Unfortunately I'll be sitting this one out. I was unable to take this PT today due to a pressing matter that developed earlier in the day. Perhaps this is a lesson against waiting until the day before a BR session to take the actual exam.
I'll be skipping this one as well in order to drill some weaknesses. I'll see you all next week!

I'm done with the LSAT now, but I'm working on typing speed for law school exams. I just got so I can touch type as fast as I could type while looking before. So I won't face any more pressure to quit, take off my blank keyboard cover, and start looking again.
You just reminded me of a similar problem I'll have to fix prior to entering law school. While learning how to type in elementary school, I developed a really bad habit of using my two index fingers 95% of the time. I was faster than most of the other kids despite using my two index fingers, so my dumb self thought there was no issue. Anyone have a good recommendation for an online typing course so I can re-learn the fundamentals?
I have been using typingclub.com which is free and had lessons and worked fine and showed what fingers to use. I also bought a keyboard cover for my laptop and used nail polish to cover up the keys on it so I can't cheat and peak.
Thank you for the recommendation!

I've heard that if you apply to the law school that was your undergrad, you have less of a chance of getting in. In my case, it's my graduate school so I'm not sure if it still applies but I'm definitely applying to Michigan if I get my target score.
Who told you that? That sounds like someone rationalizing why he/she didn't get in.
Graduate schools often don't like inbreeding/taking too many of their own people. But that doesn't apply as much to law schools where they are not worried about our intellectual diversity as researchers the way they would be in a PhD program. Michigan has a program where people from their undergrad with good enough grades can skip the LSAT and get in so I doubt they are trying to avoid people from University of Michigan.
I felt I had an edge applying to U of M because it was easier to convince them I would go. My personal statement referenced U of M which I hid for the other schools but excentuated for my Michigan app. Additionally, I was a Michigan resident which helps on tuition by a few thousand dollars and may have convinced them I would attend if admitted and not hurt their yield. Being able to avoid yield protection is important and is probably easier for anyone with any specific tie to a school.
Wow, that Michigan program sounds awesome. My undergrad has the early-decision program -- which I'm hesitant to apply under because it seems like it provides absolutely no room for scholarship negotiation.
Congrats on Michigan -- that's a great school. I visited once in summer of 2015 and was amazed at how beautiful the law school was.

Nooo... does that mean I'm going to lose everything and I don't even have a choice? :( I'm gonna cry.
Try using a VPN or proxy to access 7Sage from a U.S. server, and then attempt to extend your membership. That could work, though I'm not 100% certain.

Can someone please #help by explaining what a "highly successful waste management concern" means? Despite getting this very easy question correct, I was thrown off by the use of the term "concern."

Hey @, sorry about the delay! Here's what I got,
Stay FOCUSED
Construct a “low-resolution” summary of each paragraph before moving onto the subsequent paragraph.
Sometimes this might only be a couple words that provide a general overview
Use terms that indicate the role the paragraph plays in the broader argument. Develop a lexicon of “go-to” terms.
Always read with your attention directed towards the MAIN POINT of the passage!!!
Make a mental note of whether the author is attempting to persuade or merely inform the reader.
This will help to eliminate a large number of incorrect ACs.
Attempt to predict the direction that the author is going to take the passage.
However, doing so well and accurately is a skill that will take time to develop.
During prep, write up questions answered incorrectly along with an analysis of the question and an explanation of why the chosen AC is wrong and the correct AC is..well…correct. ?
Having a clear idea of the whether the passage is informative or persuasive as been especially helpful for me when going through the answer choices. Oftentimes, especially for the main point questions, there will be an answer choice that covers an appropriate amount of content, but lacks the correct indication of intent/purpose. Hope it helps!
Thank you so much!
Just to clarify my above comment -- I use noise-cancelling headphones that are connected to my iPhone, which is playing the 7Sage proctor app. I don't hear the outside noises very well, but I certainly hear the background noises and distractions that I've enabled in the 7Sage app, which I believe is sufficient simulation for test-day.
I've been there. It doesn't feel all that great, but wouldn't you feel worse having a score on your record that isn't ideal to you?
I always use noise-canceling headphones. I don't see why it'd be an issue provided that you allow for sufficient background noise and distractions in the proctor app.
Indeed it does! Several months ago I was so unbelievably lost during LG. I would've never thought that the amount of progress I've made since then was possible. As my Philly friends would say, "trust the process."

Well, @, your tips were, without a doubt, some of the most valuable pointers I have found for RC. Good luck on your results from yesterday's test!
Would you please consider sharing those notes you took while viewing her RC-related posts? It'd be super easy to take a picture and just upload them onto a site like imgur.com.
Sure thing! I'll clean them up a little and post them tomorrow.
Thanks so much!!

This might be the most annoying stimulus I have ever seen on LR. I hate this question with every fiber in me.
This is such an aggravating question. I erroneously chose (B) because I thought the argument was failing to consider the possibility that chromosome #6, in combination with other physiological factors, causally contributes to the development of schizophrenia. Can someone please #help me by telling me where I went wrong? I hate to be that person who insists they're right and that the question is fundamentally flawed, but I cannot see how my pre-phrase isn't applicable to this question. Anyone, please shatter my reasoning so I can learn. Thank you!

Yara!! Missed you and can't wait to catch up on Tues :)
I missed you all too! I really needed a break which is why I didn't show up this past Tuesday.
Looking forward to it!
Hey everyone, I'm taking a break from PTs to further drill some weaknesses. I hope to join you all again ASAP.

I mostly study in the mornings before work.
Motivation is something that gets depleted during the day from work tasks, decision fatigue, and everyday life in general.
If and when I do study after work, which I probably do 2-3x a week, I will often go for a run or hit the gym before going home to study. Exercise is an important de-stressor and can help keep you motivated and focused.
I also read motivational literature and watch free motivational videos on YouTube just about every single day. As Zig Ziglar once famously said, "Motivation is like bathing, it doesn't last. You should do it daily."
Alex, could you please share some of your favorite motivational speeches and books?
Of course, dude!
A lot of the books I find the most motivational are actually biographies of successful entrepreneurs or focused on sales/business. So never be afraid to read something in that vein!
Here are some amazing, general motivational books that I think people should check out:
Managing Oneself– By Peter Drucker
The One Thing– By Gary Keller
Made in America– By Sam Walton
The Decision Book– By Mikael Krogerus
See You At The Top - By Zig Ziglar
Anything by Les Brown, Zig Ziglar, TD Jakes, Warren Buffet, or Gary Vee is who I primarily watch on YouTube. There are also some amazing lesser-known speakers on there as well. I just never remember their names, haha. Type in "motivation" and just start watching!
Thank you for sharing!

Though I got this correct by process of elimination, isn't it true that (C) somewhat contradicts the premise of the argument? We're told that "...the degree to which an artwork has an emotional impact differs wildly from person to person." Since the premise discusses persons in general, why are connoisseurs exempt from this? Are they not persons? I'm a bit lost and greatly appreciate any #help.
I believe that is "unproven vs. untrue."
Logically speaking, just because I am unable to prove the idea that pigs can fly, it does not necessarily mean that it is a false statement. Perhaps there is an enchanted pig somewhere in the universe who has the capacity to fly invisibly, yet none of us know it yet.
