Self-study
My undergrad GPA is not amazing, I had a couple bad semesters and ended up graduating in 2020 with a 3.25 (LSAC, ugpa was a 3.45)
I then went back to school for music and a paralegal certificate a few years later. My post-grad GPA is currently a 3.87 (I still have two terms left, but I plan on hopefully keeping it up!)
Will law schools take into consideration this higher and more recent GPA when applying? I am pretty worried that my LSAC GPA is going to ruin some chances..
@rheamangoo echoing this as someone who made the mistake of going to law school at 21 immediately after graduating undergrad and dropping out after a couple months: I wish I had worked a few years and waited to go to law school initially.
Law school is so much pressure, especially when you are still young and haven't started your career yet. I am personally going back to law school only after working in the legal field for a few years and deciding that it was the right choice for me. Dropping out and waiting was the best decision I made for my life and my career because I was able to make professional connections and have a taste of the real world before going into such a challenging professional path. I am not saying my experience will be the exact same as yours - but I would encourage you to consider taking some time (maybe just a gap year!) to explore the different legal pathways before locking yourself into law school.
