Correlation: When the sun is out, more people wear sunglasses. The relationship between sun & sunglasses is positively correlated, but the sun doesn't directly cause the wear of sunglasses. People may choose a hat instead. If X increases & Y increases, you may suspect correlation.
Causation: The occurrence of A manifests B.
Physics students are "more likely" to do well... I don't think that's correlation or causation. That's just a statement letting us know that when students take a test, it's likely the physics students will do better than chemistry students.
Herk Driver: I took the test today. I either scored very well or I bombed. But not both. ;-0
My order was RC/LR/LG. RC took a bit longer than expected, but I answered all the questions. I think I messed up a few of the LR questions. LG I ended up guessing ~4 responses. Tougher than I'd practiced. I'll be happy if I can crack 160.
Proctor was awesome. Zero test taking issues.
Good luck!
Your most valuable resource is time. The primary disadvantage to brute force is it absorbs time. If you are able to make an inference or reduce the number of worlds, you gain a distinct edge going into the questions. Still, if brute force is working for you within the test time constraints, then perhaps spend your study time on areas where you are weaker.
"Not both" and "none" are both Group 4.
Let's start with "Not both /S and O".
The process for Group 4 is:
Pick either idea. [I'll pick '/S' as the idea]
Negate that idea. [/S becomes S]
Make that idea the necessary condition. [ -----> S]
The other idea is the sufficient condition. [O ---- > S ]
Thus we get O ---> S with /S ---> /O as the contrapositive.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Now "none". "None of the M is /D"
Pick either idea. [M]
Negate that idea. [/M]
Make that idea the necessary condition. [ -----> /M]
The other idea is the sufficient condition. [/D ---- > /M ]
Thus we get /D ---> /M with M ---> D as the contrapositive.
Hope that helps!
Apologies for the late reply, but I did the "Get Acquainted" as well. It helped insofar as I was able to see the interface, understand how my paragraphs would show, see how it shutdown background processes on my computer etc. Once you are comfortable, get that sample done so you can receive your LSAT score. Good luck!
