Much needed - thanks! I think remembering that you can work past what you think are your intellectual limits is surprisingly difficult, but every reminder that it's possible to surpass what you think you're capable of through hard work and persistence gives me a little boost and keeps me trying. Happy new year everyone!

I have done that and I can honestly say I did not make the most out of it. Maybe it was because I did have a generous chunk of time and kept thinking I have x amount of days to cram and at the time it seemed like a lot, but I definitely procrastinated. I think it’s a good opportunity if you can take the time off and you actually study hard (unlike me). Otherwise, consider taking less time, studying really hard and leaving some PTO cushion for the unexpected.

I have to say that I love the built in timer! It helped so much with keeping me on track. And I love that you get only one question at a time. It can sometimes be overwhelming to see all of them staring at you together. Is there a way you can make it easier to review all questions? I like to go through all of them, and right now I am clicking on the explanation for each one. Is there a way you can just click next and have it automatically bring you to the explanation for the next question on the test rather than open up a new window for each answer?

LORs - format

Do LORs need to be in any particular format; addressed to each school, LSAC? How long should they be (roughly)? I understand you should not fill a paper with empty words, but how concise is too concise?

Also, is it important that the letter actually say somewhere "letter of recommendation"? I had one recommender put "in reference to: my name", "asked to serve as a reference," etc.

I'd appreciate any input. Thank you!

I've tried opening a few practice tests on my laptop, but the bottom is cutoff and I don't have a scroll option. Help? Nevermind... using a mouse solves the issue. How embarrassing.

I would not worry about other people and what to say to them - all you need to say is I'm working at it and I'm not ready for it yet. I'll take it when I'm where I need to be. I don't think you owe them more. I've faced a similar question - "Why haven't you applied yet?" The answer is easy - my LSAT score is not where I want it to be - but it's the circumstances and my bad habits with regards to studying that it highlights for me that sting a little.

LORs - do they need to say recommendation?

I know this might be a silly question, but do letters of recommendation need to explicitly say that anywhere on the letter? I ask because I understand there is a distinction between a letter of reference and a letter of recommendation, and one my recommenders included "this reference is provided at..." It would be easy enough to have them change it and maybe this is trivial, but I'd appreciate all of your input. Thanks!

#help Does anyone know how the Logic Games section will play out in the digital format. Will paper be provided for us to diagram?

Per LSAC:

"Will test takers be able to use physical scratch paper to diagram the analytical reasoning questions?

Yes! LSAC will provide scratch paper and a pen for test takers to use during the test. We will provide a stylus that can be used to underline and highlight text on the tablet."

I think it is wrong and you did the right thing (good for you). Don't look back.

A few months of what can only be described as half-assed studying. It was my second time taking it and I bumped up 10 points from the first round which I was happy about but that put me in the mid 150s. I read through the power score bibles. I don’t even know how many months... I did not even take a full PT. In hindsight I honestly did not know what I was doing now that I’m reading through the discussions. I finished the free trial and I think I will go for the ultimate plus but I’m waffling big time and want to make sure I go into it the right way this time.

Can I use my last LSAT score as my diagnostic?

I’ve already taken it and was wondering if I should take a diagnostic before starting to study again or if I could rely on my last official LSAT score as my diagnostic. It was last month’s administration so very recent. Thank you!

@ happy to hear that amount of progress is possible in such little time (studying hard, of course!)

Thanks all! These discussion boards are awesome. I’m new here and it’s incredibly refreshing to be around similarly minded people. I have felt bad at times for not studying enough though I know that’s a choice. Glad to hear I’m not the only one.

I was set on a number of months so thank you. I’ll just need to work through the material and see where I’m at.

So I’ve already taken the LSAT after some ridiculously half-hearted studying. Can I use my LSAT score as my “diagnostic”?

Thank you for sharing! It’s good to hear such a big improvement is possible in as few as four months. Just curious but will you be retaking or is this around the score you were aiming for?

Thanks, all! I appreciate everyone's input.

One of my LORs is from a graduate student instructor whom I worked closely with. They are no longer at the University and we do not work together. Should they still put it on their company's letterhead?

What course do you recommend?

I can’t decide, though I’m leaning towards Ultimate or Ultimate plus. I’m in the middle of the free trial and while it’s been helpful in a very general sort of way, I really need hands-on practice with a lot of structure... similar to “now do problems x, y, and z.” I know you must be thinking what is she a five year old... but I think this would work best for me. Are the courses structured along these lines (roughly)?

Yeah, the September LSAT will be digital. June will still be paper-based and July will be a mix of paper and tablet. I've taken a few practice tests in the 7Sage beta version (check it out) and I was apprehensive about it since I'm used to paper, but the built in timer has been a huge help for me - timing is an issue I struggle with. I also LOVE the fact that you only see one question at a time. Helps me not get overwhelmed with looking at all the questions at once. I'm taking the July test because of the option to see your score and cancel, but honestly I'm thinking about the September administration now because I'm digging the digital version. 7Sage has a beta version where you can practice the electronic test - sorry to repeat but you should check it out. LSAC has a practice test you can take too. I think you will still be able to use paper for the logic games but don't quote me on that.

I bought a super basic easy reader Timex at Target that I've used for the test. I actually had to look through quite a few to get the most pared down watch. I chose one with no date on it but has the minutes notched in and I reset to 12 at the beginning of each section like @. Just make sure you can actually pull out the notch - some of them have a low profile. Because I err on the side of caution, I've asked the head proctor each time if it's okay to reset my watch at the beginning of each section. Good luck!

This is the one I got so you have an idea (its for function not fashion  ): https://www.target.com/p/women-s-timex-easy-reader-174-watch-with-leather-strap-silver-red-tw2p68700jt/-/A-16749776
