35 minutes isn't enough!

Hello! I'm having a really hard time answering all the questions within 35 minutes. I tend to run out of time during RC and sometimes, LG. I score significantly better when I blind review and I know I could do a lot better if I just had maybe 5 more minutes with every section. I honestly feel capable enough to answer each question type but I tend to get them wrong because I feel rushed. During BR, I realize that if I wasn't so rushed, I would have gotten a lot more questions correct.

Any advice on how you manage your time during your PTs or how to not let the clock give you anxiety? This is single-handily the reason why I've always done so bad with exams. Thanks :)

Hello! All those feelings you described are emotions the LSAT writers want you to feel. They seriously try to bring out the worst in us. While it does get easier, I don't know anyone who has enjoyed studying for this test (I still have days where studying makes me cry, lol) but, the sooner you accept that this is all just a game, the more manageable it gets. Also, reassure yourself that this exam is learnable. You are entirely capable of doing well on it. I really believe the first week is a the hardest! Good luck :)

Try approaching this question in a way that determines if you would truly enjoy the program versus whether it would make you a more competitive applicant or not. At the end of the day, law school is going to equip you to work successfully in a corporate firm and a corporate firm will equip you even further. I feel that sometimes I regret approaching things from a “will this will look good for law school” mindset because by the end, I feel like it wasn’t worth an investment of my energy. Logistically, it’s only a year long program but mentally, is it something worthwhile and that you won’t already learn in law school with various core classes/electives?

Maybe try finding students or professors in the program and see what they think of the coursework/time commitment! I personally strayed from additional degrees because of the constant fear of burnout and how that might impact my law school experience. Regardless, you won’t miss out on anything meant for you!!!

Go with who knows you better and can write a stronger, more authentic assessment of your character! Who is going to write the most positive things? I think if that person is the one with a legal background, that's great! If you really want to cover your bases, ask both of them and then decide. In my opinion, going with someone who knows you less only makes sense if they're an alum to a program you're really interested in. Otherwise, go with who can say the most about you.

How do you feel about strengthening questions? I tend to look for the answers that strengthen the argument and eliminate those. Usually 3/5 choices strengthen the argument in some way. 1/5 are completely unrelated to the argument and then the last one is your correct answer choice.
