they only keep a few seats open for ELITE scorers ( not me) even though i really wanted to start school this year I may have to retake in June, now with all this said, is a 142 and a 160 better or a cancel and a 160?

Don't take the February exam. Spots are already filled up, scholarship money is gone, they just keep the doors open for application money and the ELITE scorer, 3.8Plus GPA and 169+. I wanted to go in this year, messed up on the December exam and now just going to have to wait to take it again for June and apply for 2015.

My proctor took an HOUR to start... got there at 8:30... She was not sure which sections to fill out which one to not ... Hour later at 9:30 with a mono tone she reads... blah blah blah prohibited items are... and goes you may now turn to section one and start working NOW... everybody was stunned. We are writing a complain about the instructor and the way she handled things... Other than that it was LG LR RC- LR RC. third section ( first RC was my experimental). LG was brutal.

I am now in the same situation where i'm not exactly where i want to be and i know i can do soooo much better if i just put the time in but this is my first time and i want to apply this cycle and feel like if i get one shot at it, best thing is i get what i want worst thing is i have a real test under my belt and will go at it again. as far as taking it February for this cycle, i have read and heard from many legitimate sources that February is not the best time to take the exam for the upcoming cycle, most schools have already given admission to many students and they reserve some spots for the ELITE scorers that may pop up and apply for February, and if you are like anything like me with an average GPA and average LSAT score you want to get your foot in first, so if Tomorrow doesn't work, hang tight another couple months and take it June for the following cycle, I really wanted to start school this September of 2015 but, going thru 2 months of studying( for february if december doesn't work) then applying late when scholarships and admission is full seems like a waste of time and i'm better off waiting til june to apply for 2016, im 25 and this is my first time, can someone shed some light on my lawgic please ?

So is it overall better to do have everything sent and on hold or is it better to take the test and then next day come on and send everything ? or it makes no difference?

When would one negate the Sufficient side?

Me and a student were studying when we got a bit confused over when to negate the sufficient. Consider these two examples:

If you are a rabbit you are white.

R->W

No rabbit is white.

is it /R->W or R-> / W

I feel like the second one explains If you are a rabbit you are not white and the first one says no rabbit is white. Can somebody for the last time explain when the sufficient gets negated and when the necessary? something concrete to remember would be much appreciated, I know this might sounds basic but after awhile you just get confused...

on another note, I see they ask if english is your dominant language and whether you have english fluency, If english is my second language and I am fluent, but bubble it not fluent would that effect anything?

Also when you guys say -1 in Rc passage do you mean 1 mistake in each section totaling 4 mistakes or just one in the whole 4 sections? same with LR i get confused when people say -3 in LR, is it -3 in each of the LR sections or is it total? I hope for god to be each section because that's how i'd be doing.

I figured if you read every single word on RC passage including all the words on the question stems and AC, you would physically not have enough time. How in the world would one read all, answer all correct and have time left?

They get full access to all your grades, some even generate their own GPA based on your class cases, so if you want a gpa on your resume just go with your major so it looks better and you have something to back it up

Adderall. ADD or no ADD helps focus with studies. Planning your day/week out also works, setting up times to make sure you attend your plans.
