I share your thought process which is why I picked D instead of C as well.. But I do understand why D is now incorrect. Our shared explanation of why we came to chose D is a big jump in assumption.

Ok, I was stuck on this question for like 2 days trying to understand everyones explanations. This is what I figured out.

Nations are not literally persons, they have no thoughts and beliefs etc... However, The nation cannot survive unless the people believe the nations are literally persons and that they have thoughts etc...

By believing this, it makes it a false belief.

THATS why B is right. This is the most simplified explanation I can come up with.
