I chose "B" for this answer, but was torn between it and "C". Can anyone elucidate me on why we cannot say the two premises are inconsistent?

If these premises aren't inconsistent, what would be an example of a stimulus that IS inconsistent? While it is obvious to me from the answer choice "C" now that there could have been an intervening cause, and that is why it is the correct answer, I want to have a more nuanced understanding of what "Inconsistency" looks like in a stimulus.

Would it literally have to look like "All X's are Y's" and then have another premise that suggests "Some X's are not Y's?" I can see how that would be inconsistent whereas this stimulus just has some contextual ambiguity, which we know is weak because it fails to establish a causal link. Am I on the right path? Thanks.

Question 17 is iffy to me. The author states that the new research suggests that neutrinos could have mass. The author cites one experiment and then the theoretical implications of that research to the issue of dark matter as a whole. Does that suggest that the author is satisfied that oscillation occurs and that neutrinos have mass? It doesn't really seem that way to me. The author's stance on the subject doesn't seem at all strong enough to make that assertion.

Choice B seems better to me, because if you take oscillation and its implications through the conclusion of the passage, the understanding is that even at the highest projected numbers that resulted from the study, neutrinos alone do not account for all of the dark matter in the universe. Some other type of dark matter must then be responsible.

Hey Nicolas! Thanks for the response. In addition to my score, what I'm really waiting for is two crucial letters of recommendation - I don't think it would make sense for me to send in the application without those being in it, right? Will schools accept letters of recommendation that come in later than the rest of the application?

I'm also waiting on a couple of my recommenders to finish their letters for me. So at the very least, I need to wait for them... Right? Should I send my incomplete applications in, and supplement the letters later? Is it going to hurt my application that it will be coming in close to the deadline?

I've heard that getting the apps in as early as possible is important for the T14 schools, but for the rest, it makes very little difference. Any thoughts? Thanks!
