Hi there, I'm on PST and would love to check out your BR session. However, I signed up for the November- not sure if that would make a difference.
This is super helpful. Thank you for adding the tidbit about the "cookie-cutter" flaw. Cheers!
I'm interested as well!
This was super difficult for me. I'm just now jumping back to the CC after a long pause. Can anyone reference the lessons that break down the formulas discussed?

Very interested! Let me know when works best for your schedule and maybe we can try to coordinate a time to connect? Feel free to PM if you decide to take another tutee on. Thanks!
I think I'm losing sight in what I'm supposed to do. However, it think I've sort of wiggled my way into understanding this a little better:
The thing is to weaken the argument one needs to find the gap between wishing to remain in power and “acting responsible”. If you can maintain power AND NOT do the socially responsible thing, then a weakening answer has been found.
This for whatever made me think of Covid-19 and how it impacted the service industry. I got it right without drawing out a diagram. My mindset was essentially trying to find another answer for the downward trend. It an economic depression logically made the most sense.
Alright, not gonna lie, I definitely had to rewatch this a few times. Essentially, what I'm noticing is that under timed conditions I don't read all the answers which is frustrating. In addition, I lost sight of what I was trying to weaken.
JY explains that the conclusion flat out says- "Colic in infants is caused by the inability of those infants to tolerate certain antibodies found in cow's milk...". With this in mind, mother's cutting out the consumption of dairy, suggests that it is in fact dairy and the lack of ability to process said antibodies that are actually the culprit.
I need to remind myself that when in doubt- find the conclusion & premise, from there pick the answer that weakens the support.
Literally what I did! It helped me refocus.
@Merly your analysis was so helpful! I was so wrapped up in thinking that it mattered if whether this mysterious pull wasn't impacting Neptune and Pluto that I lost sight of weakening the the conclusion. Once you helped center the focus to "The force pulling Uranus MUST be a planet". From there is because clear that we only have to pick an answer that addresses this idea and from that mindset B stands out.
Fun fact. I picked B during round #1 and then picked C during BR. UGH.
Ugh. I think doing this under timed conditions doesn't let me process the questions well. But after rereading the stimulus and then JY's explanation, the answer choice made more self. I also definitely misunderstood the stimulus because I picked E and it supported the argument so that made more sense.
How does you all strategize working through problem sets thoroughly while under timed conditions? Practice? Lol.

We should all connect! I work full time and have been struggling to study consistently and make progress through course curriculum. Accountability buddies that share tips on what work for them is something I'm interested in!
Interested!
